Hydrogeological survey related to groundwater condifiors was performed at the study area in Gyukpo, BuanGun, ChunlabukDo to express the relationships between groundwater conditions and the geologic structures such as joints, faults and beddings in bedrock About 200 joints and sjgnfficant faults were measured in this area. Typically, The fracture analysis on cores of 7 boreholes was tried to quantify fracture numerically. Groundwater level was periodically measured for three months. The packer tests of about 175 were carried out in 7 boreholes. As the result, Fractures are locaHy developed as ground water bearing zone and an average hydraulic conductivity of bedrock is $1{\times}10^{-5}cm/sec$ in this area the hydraulic conductivity of this area is correlated with fracture frequency value of F15 and is also well correlated with fracture developed and depth. In accordance with depth, fracture frequency and hydraulic conductivity are decreased. Hydraulic conductivity of granite along depth shows an obiouse change in values but that of sedimentary rocks do not shows changeless. Groundwater movement in the bedrocks of the study area affected not by joints but faults developed in the different rock boundary. In the northern part of this area, The differences of hydraulic conductivity between granite and sedimentary rocks give rise abrsspt at difference in groundwater leveL In the southern part of the study area, there is no different in groundwater level of both same rock types.

Hamangun Dohangri $6^{th}$ tumulus was characterized by using geological, geophysical, and geotechnical surveys in terms of the shape of the tombs, origin and geotechnical properties of tomb materials, safety of grave mound and burial chamber. The bedrock (Haman Formation sedimentary rock) forming the ground of the tomb, is weathered such that men can excavate the ground. The mound tomb is classified into soil part and rock part by low resistivity and high resistivity, respectively, through electrical resistivity survey. The burial chamber is mostly made by Haman Formation while some part is composed of granitic rock that is distributed in the most southern district of the study area. According to soil tests, the soil part of mound tomb shows low water content, low pore ratio, and proper unit weight that indicate highly compacted material. Additionally, the mound tomb is safe because the strength of the rock part of the mound tomb exceeds that of general rock.
A numerical model and field monitoring data are used to estimate a change in groundwater level at a borrow site, which will be constructed at the mountainous area with a large ground excavation in the study area, Hwaseong city. Lithologic data and hydraulic coefficients are collected at 9 boreholes and also groundwater levels are measured at these boreholes and existing wells in the study area. Additionally, groundwater recharge rate for the type of land cover is estimated using water budget analysis; 133.34mm/year for a mountainous area, 157.68mm/year for a farming area, 71.08mm/year for an urbanized area, and 26.06mm/year for a bedrock exposure area. The change in groundwater level in and around a borrow site is simulated with Modflow using these data. The result of a transient model indicates that a removal of high ground (over 40El.m) by an excavation will produce a decrease in groundwater levels, up to 1 m, around a borrow site in 10 years. It also explains that this ground excavation will bring about the decreases of 9.4% and 7.0% for groundwater recharge and surface runoff, respectively, which are the factors causing groundwater level's change. This study shows that it is required to construct the groundwater monitoring wells to observe the change of groundwater near a borrow site.
As urban infrastructure is aging, the possibility of accidents due to the failures or breakdowns of infrastructure increases. Especially, aging underground infrastructures like sewer pipes, waterworks, and subway have a potential to cause an urban ground sink. Urban ground sink is defined just as a local and erratic collapse occurred by underground cavity due to soil erosion or soil loss, which is separated from a sinkhole in soluble bedrock such as limestone. The conventional measurements such as differential settlement gauge, inclinometer or earth pressure gauge have a shortcoming just to provide point measurements with short coverage. Therefore, these methods are not adequate for monitoring of an erratic subsidence caused by underground cavity due to soil erosion or soil loss which occurring at unspecified time and location. Therefore, an alternative technology is required to detect a change of underground physical condition in real time. In this study, the feasibility of a novel magnetic resonance based monitoring method is investigated through laboratory tests, where the changes of path loss (S21) were measured under various testing conditions: media including air, water, and soil, resonant frequency, impedance, and distances between transmitter (TX) and receiver (RX). Theoretically, the transfer characteristic of magnetic field is known to be independent of the density of the medium. However, the results of the test showed the meaningful differences in the path loss (S21) under the different conditions of medium. And it is found that the reflection coefficient showed the more distinct differences over the testing conditions than the path loss. In particular, input reflection coefficient (S11) is more distinguishable than output reflection coefficient (S22).

During rainfall period, to identify the characteristics of the infiltration of moisture, electrical resistivity monitering survey was carried out to weathered zone. Four regions of geophysical exploration areas with different rock types, four regions were selected. An area consists of mafic granite and three areas are composed of sedimentary rocks (Sandstone, Shale, Unconsolidated Mudstone). Survey was conducted from June (rainy season) to November (dry season), and during the period the change in resistivity was observed. According to the result of monitoring exploration on Geumjeong and Jinju areas, for the estimation of the standard rainfall, it is necessary to estimate the effects of the antecedent rainfall during the rainy season based on the overall rainfall from June till October and also necessary to consider this for the estimation of the half period. Also, the vertical distribution of the low resistivity anomaly zone does not show that the infiltration of moisture does not occur uniformly from the surface of the ground to the lower ground but shows that it occurs along the relaxed gap of the crack or soil stratum of the weathering zone. In Pohang area, the type of moisture infiltration is different from that of the granite or sedimentary rock. Since, after the rainfall, the rate of infiltration to the lower ground is high and the period of cultivation to the lower bedrock aquifer is short, it has similar effect to that of the antecedent rainfall applied for the estimation of the standard rainfall being presently used. In Danyang, due to the degree of water content of the ground, the duration period of the low resistivity anomaly zone observed in the lower ground of the place where clastic sedimentary rock is distributed is similar to that in Pohang area. The degree of lateral water diffusion at the time of localized heavy rain is the same as that of the sedimentary rock in Jinju. According to the above analysis results, in Danyang area, the period when the antecedent rainfall has its influence is estimated as three weeks or so.

This study examined the settlement of a 1-2W type greenhouse using a timber pile, which was recently established on Gyehwa-do reclaimed land, in order to obtain base data for the construction of a greenhouse on reclaimed land. The results of this study are as follows. foundation and timber pile increased over time, irrespective of the interior and exterior of the upon investigation of the ground, it was confirmed that there was no soft rock stratum (bedrock), and that a sedimentary stratum existed under the fill deposit, which is estimated to have been reclaimed during the site renovation. It was also found that a weathered zone was located under the fill deposit and sedimentary stratum, and that the soil texture of the entire ground floor consisted of clay mixed with sand, silty clay, and granite gneiss, in that order, regardless of boreholes. In addition, the underground water level was 0.3m below ground, regardless of boreholes. Despite a slight difference, the settlement of the greenhouse or measurement sites (channels). With regard to the pillar inside the greenhouse, except in the case of CH-2, the data at a site located on the side wall of the greenhouse (wind barrier side) indicated vibrations of relatively larger amplitude. Moreover, the settlement showed a significant increase during a certain period, which was subsequently somewhat reversed. Based on these phenomena, it was verified that the settlement range of each site in the interior and exterior of the greenhouse was between 1.0 and 7.5mm at this time, except in the case of CH-1. The results of the regression analysis indicated good correlation, with the coefficient of determination by site ranging between 0.6362 and 0.9340. Furthermore, the coefficient of determination ranged between 0.6046 and 0.8822 on the exterior of the greenhouse, which is lower than inside the greenhouse, but still indicates significant correlation.

The present study describes the spawning ecology and early morphological development of Hemitripterus villosus. The natural spawning ground consisted of bedrock and pebbles was the intertidal coast at Taean (Chungnam) and its depth was about 5~10 m. Spawning period was mainly from the end of October to December, when the water temperature and salinity were $6.0{\sim}15.8^{\circ}C$ and mean 32.0‰, respectively. There were no difference of the body shape and color between female and male of Hemitripterus villosus, however its reproductive organs showed clear differences. The male had tube shaped genital papilla, which was connected with testis, and the female had seminal recepacle, which was the lower part of oviduct connected with ovary. Genital papilla of male came out of its body at spawning period and then male copulated. After copulation, female stored the sperm in its seminal recepacle and fertilized when it spawned. Fertilized eggs were reached 8 cells stage after fertilization at rearing water temperature $8.2{\sim}14.9^{\circ}C$. At 29 hours after fertilization, it reached morula stage, and at 146 hours after fertilization, its embryo was clearly formated. Hatching was begun from 1,488 hours (62 days) after fertilization with $8.2{\sim}14.9^{\circ}C$ water temperature. The newly hatched larvae were 12.99~15.46mm(mean $14.16{\pm}0.65$ mm) in TL (Total Length), and its mouth and anus were open. At 7 days after hatching, its yolk sac was completely absorbed and the myotomes were 15+25=40, measuring 15.23~15.54mm(mean $15.39{\pm}0.22$ mm, n=5) in TL. At 75~80 days after hatching, it was measured mean $30.06{\pm}0.76$ mm in TL, and it had reached the juvenile stage with the complete set of fin rays.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the mechanism about damages occurring at quay wall and backfill in Youngilman Port during Pohang earthquake (M5.4) on November 15, 2017. In the field investigation, the horizontal displacement of the caisson occurred between 5 cm and 15 cm, and the settlement at backfill occurred higher than 10 cm. 2D-effective Stress Analysis was performed to clarify the mechanism for the damage. The input earthquake motion used acceleration ($3.25m/s^2$) measured at bedrock of Pohang habor. Based on a numerical analysis, it was found that the effective stress decreased due to the increase of excess pore pressure in the backfill ground and the horizontal displacement of the caisson occurred by about 14 cm, and the settlement occurred by about 3 cm. In backfill, the settlements occurred between 6 cm and 9 cm. This is similar to field investigation results. Also, it was found that the backfill soil was close to the Mohr-Coulomb failure line due to the cyclic loading from the effective stress path and the stress-strain behavior. It may be related to decreasing of bearing capacity induced by the reduction of effective stress caused by the increase of the excess pore water pressure.

The aim in this study is used to develop the remediation technologies for contaminated ground water. Slug, single well pumping and step-drawdown tests have been used to obtain hydraulic parameter estimates in the field. Slug tests yield hydraulic conductivity values using the Bouwer and Rice and C-B-P analysis methods. The mean and median hydraulic conductivity values of Bouwer and Rice method are $4.48{\times}10^{-3}$ and $1.16{\times}10^{-3}cm/sec$, respectively. On the other hand, C-B-P method gave mean and median hydraulic conductivity values of $2.37{\times}10^{-3}$ and $7.09{\times}10^{-4}cm/sec$, respectively. These analyses show a trend for the Bouwer and Rice method to yield lower hydraulic conductivity values in low permeability zones of granite in the study area. Sing well pumping test data were calculated through type curve in GW7, GW12 and MW9 wells. It could be interpreted that the differences of hydraulic conductivity and transmissivity values between GW7 and GW12, MW9 is related with fault clays and fractures in the bedrock among the wells. Step-drawdown tests were carried out in the KDPW1 and KDPW2 wells. The hydraulic parameter of KDPW1 and KDPW2 showed very litter difference between the values. The study of hydraulic parameter estimates can be used to purify in contaminated groundwater.
To determine the shallow subsurface structure and sliding surface of land creeping in 2016 at Hadong-gun, Gyeongsangnam-do, geophysical surveys (electric resistivity, and refraction seismic methods, borehole televiewer) and slope stability analysis were conducted. The subsurface structure delineated with borehole lithologies and seismic velocity structures provided the information that the sediment layer on the top of the slope was rather as thick as 20 m and the underlying weathered rock (anorthosite) was thinner than 1 m. Based on the tension cracks observed during the geological mapping, televiewer scanning was performed at the borehole BH-2 and detected the intensive fracture zones at the ground-water level, associated with the slip weak zones mapped in dipole-dipole electrical resistivity section. Downslope sliding and slightly upward pushing at the apex of high resistive bedrock explains the curved slip plane of the land creeping. Such a convex structure might play a role of natural toe abutment for preventing the downward development of slip weak zones. In slope stability analysis, the safety factors of the slip weak zone are calculated with varying the groundwater levels for dry and rainy seasons and the downslope is founded to be unstable with safety factor of 0.89 due to fully saturated material in rainy season.
