Synthesis of Zirconium Oxide Nanoballs Using Colloid-Imprinted Carbon and Their Electrical Properties

  • Uniform ZrO2 nanoballs were synthesized at 700℃ using the inverse replication method through a colloid-imprinted carbon (CIC) template. The structural, dielectric, and conducting properties of the ZrO2 nanoballs were investigated and compared with those of ZrO2 film prepared by sol-gel method and powdered ZrO2 chemical. Both the monoclinic and cubic phases were found in the ZrO2 balls and film but the ZrO2 chemical showed a monoclinic phase, where the cubic structure is known to be formed at above 2,300℃. ZrO2 nanoballs showed the lower dielectric property of k = 21.2 at 1 MHz because the 8-coordinated cubic phase in the ZrO2 nanoball produced lower polarization than the polarization of the 7-coordinated monoclinic ZrO2 chemical (k = 23.6). The dielectric stability was maintained in each ZrO2 ball, film, and chemical under the applied forward and reverse voltage range (−5 to +5 V) at 1 MHz. The ionic conductivities were 7.86 × 10−8/Ω·cm for ZrO2 nanoballs, 3.29 × 10−8/Ω·cm for ZrO2 chemical, and 6.70 × 10−5/Ω·cm for the thickness of 1,053 nm ZrO2 film at room temperature with the electronic contribution being less than 0.006%.

음용수중의 중금속흡착과 항균성용 세라믹 볼의 제조 및 특성평가 (Preparations and characteristics of the ceramic balls for heavy metals absorption and antibacterial activities in the drinking water)

  • [ $20{\sim}40nm$ ] 크기의 Ag 콜로이드가 첨가된 세라믹 볼을 이용하여 음용수중의 중금속 흡착 및 항균성에 대한 특성을 평가하였다. 다공성이 우수한 세라믹 볼을 제조하기 위한 조건은 다음과 같다. 즉, 출발원료: 85wt%의 $Ca_{10}(PO_4)_6(OH)_2$, 바인더: 5wt%의 PVA 및 15wt%의 $\alpha-Ca_3(PO_4)_2$, 열처리온도: $1000^{\circ}C$, 반응시간: 3시간 이었다. 이와 같은 조건에서 얻어진 세라믹 볼은 비표면적이 $110m^2/g$ 이었으며, $120{\mu}m$의 기공크기와 80%의 기공율을 나타내었다. 그리고 AAS를 이용하여 음용수중의 중금속 흡착 제거율에 대한 성능시험을 행한 결과, Zn, Mn, Cu, Fe와 같은 중금속이 담지 1일 후 0.03mg/l 이하로 제거 되었으며, 침적시간 3시간 후에는 대장균이 모두 멸균되는 우수한 살균력을 나타내었다.

오일 함침된 나노 기공 산화알루미늄 필름의 마찰 거동 (Friction Behavior of Oil-enriched Nanoporous Anodic Aluminum Oxide Film)

  • Friction behavior of nanoporous anodic aluminum oxide(AAO) film was investigated. A 60 ${\mu}m$ thick AAO film having nanopores of 45 nm diameter with 105 nm interpore-diatance was fabricated by mild anodization process. The AAO film was then saturated with paraffinic oil. Reciprocating ball-on-flat sliding friction tests using 1 mm diameter steel ball as the counterpart were carried out with normal load ranging from 0.1 N to 1 N in an ambient environment. The morphology of worn surfaces were analyzed using scanning electron microscopy. The friction coefficient significantly increased with the increase of load. The boundary lubrication layer of paraffinic oil contributed to the lower friction at relatively low load (0.1 N), but it is less effective at high load (1 N). Plastic deformed layer patches were formed on the worn surface of oil-enriched AAO at relatively low load (0.1 N) without evidence of tribochemical reaction. On the other hand, thick tribolayers were formed on the worn surface of both oil-enriched and as-prepared AAO at relatively high load (1 N) due to tribochemical reaction and material transfer.

  • 농산폐자원을 이용하기 위한 방법으로써 Trichoderma sp. KI 7-2로 만든 koji와 내열성 효모를 사용하여 동시당화-발효와 당화액 발효를 비교하였다. 볏짚의 당화액에서는 15 mg/$m\ell$의 cellobiose가 존재하였으나 동일한 효소원을 사용한 동시당화-발효액에서는 존재하지 않았다. 효소당화법에서 는 cellulase enzyme system의 반응산물인 glucose가 cellobiose의 활성을 저해하므로 cellobiose 가 축적되었으나 동시당화-발효법에서 는 glucose가 ethanol로 발효되어 cellobiose의 축적이 없었다. Cutting mill 한 볏짚은 동시 당화-발효 과정에서는 ball mill 한 것과 같은 정도로 효과적으로 발효되었다. 이 결과로부터 cellylolytic enzyme system의 반응산물에 의한 저해 mechanism을 논의하였다. 또한 볏짚 당화시 약 10 mg/$m\ell$ 생산되는 xylose는 동시당화-발효에 아무런 영향을 미치지 않음을 확인하였다.

SCM415강을 이용한 경도가공 특성 (Hardness Machining Characteristics using the SCM415 Still)

  • In this study, the cutting conditions of moving speed, number of main axial revolutions, etc. are changed for the chrome molybdenum steel (SCM415) material and carbide ball end mill tool to study the changes for processing intensity in the cutting process. The results that confirm the intensity of the measured value of the specimen for SCM415 display the intensity with an average 1.0667 HrC. After the fact cutter, it was able to confirm the average intensity of 8.3815 HrC. In addition, the intensity value after image processing may determine the average intensity survey value of 5.8690 HrC and the different intensity values with image processing after face cutting are shown for an average of ${\pm}2.5125HrC$. The different value of intensity with the specimen and image processing is confirmed for an average of 4.8024 HrC. The results of comparing the intensity following the number of main axial revolutions and moving speed show that the intensity is highest for 3,000 rpm and F200, and lowest for 4,000 rpm and F200.

3D 프린팅된 표면의 슬라이딩 방향에 따른 트라이볼로지적 특성 연구 (A Study on Tribological Properties of 3D-Printed Surface with Respect to Sliding Orientation)

  • This paper presents an experimental investigation of friction and wear characteristic with respect to patterns occurring on the surface of 3D printed polymer products by fused deposition modeling method. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of the patterns and sliding directions on the tribological properties of 3D printed polymer surface. A cubic specimen was printed using polylactic acid filament as the printing material. Friction tests were conducted for different directions with respect to the patterns that were generated on the top and the side surfaces of the specimen, by using a ball-on-reciprocating type tribotester. SUJ2 bearing ball of which the diameter was 11 times greater than the width of the largest pattern was used as the counter surface to assess the frictional behavior. Friction tests were conducted on the top and the side surfaces with respect to the patterns in 3 (0°, 45°, 90°) different directions respectively. Coefficient of friction increased as cycles increased in all cases. The results of the tests showed that the lowest coefficient of friction was measured with the 45° sliding direction on the side surface. The wear rate was the lowest at 45° sliding direction on the side surface, while it was the highest at 0° sliding direction on the top surface. Coefficient of friction of about 0.45 was determined to be the converging value on the top compared to the side surface.

  • Dispersions of non-soluble ceramic particles in a metallic matrix can enhance the strength and heat resistance of materials. With the advent of mechanical alloying it became possible to put the theoretical concept into practice by incorporating very fine particles in a flirty uniform distribution into often oxidation- and corrosion- resistant metal matrices. e.g. superalloys. The present paper will give an overview about the mechanical alloying technique as a dry, high energy ball milling process for producing composite metal powders with a fine controlled microstructure. The common way is milling of a mixture of metallic and nonmetallic powders (e.g. oxides. carbides, nitrides, borides) in a high energy ball mill. The heavy mechanical deformation during milling causes also fracture of the ceramic particles to be distributed homogeneously by further milling. The mechanisms of the process are described. To obtain a homogeneous distribution of nano-sized dispersoids in a more ductile matrix (e.g. aluminium-or copper based alloys) a reaction milling is suitable. Dispersoid can be formed in a solid state reaction by introducing materials that react with the matrix either during milling or during a subsequent heat treatment. The pre-conditions for obtaining high quality materials, which require a homogeneous distribution of small dis-persoids, are: milling behaviour of the ductile phase (Al, Cu) will be improved by the additives (e.g. graphite), homogeneous introduction of the additives into the granules is possible and the additive reacts with the matrix or an alloying element to form hard particles that are inert with respect to the matrix also at elevated temperatures. The mechanism of the in-situ formation of dispersoids is described using copper-based alloys as an example. A comparison between the in-situ formation of dispersoids (TiC) in the copper matrix and the milling of Cu-TiC mixtures is given with respect to the microstructure and properties, obtained.

자동차 전장부품을 위한 Sn-0.5Cu-(X)Al(Si) 중온 솔더의 접합특성 연구 (A study of joint properties of Sn-Cu-(X)Al(Si) middle-temperature solder for automotive electronics modules)

  • Joint properties of electric control unit (ECU) module using Sn-Cu-(X)Al(Si) lead-free solder alloy were investigated for automotive electronics module. In this study, Sn-0.5Cu-0.01Al(Si) and Sn-0.5Cu-0.03Al(Si) (wt.%) lead-free alloys were fabricated as bar type by doped various weight percentages (0.01 and 0.03 wt.%) of Al(Si) alloy to Sn-0.5Cu. After fabrications of lead-free alloys, the ball-type solder alloys with a diameter of 450 um were made by rolling and punching. The melting temperatures of 0.01Al(Si) and 0.03Al(Si) were 230.2 and $230.8^{\circ}C$, respectively. To evaluation of properties of solder joint, test printed circuit board (PCB) finished with organic solderability perseveration (OSP) on Cu pad. The ball-type solders were attached to test PCB with flux and reflowed for formation of solder joint. The maximum temperature of reflow was $260^{\circ}C$ for 50s above melting temperature. And then, we measured spreadability and shear strength of two Al(Si) solder materials compared to Sn-0.7Cu solder material used in industry. And also, microstructures in solder and intermetallic compounds (IMCs) were observed. Moreover, thickness and grain size of $Cu_6Sn_5$ IMC were measured and then compared with Sn-0.7Cu. With increasing the amounts of Al(Si), the $Cu_6Sn_5$ thickness was decreased. These results show the addition of Al(Si) could suppress IMC growth and improve the reliability of solder joint.

치과용 지르코니아 코어 가공후의 잔여물을 활용하여 주입성형법으로 제조한 소결체의 특성 (The Properties of Sintered Body by Using the Slip Casting Process with Remained Dental Zirconia Block after Machining)

  • Purpose: All ceramic crown, made from zirconia instead of metal for core material, is recognized the best esthetical prosthesis. Recently, high-priced zirconia blocks and expensive CAD/CAM machines come into use for making zirconia core. In this study, slip casting process is adapted to evaluate the possibility of the recycling the remained parts of zirconia block after machining. Methods: Remained zirconia blocks were reduced to powders with zirconia mortar, and screened with 180 mesh sieve. Passed powders were ball milled under various conditions to obtain the optimum zirconia slip for casting. Solid casting method was used for casting the specimens with plaster mold. Formed specimens were dried and biscuit fired at $1,000^{\circ}C$ for 1 hour. Biscuit fired specimens were finished with exact shape of square pillar. Finished specimens were fired from $1,200^{\circ}C$ to $1,550^{\circ}C$ at $50^{\circ}C$ intervals for 1 hour. Linear shrinkage, apparent porosity, water absorption, bulk density, and flexural strength were tested. Microstructures were observed by SEM. Results: Above examinations indicated that the optimum firing temperture was $1,500^{\circ}C$, and when fired at this temperature for 1 hour, apparent porosity was 0% and flexural strength was 680MPa. SEM photomicrographs showed uniform 200~300nm grain size, which is equal with microcture of sintered commercial zirconia block. when compare 24% linear shrinkage of cast specimen with 20% linear shrinkage of CAD/CAM machined block, it was estimated that the size controlling of cast core was not so difficult. Conclusion: According to the all of this experimental results, the cast zirconia core produced from the remained parts of zirconia block was possible to use for all ceramic denture.

함침 오일 점도에 따른 나노동공 구조의 산화알루미늄 박막의 마찰 및 마멸 거동 (Tribological Influence of Kinematic Oil Viscosity Impregnated in Nanopores of Anodic Aluminum Oxide Film)

  • 본 연구는 직경 45 nm인 원통형 나노동공을 가진 산화알루미늄(AAO) 박막에 오일을 함침시켰을때 동점도가 마찰 마멸에 미치는 영향을 규명하고자 실시하였다. 양극산화법으로 제조한 AAO 박막을 직경 1 mm의 440C 스테인리스 강구를 상대재로 하여 왕복동 미끄럼 접촉시험을 실시하였다. 마찰면과 마멸입자는 주사전자현미경과 에닥스(Energy-dispersive X-ray)를 이용해 분석하였다. 높은 동점도 오일의 윤활효과가 저점도 오일에 비해 크게 향상되었다. 동점도가 낮은 경우엔 모든 하중조건에서 심한 마찰흔적과 함께 두꺼운 소성변형층이 넓게 형성되었으며 경계윤활막의 손상으로 접촉면에 물질전이와 화학적 반응 현상이 모두 발생하였다. 오일의 점도가 높은 경우 마찰면에 존재하는 경계윤활막이 파괴되지 않아 마찰흔적과 소성변형층의 형성이 매우 적었으며 물질전이와 화학적 반응이 방지되었다.
