3차원 신호 전송을 위한 체계적인 역사상 알고리즘 (A Systematic Demapping Algorithm for Three-Dimensional Signal Transmission)

  • 본 논문에서는 3차원 격자형 신호성상도를 위한 체계적인 역사상 알고리즘을 제시한다. 제안된 알고리즘은 8분 공간 결정, 원점과의 거리 계산, 심볼 좌표 결정 등의 세부 기능으로 구성된다. 이는 세부 기능의 조정에 따라 체계적인 확장이 가능하므로 더 큰 격자형 신호성상도에도 적용이 가능하다. 제시된 알고리즘의 검증을 위하여 3차원 신호전송시스템을 구현하여 모의실험을 수행하였다. 여기서는 field programmable gate array를 이용한 하드웨어 기반 시스템과 $Matlab^{(R)}$을 이용한 소프트웨어 기반 시스템을 구현하여 시스템의 동작과 성능을 비교하였다. 그 결과, 가산성 백색 가우시안 잡음 환경에서 두 시스템은 거의 동일한 오류성능을 가지는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 하드웨어 기반 시스템은 정보원 이진 데이터열의 3차원 신호로의 변환과 이로부터 원래의 이진열을 완벽하게 복원함을 확인하였다. 이로부터 제안된 알고리즘과 구현된 3차원 전송시스템은 정확하게 동작하는 것으로 판단된다.

  • The excellent dielectric properties of $SF_6$(sulfur hexafluoride) have lead to its wide range of application in the field of high voltage insulation. Because there has been some recent concern regarding the environmental impacts of $SF_6$ binary gas mixtures, with $SF_6$ as the main component, have been the subject of active research. Scientists have long been interested in the possible use of gaseous fluorocarbons, including $CF_4$ (Carton Tetrafluoride), in high voltage applications due to their inert character and high dielectric strength. This paper presents experimental results concerning the AC breakdown characteristics lot various mixtures of $SF_6/CF_4$ in a test chamber and 25.8 kV GIS (Gas Insulation Switchgear) at practical pressures (0.1-04 MPa) and gap lengths (0.5 mm, 1 mm) in a test chamber. In the result, it was observed that an increase in the dielectric strength is attained through the addition of $SF_6$ to $CF_4$. It is possible to make an environment friendly gas insulation material while maintaining the dielectric strength by combing $SF_6$ and $CF_4$ which generates a lower level of the "global warming" effect.

Viator vitreocola gen. et sp. nov. (Stylonematophyceae), a new red alga on drift glass debris in Oregon and Washington, USA

  • A new encrusting red alga was found growing abundantly on glass debris items that drifted ashore along the coasts of Oregon and Washington. These included discarded fluorescent tubes, incandescent light bulbs, capped liquor bottles, and ball-shaped fishing-net floats. Field collections and unialgal cultures of the alga revealed that it consisted of two morphological phases: a young loosely aggregated turf and a mature consolidated mucilaginous crust. The turf phase consisted of a basal layer of globose cells that produced erect, rarely branched, uniseriate to multiseriate filaments up to $500{\mu}m$ long with closely spaced cells lacking pit-plugs. These filaments expanded in size from their bases to their tips and released single cells as spores. At maturity, a second phase of growth occurred that produced a consolidated crust, up to $370{\mu}m$ thick. It consisted of a basal layer of small, tightly appressed ellipsoidal-to-elongate cells that generated a mucilaginous perithallial matrix containing a second type of filament with irregularly spaced cells often undergoing binary division. At the matrix surface, the original filaments continued to grow and release spores but often also eroded. Individual cells, examined using confocal microscopy and SYBR Green staining, were found to contain a central nucleus, a single highly lobed peripheral chloroplast without a pyrenoid, and numerous chloroplast nucleoids. Morphological data from field and culture isolates and molecular data (rbcL, psbA, and SSU) show that this alga is a new genus and species which we name Viator vitreocola, "a traveller on glass."

ECC 기반의 공개키 보안 프로토콜을 지원하는 보안 SoC (A Security SoC supporting ECC based Public-Key Security Protocols)

  • 모바일 장치와 IoT의 보안 프로토콜 구현에 적합한 경량 보안 SoC 설계에 대해 기술한다. Cortex-M0을 CPU로 사용하는 보안 SoC에는 타원곡선 암호 (elliptic curve cryptography) 코어, SHA3 해시 코어, ARIA-AES 블록 암호 코어 및 무작위 난수 생성기 (TRNG) 코어 등의 하드웨어 크립토 엔진들이 내장되어 있다. 핵심 연산장치인 ECC 코어는 SEC2에 정의된 20개의 소수체와 이진체 타원곡선을 지원하며, 부분곱 생성 및 가산 연산과 모듈러 축약 연산이 서브 파이프라인 방식으로 동작하는 워드 기반 몽고메리 곱셈기를 기반으로 설계되었다. 보안 SoC를 Cyclone-5 FPGA 디바이스에 구현하고 타원곡선 디지털 서명 프로토콜의 H/W-S/W 통합 검증을 하였다. 65-nm CMOS 셀 라이브러리로 합성된 보안 SoC는 193,312 등가 게이트와 84 kbyte의 메모리로 구현되었다.

Deuterium ion irradiation impact on the current-carrying capacity of DI-BSCCO superconducting tape

  • In the present work, we have irradiated the DI-BSCCO superconducting tapes with the 100 keV deuterium ions to investigate the effect of ion irradiation on their critical current (Ic). The damage simulations are carried out using the binary collision approximation method to get the spatial distribution and depth profile of the damage events in the high temperature superconducting (HTS) tape. The point defects are formed near the surface of the HTS tape. These point defects change the vortex profile in the superconducting tape. Due to the long-range interaction of vortices with each other, the Ic of the tape degrades at the 77 K and self magnetic field. The radiation dose of 2.90 MGy degrades the 44% critical current of the tape. The results of the displacement per atom (dpa) and dose deposited by the deuterium ions are used to fit an empirical relation for predicting the degradation of the Ic of the tape. We include the dpa, dose and columnar defect terms produced by the incident particles in the empirical relation. The fitted empirical relation predicts that light ion irradiation degrades the Ic in the DI-BSCCO tape at the self field. This empirical relation can also be used in neutron irradiation to predict the lifetime of the DI-BSCCO tape. The change in the Ic of the DI-BSCCO tape due to deuterium irradiation is compared with the other second-generation HTS tape irradiated with energetic radiation.

서울시 1인 가구의 코로나 19 전후 주거의 질 변화 연구: 인공신 경망과 로지스틱 회귀모형을 활용한 변수 중요도 및 인과관계 분석 (A Study on the Change of Quality in a Residential Sector of Single Person Households in Seoul during the COVID-19: Analyze Variable Importance and Causality with Artificial Neural Networks and Logistic Regression Analysis)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 서울시 1인 가구들의 코로나19 발생 전과 비교한 주거의 질 변화를 진단하고 이에 영향을 미치는 영향 요인에 대해 규명하는 것이다. 연구의 대상은 설문조사 응답자 가운데 서울시에 거주하는 1인 가구이며 인공신경망과 로지스틱 회귀모형을 사용하였다. 분석결과, 주거정책지원, 고용개선여부, 고용정책지원 요인 등이 1인 가구 주거의 질 변화에 중요 요인들로 나타났다. 서울시 1인 가구의 주거여건의 질 개선을 위한 정책적 지원 강화와 노력이 필요하며, 양질의 일자리 확대를 통한 고용난 해소는 주거 부문의 개선으로 이어질 것이다. 본 연구는 인공신경망이 가지는 블랙박스 특성과 인과관계를 규명하기 어려운 한계가 존재한다. 개선된 방법론으로 후속연구가 필요할 것이다.

재무분야 감성사전 구축을 위한 자동화된 감성학습 알고리즘 개발 (Developing the Automated Sentiment Learning Algorithm to Build the Korean Sentiment Lexicon for Finance)

  • Recently, many studies are being conducted to extract emotion from text and verify its information power in the field of finance, along with the recent development of big data analysis technology. A number of prior studies use pre-defined sentiment dictionaries or machine learning methods to extract sentiment from the financial documents. However, both methods have the disadvantage of being labor-intensive and subjective because it requires a manual sentiment learning process. In this study, we developed a financial sentiment dictionary that automatically extracts sentiment from the body text of analyst reports by using modified Bayes rule and verified the performance of the model through a binary classification model which predicts actual stock price movements. As a result of the prediction, it was found that the proposed financial dictionary from this research has about 4% better predictive power for actual stock price movements than the representative Loughran and McDonald's (2011) financial dictionary. The sentiment extraction method proposed in this study enables efficient and objective judgment because it automatically learns the sentiment of words using both the change in target price and the cumulative abnormal returns. In addition, the dictionary can be easily updated by re-calculating conditional probabilities. The results of this study are expected to be readily expandable and applicable not only to analyst reports, but also to financial field texts such as performance reports, IR reports, press articles, and social media.

An FPGA Implementation of High-Speed Flexible 27-Mbps 8-StateTurbo Decoder

  • In this paper, we propose a flexible turbo decoding algorithm for a high order modulation scheme that uses a standard half-rate turbo decoder designed for binary quadrature phase-shift keying (B/QPSK) modulation. A transformation applied to the incoming I-channel and Q-channel symbols allows the use of an off-the-shelf B/QPSK turbo decoder without any modifications. Iterative codes such as turbo codes process the received symbols recursively to improve performance. As the number of iterations increases, the execution time and power consumption also increase. The proposed algorithm reduces the latency and power consumption by combination of the radix-4, dual-path processing, parallel decoding, and early-stop algorithms. We implement the proposed scheme on a field-programmable gate array and compare its decoding speed with that of a conventional decoder. The results show that the proposed flexible decoding algorithm is 6.4 times faster than the conventional scheme.

  • The paper presents a technique to identify the boundary of the optic disc in infant retinal digital images using an approach based on active contours (snakes). The technique can be used to be develop a automate system in order to help the ophthalmologist's diagnosis the retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) disease which may occurred on preterm infant,. The optic disc detection is one of the fundamental step which could help to create an automate diagnose system for the doctors we use a new kind of active contour (snake) method has been developed by Chenyang et. al. [1], based on a new type of external force field, called gradient vector flow, or GVF. GVF is computed as a diffusion of the gradient vectors of a gray-level or binary edge map derived from the image. The testing results on a set of infant retinal ROP images verify the effectiveness of the proposed methods. We show that GVF has a large capture range and it's able to move snakes into boundary concavities of optic disc and finally the optic disk boundary was determined.

OPTICAL AND NIR PHOTOMETRY OF OPEN CLUSTER NGC 7790

  • We present BVRI CCD photometry and near-infrared K photometry of the intermediate-aged open cluster NGC 7790. The reddening, E(B - V) = 0.54 $\pm$ 0.05 and the distance modulus, (m - M)o = 12.45 $\pm$ 0.10 for the cluster were determined by zero-age-main-sequence fitting and theoretical isochrone fitting using not only (V, B - V), (V, V - 1), (V, V - R) but also (V, V - K) color-magnitude diagrams. The reddening corresponded approximately to the average value derived from previous studies, while the distance modulus was found to be almost midway between the CCD photometric results of Romeo et al. (1989) and those of Mateo & Madore (1988). We have used four colors to distinguish members from field stars. The expected colors were calculated using the derived distance modulus, and were then were compared with the observed colors (B - V), (V - 1), (V - R), and (V - K). Thus, a color excess E(B - V) for each star was determined which could give the minimum difference between the calculated and observed colors. Single and binary members of the cluster were determined on the basis of the E(B - V) distribution of stars.
