변연형태에 따른 IPS Empress 도재관의 적합도에 관한 연구 (A STUDY ON THE FITNESS OF THE IPS EMPRESS CERAMIC CROWN ACCORDING TO MARGIN TYPE)

  • The purpose of this study was to compare the fitness of the IPS Empress ceramic crowns according to margin type such as bevel, shoulder, rounded shoulder, shoulder with bevel, rounded shoulder with bevel and grooved bevel. After 10 experimental dies were constructed for each group, the IPS Empress ceramic crowns were fabricated on the dies, cemented with resin cement(Bistite resin cement, Tokuyama Soda Co. Ltd., Japan) and embeded in clear epoxy resin. Each specimen was sectioned with a low speed diamond saw in both the faciopalatal and the mesiodistal direction. The cement film thickness was measured with a measuring microscope. The obtained results were as follows : 1. The fitness at the external margin was good in the following order: rounded shoulder(28.99), shoulder with bevel(31.33), grooved bevel(31.79), rounded shoulder with bevel(34.65), bevel(35.02) and shoulder(35.08). However there is no significant statistical difference. 2. The fitness at the internal margin of bevel(25.75), rounded shoulder(31.24), shoulder with bevel(32.07) and rounded shoulder with bevel(34.45) was better than that of shoulder(47.98). 3. The fitness at the axial surface of bevel(26.58) was better than that of shoulder(49.59). 4. The fitness at the central fossa was good in the following order: shoulder with bevel(38.88), grooved bevel(40.46) rounded shoulder with shoulder(46.29), shoulder(48.91), bevel(49.47) and rounded bevel(52.07). However there is no significant statistical difference. 5. Overall fitness of bevel(29.71), rounded shoulder(32.49) and shoulder with bevel(34.47) was better than that of shoulder(44.73).

스파이럴과 스트레이트 베벨기어 가공 시 비용 및 생산성 비교연구 (Comparative Study of the Manufacturing Cost and Productivity of Spiral and Straight Bevel Gear)

  • The tractor front axle has the lower standard for noise and vibration relatively and it increase the possibility to develop of the alternative straight bevel gear of the expensive spiral bevel gear. The purpose of this paper is to compare of the spiral vs. the straight bevel gear manufacturing process. The manufacturing cost and productivity are compared after the spiral bevel gear of the tractor front axle is replaced of to the straight bevel gear. If spiral bevel gear is replaced to straight bevel gear, the cost is reduce 4.6% and productivity is increase 18%.

동력전달용 베벨기어의 강도평가 및 설계시스템 개발 (1) -AGMA규격 강도기준설계법- (Development of Strength Estimation and Design System of Power Transmission Bevel Gears(I) -A Disign Method Based on Strength and Durability in AGMA Standards-)

  • A design system for power transmission bevel gears(straight, zerol, and spiral) is developed, in which the strength and durability of bevel gears can be estimated and the size of bevel gears can be minimized by introducing optimal techniques. The size of bevel gear pair as the object function to be minimized is the volume of equivalent spur gear pair at mean normal section, and the design variables to be determined are considered as the number of teeth, face width, diametral pitch, and spiral angle in spiral bevel gear. The strength(bending strength, pitting resistance) according to the AGMA standards, geometrical quantities, and operating characteristics(interference of pinion, contact ratio, etc.) are considered as the constraints in design optimization. The optimization with these constraints becomes nonlinear problem and that is solved with ALM(Augmented Lagrange Multiplier) method. The developed design method is applied to the example designs of straight, zerol, and spiral bevel gears. The design results are acceptable from the viewpoint of strength and durability within the design ranges of all other constraint, and the bevel gears are designed toward minimizing the size of gear pair. This design method is easily applicable to the design of bevel gears used as power transmitting devices in machineries, and is expected to be used for weight minimization of bevel gear unit.

  • In this paper, factors affecting accuracy or grade of forged bevel gears are investigated in the experimental way. Two materials of SKD-11 and copper. two machining conditions and two machines of WIA-V50 and Roders-RFM600 are particularly investigated to reveal their effects on the grade of bevel gear forging dies in this study. It has been shown that the bevel gear grades are much affected by all the factors tested, revealing that it is of great significance to find the optimal machining process of die making to develop or manufacture a high precision bevel gear and that the bevel gear is degraded by one from the grade of its related die during forging.

박육직교축 치차의 설계에 관한 기초적 연구 (Study on the Design of Thin Intersected Axe Gear)

  • The various configuration of thin-shaped bevel gears are used usually for such as main reduction gear of the hovercraft. But the reasonable and concise guide to thedesign of the se bevel gears is not yet obtained, since the tooth of bevel gear has complex form. The purpose of these investigation is to be establish the design guide and to propose the desirable configuration form for thin-shaped straight bevel gear. In this report, the desirable configuration is examined experimentally by clearing up the effect of web and rim thickness, rim support condition upon the load distribution and root stress distribution along the tooth trace. The results are summarized as follows. (1) The crowning of tooth trace exerts a significant effect on the root stress distribution of thin-shaped bevel gear. (2) As the desirable configuration of the thin-shaped bevel gear, it is to be recommended that the rim is supported at the heel side of tooth trace. (3) But, as special type, it is desirable that the rim is supported at the toe side.

구형 인볼루트 베벨기어에 대한 실험적 연구 (The Experimental Investigation of the Spherical Involute Bevel Gear)

  • For exact spherical involute bevel gear, serveral researchers had developed the mathematical models. The solid models of straight bevel gears are obtained and inspected to avoid interference by computer graphics. Furthermore, A gearbox is assembled by spherical involute bevel gears, which are manufactured by CNC machine. The transmission errors in the tooth mesh are measured by Laser sensor, are compared with the AGMA standard. This gearbox is found to be ranked AGMA Q10(JIS 3)

  • In this paper, we developed an automated program for the design and machining of spiroid bevel gear. A computer program employing the theory of gearing between gear and pinion is developed to design gear mechanism. A new method for machining spiro야 bevel gears is proposed, and effectively used for an example.

  • Recently, 3D printer technologies have been used in many research efforts for high precision manufacturing. In particular, the rapid prototyping technology has been developing rapidly, because it can be manufactured in a short time with a 3D designed shape. This paper relates to the production characteristics of the straight bevel gear designed using a 3D print using the PolyJet method. The characteristics of a 3D printed straight bevel gear were compared with a machined straight bevel gear. The accuracy of the produced straight bevel gear was evaluated by backlash, meshing pattern, face angle, root angle, and surface roughness.

  • Bevel gears are important mechanical parts to transmit power in transportation system high precision parts like bevel gears might be manufactured by closed die forging process for dimensional accuracy. Closed die forging of bevel gears offers the high quality and good mechanical properties and also leads to considerable cost saving. To determinate the proper closed-die forging process for bevel gear forms, three-dimensional finite element simulation for the progressive forging process was earned out and also the simulation results were compared with experimental results.

쇼트피닝에 의한 자동차용 베벨기어의 피로설계 (Fatigue Design of Bevel Gear for Automobile by Shot Peening)

  • The fatigue characteristics of bevel gear used for differential gear of automobile was investigated in this paper. From the A-N(Almen intensity-Number of fracture)curve of bevel gear it was shown that there was a specific time that have a maximum fatigue life. Optimal peening condition was 65m/s of project velocity and 8min of project time. Fatigue life was also investigated from the S-N curve between optimal peened specimen and unpeened specimen. Another very significant point is that the crack initiation of bevel gear by shot peening was generated in the subsurface from fractography. This paper shows that shot peening process tremendously improve fatigue characteristics of bevel gear.
