링레이저 자이로의 바이어스 안정도 개선을 위한 몸체진동 잡음 연구 (ft Study on the Dither Random Noise for Improving the Bias Stability of Ring Laser Gyroscope)

  • In this paper we confirm the relation between the phases and phase errors of the beat signal at the lock-in region of the amplitude modulation type ring laser gyroscope by numerical calculation. Based on this facts, we, numerically, study the envelopes and magnitudes of the dither noise for statistically summing out the beat signal phase error, and we, experimently, confirm these numerical results. As a result, we find that the dither noise requires the increase gradient and the decrease gradient of the dither amplitudes, and those gradients should be combined with white noise. The magnitude of the dither noise which is satisfied with these requirements should be more than 5 percents of the average dither amplitude.

  • Liquefied Natural Gas takes up six hundredths of the volume of natural gas, which makes storage and transportation much easier. To send out natural gas via a pipeline network across the nation, high pressure LNG pumps supply highly compressed LNG to high-pressure vaporization facilities. The Number of high Pressure LNG pumps determined the send out amount in LNG receiving terminal. So it is main equipment at LNG production process and should be maintained on best conditions. In this paper, to find out the cause of high beat vibration at cryogenic pumps, vibration and motor current analysis have been performed. And high beat vibration of cryogenic pumps could be reduced due to the modification of motor rotor.

맥놀이 현상을 이용한 구조물 진동 가진 (Structure Excitation by Using Beating)

  • To detect faults and monitor thinning on a pipe, many people use ultra sonic sensors that are operated in high frequency range. Because there are many modes in high frequency range, it is difficult to find faults and monitor pipe thinning on a structure. If we deal with signals in a low frequency range which include only A0 wave and S0 wave, the information of monitoring and diagnosis can be easily obtained. In this paper, the technique for exciting low frequency range using ultra sonic sensors is proposed. The main idea of the proposed method comes from the beat phenomenon. The beat frequency is equal to the absolute value of the difference in frequency of the two waves. If the beat frequency is tuned by two ultra waves, we can excite A0 mode and S0 mode of structures. To verify the proposed method, we have performed a steel plate and pipe experiments. Experimental results show that two ultra sonic sensors can well excite low frequency range.

A Pacemaker AutoSense Algorithm with Dual Thresholds

  • A pacemaker autosense algorithm with dual thresholds. one for noise or tachyarrhythmia detection (noise threshold, NT) and the other for intrinsic beat detection (sensing threshold. ST), was developed to improve the sensing performance in single pass VDD electrograms. unipolar electrograms, or atrial fibrillation detection. When a deflection in an electrogram exceeds the NT (defined as 50% of 57), the autosense algorithm with dual thresholds checks if the deflection also exceeds the ST. If it does, the autosense algorithm calculates the signal to noise ratio (SNR) of the deflection to the highest deflection detected by NT but lower than ST during the last cardiac cycle. If the SNR 2, the autosense algorithm declares an intrinsic beat detection and calculates the next ST based on the three most recent intrinsic peaks. If the SNR $\geq$2, the autosense algorithm checks the number of deflections detected by NT during the last cardiac cycle in order to determine if it is a noise detection or tachyarrhythmia detection. Usually the autosense algorithm tries to set the 57 at 37.5% of the average of the three intrinsic beats, although it changes the percentage according to event classifications. The autosense algorithm was tested through computer simulation of atrial electrograms from 5 patients obtained during EP study, to simulate a worst sensing situation. The result showed that the ST levels for autosense algorithm tracked the electrogram amplitudes properly, providing more noise immunity whenever necessary. Also, the autosense algorithm with dual thresholds achieved sensing performance as good as the conventional fixed sensitivity method that was optimized retrospectively.

IBM PC를 이용한 심장 박동 간격의 측정 (Heart beat interval measurement using an IBM PC)

  • This article develops a cost-effective and accurate measurement system for heart best intervals. The system is composed of an analog to digital (A/D) converter, an IBM personal computer (an 8088 microprocessor, an 8253-5 timer, an 8259A interrupt controller, and memories) and assembler programs for controlling these hardware components. An exponential smoothing algorithm effectively reduced noise effects from A/D converted electrocardiogram (ECG) signals influenced by 60 Hz alternating current (AC). The system can collect 15000 heart beat intervals with an 1/5400 second unit.

구동 점탄성 벨트의 비선형진동 (Nonlinear Vibration of Running Viscoelastic Belts)

  • The nonlinear vibration of moving viscoelastic belts excited by the eccentricity of pulleys is investigated through experimental and analytical methods. Laboratory measurements demonstrate the nonlinearities in the responses of the belt particularly in the resonance region and with the variation of tension, The measurements of the belt motion are made using noncontact laser sensors. Jump and hysteresis phenomenon are observed experimentally and were studied with a model. which considers the nonlinear relation of belt stretch. An ordinary differential equation is derived as a working form of the belt equation of motion, Numerical results show good agreements with the experimental observations, which demonstrates the nonlinearity of viscoelastic moving belts.

Late Potential의 검출을 위한 고해상도 심전계의 개발 (Development of a High-Resolution Electrocardiography for the Detection of Late Potentials)

  • Most of the conventional electrocardiowaphs foil to detect signals other than P-QRS-T due to the limited SNR and bandwidth. High-resolution electrocardiography(HRECG) provides better SNR and wider bandwidth for the detection of micro-potentials with higher frequency components such as vontricular late potentials(LP). We have developed a HRECG using uncorrected XYZ lead for the detection of LPs. The overall gain of the amplifier is 4000 and the bandwidth is 0.5-300Hz without using 60Hz notch filter. Three 16-bit A/D converters sample X, Y, and Z signals simultaneously with a sampling frequency of 2000Hz. Sampled data are transmitted to a PC via a DMA-controlled, optically-coupled serial communication channel. In order to further reduce the noise, we implemented a signal averaging algorithm that averaged many instances of aligned beats. The beat alignment was carried out through the use of a template matching technique that finds a location maximizing cross-correlation with a given beat tem- plate. Beat alignment error was reduced to $\pm$0.25ms. FIR high-pass filter with cut-off frequency of 40Hz was applied to remove the low frequency components of the averaged X, Y, and Z signals. QRS onset and end point were determined from the vector magnitude of the sigrlaIL and some parameters needed to detect the existence of LP were estimated. The entire system was designed for the easy application of the future research topics including the optimal lead system, filter design, new parameter extraction, etc. In the developed HRECG, without signal averaging, the noise level was less than 5$\mu$V$_rms RTI$. With signal averaging of at least 100 beats, the noise level was reduced to 0.5$\mu$V$_rms RTI$, which is low enough to detect LPs. The developed HRECG will provide a new advanced functionality to interpretive ECG analyzers.

링레이저 자이로의 출력오차 최소화를 위한 불규칙 몸체진동잡음 연구 (A study on the dither random noise to minimize the output error of ring laser gyroscope)

  • 본 논문에서는 몸체진동형 링레이저 자이로에서 레이저 공진기에 인가되는 입력 각속도가 lock-in 영역에 있을 때 발생하는 맥놀이신호 위상오차의 크기는 맥놀이신호의 위상에 관계된다는 것을 수치해석적인 계산을 통하여 확인하였다. 그리고 그 오차가 누적되지 않고 통계적 평균값이 영이 되도록 하기 위하여 몸체진동의 진폭을 변화시키는 몸체진동잡음 인가방식에 대한 요구조건을 연구하였다. 그 결과 몸체진동잡음에는 진폭을 증가시키고 감소시키는 진폭경사가 필요하고 여기에 유사 백색잡음을 첨가해주어야 하며 진폭경사의 기울기 및 진폭의 최대값과 최소값을 불규칙적으로 변화시켜야 됨을 알 수 있었다. 그리고 이러한 조건을 만족하는 것과 그렇지 않은 몸체진동잡음을 이용하여 자이로를 동작시키면서 주변온도의 변화에 의하여 나타나는 출력변화를 비교함으로서 몸체진동잡음에 의하여 오차가 누적되는 특성을 확인하였다.

리듬분석과 비트매칭을 통한 조기심실수축(PVC) 검출 (The Detection of PVC based Rhythm Analysis and Beat Matching)

  • 조기심실수축(Premature Ventricular Contractions, PVC)은 부정 맥 중 가장 빈번히 나타나는 심장질환으로 위험한 상황으로 발전할 가능성을 가지고 있다. 따라서 이의 검출은 심장질환에 대한 예방과 추후 발생여부에 대한 기초조사로서 매우 중요하다. 지금까지 PVC를 검출하는 많은 방법이 연구되어 왔으나 기존의 방법들은 잡음의 영향을 많이 받고 P파의 존재 유무에 의존적이기 때문에 검출의 정확도가 떨어지며, 처리시간이 많이 소요되기 때문에 실시간 검출에는 많은 어려움이 따른다. 이러한 문제점을 극복하기 위해 본 논문에서는 리듬분석과 비트매칭을 통한 PVC검출 방법을 제안한다. 이를 위해 전처리 과정 후 R 파를 검출하고, RR 간격의 리듬분석과 QRS 폭간격의 비트 매칭을 통해 비트 유형을 결정하는 알고리즘을 개발하였다. 제안한 알고리즘의 R파 및 PVC 검출 성능을 평가하기 위해 MIT-BIH 부정맥 데이터베이스를 사용하였다. 성능평가 결과, R파의 sensitivity는 99.74%, positive predictivity는 99.81%, PVC의 sensitivity는 93.91%, Positive predictivity는 96.48%의 검출 결과를 나타내었다.

  • This paper theoretically demonstrates that our proposed method improves the Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) of significantly increase the number of acceptable optical signals in FDMA(SCMA) systems. This method reduced Optical Beat Interference(OBI) by using CDMA.
