  • In this paper, we analyze self field effects of Bi-2223 tape-stacked cable assuming constant current density in the cross section of stacked cable. Generally, the critical current of Bi-2223 tape-stacked-cable in much less than the total summation of critical currents of each tape, which is mainly due to the self magnetic fields of the cable itself. Therefore, to predict the critical current of Bi-2223 tape-stacked-cable, we needs to analyze the self filed effects on the stacked cable as well as critical current density data(J$\_$C/) of one tape. To make it more complex, the critical current degradation of Bi-2223 tape is an-isotropic; the critical current is lower in the normal magnetic field(to the tape surface) than in the parallel field. In the paper, a novel approach to predict the critical current of a Bi-2223 tape-stacked-cable from a J$\_$C/-B curve of one tape is presented with the assumption of constant current density across the stacked cable, The approach basically includes the load analysis of the stacked tapes, and its usefulness is confirmed by the experimental data.

  • We measured the neutron capture cross-section of natural Sm(n,${\gamma}$) reaction in the energy regions from 0.003 to 10 eV. The 46-MeV electron linear accelerator of Research Reactor Institute, Kyoto University was used for generating a continuous neutron source. The neutron time-of-flight method was adopted for energy measurement. An assembly of BGO($Bi_4Ge_3O_{12}$) scintillators composed of 12 pieces of BGO crystals measured prompt gamma rays from Sm(n,${\gamma}$) reaction. The BGO assembly was located at a distance of $12.7{\pm}0.02m$ from the neutron source. In order to determine the neutron flux impinging on the Sm, the $^{10}B(n,{\alpha}{\gamma})^7Li$ standard cross-section were used. Natural Sm(n,${\gamma}$) reaction measurement result of the neutron capture cross-section was compared with the results of evaluation of the BROND-2.2 and the previous experimental data of J. C. Chou and V. N. Kononov.

  • This work reported the radiation shielding characteristic of the bismuth titanium vanadium sodium tellurite glass system. The density of the specially-developed glass samples was increased from 2.21 to 4.01 g/cm3 with the addition of Bi2O3, despite the fact the molar volume is decease within 85.43-54.79 cm3/mol. The WinXcom program was used to approximate the effect of Bi2O3 on the gamma radiation shielding parameters of bismuth titanium vanadium sodium tellurite glasses. The ㎛ values decrease with the increase of Bi2O3 concentration. The computed data shows that the glass sample with 20 mol.% of Bi2O3 content has the greatest radiation attenuation performance in comparison to other selected glasses. The Bi2O3-TiO2-V2O5-Na2O-TeO2 glass system shows excellent neutron shielding material with high long-term light transmittance and discharge resistance and could be potentially used as transparent radiation-resistant shielding glass applications.

  • We initiate the study of interval-valued fuzzy quasi-ideal of a semigroup. In Section 2, we list some basic definitions in the later sections. In Section 3, we investigate interval-valued fuzzy subsemigroups and in Section 4, we define interval-valued fuzzy quasi-ideals and establish some of their basic properties. In Section 5, we obtain characterizations of regular and intraregular semigroups using the machinery developed in the preceding sections.

  • A practical multi-spring model is proposed for a nonlinear analysis of reinforced concrete members, especially columns, taking into account the interaction of axial load and bi-directional bending moment. The parameters of the model are determined on the basis of material properties and section geometry. The axial force-moment interaction curve of reinforced concrete sections predicted by the model was shown to agree well with those obtained by the flexural analysis utilizing realistic stress-strain relations of materials. The reliability of the model was also examined with respect to the test of reinforced concrete columns subjected to varying axial load and bi-directional lateral load reversals. The analytical results agreed well with the experiment.

  • Bi-directional load test is one of O-cell tests. The O-cell test is a system which may be used for performing static load tests on cast in situ reinforced concrete bored piles. The technique was devised and developed by Osterberg of Northwestern University(USA) and has been in use around the world. The principle of the method is that an O-cell is installed in a cast in situ bored pile base. Once the pile concrete reaches its design strength the cell is connected to an hydraulic pump and pressured. Pressurisation causes the cell to expand, developing an upward force on the section of pile above the cell loads, pile movements and strains within the pile then enable the capacity of the pile and its load settlement curves to be ascertained. Bi-directional load tests using O-cell are now becoming common practice around the world, particularly where the loads to be applied are high or where it is not convenient to perform top-down loading tests. In the study, calculate ultimate capacity of bi-directional load test using FEM and beam on elasto-plastic foundation theory.

  • A spiral lattice girder-reinforced Bi-block sleeper which has enhanced durability against increasingly growing impact force and vibration by wheel load and improved structural performance while train runs at 350km/h high speed is hereby proposed. The section of a spiral lattice girder has stable and superior structural performance thanks to its confinement effect. To compare and analyze the structural performance of spiral lattice girder-reinforced bi-block sleeper, strain and stress distribution were evaluated after applying same load condition as existing triangular lattice girder-reinforced biblock sleeper, and to compare the structural performance of triangular lattice girder and spiral lattice girder, structural analysis of lattice girder was performed separately. As a result, a spiral lattice girder proved to have had superior structural characteristics to bi-block sleeper, and furthermore as a result of evaluating the fastener interface and constructibility with shape-improved lattice girder, no interference with existing railroad structure was found and in terms of cost efficiency, a spiral lattice girder appeared to be superior to existing lattice girder.

  • Business intelligence (BI) is a process for turning data into insights that inform an organization's strategic and tactical decisions. BI aims to give decision-makers the information they need to make better decisions Patient safety analysis, illness surveillance, and fraud identification are just a few healthcare decision-making processes that can be supported by data mining. Thus, the purpose of the current research is to outline the need if BI as an essential factor in the healthcare sector by reviewing various scholarly materials and the findings. The present author conducted one of the most famous qualitative literature approach which has been called as PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis) statement. The selecting criteria for eligible prior studies were estimated by whether studies are suitable for the current research, identifying they are peer-reviewed and issued by notable publishers between 2017 and 2022. According to the result based on the PRISMA analysis, BI plays a vital role in the healthcare sector and there are four business intelligence factors (Data, Analytic, Reporting, and Visualization) that will ensure that the healthcare sector provides the right healthcare services to the customers to be addressed in this section include; data, analytics, reporting, and visualization.

  • The collapse of reinforced concrete (RC) frame buildings is mainly caused by the failure of columns. To prevent brittle failure of RC column, numerous studies have been conducted on the seismic performance of strengthened RC columns. Concrete jacketing method, which is one of the retrofitting method of RC members, can enhance strength and stiffness of original RC column with enlarged section and provide uniformly distributed lateral load capacity throughout the structure. The experimental studies have been conducted by many researchers to analyze seismic performance of seismic strengthened RC column. However, structures which have plan and vertical irregularities shows torsional behavior, and therefore it causes large deformation on RC column when subjected to seismic load. Thus, test results from concentric cyclic loading can be overestimated comparing to eccentric cyclic test results, In this paper, two kinds of eccentric loading pattern was suggested to analyze structural performance of RC columns, which are strengthened by concrete jacketing method with new details in jacketed section. Based on the results, it is concluded that specimens strengthened with new concrete jacketing method increased 830% of maximum load, 150% of maximum displacement and changed the failure modes of non-strengthened RC columns.
