It is well known that design matrix X for any factorial design can be represented by a product $X = TX_o$ where T is replication matrix and $X_o$ is the corresponding balanced design matrix. Since $X_o$ consists of regular arrangement of 0's and 1's, we can easily find the spectral decomposition of $X_o',X_o$. Also using this we propose an efficient algorithm for computing the orthogonal projection matrix for a balanced factorial design.

This paper is on weighted model reduction using structurally balanced truncation. For a given weighted(single or double-sided) transfer function, a state space realization with the linear fractional transformation form is obtained. Then we prove that two block diagonal LMI(linear matrix inequality) solutions always exist, and it is possible to get a reduced order model with guaranteed stability and a priori error bound. Finally, two examples are used to show the validity of proposed weighted reduction method, and the method is compared with other existing methods.

In the present paper, by generalizing the definition of the zero-difference balanced (ZDB) function to be the G-ZDB function, several classes of G-ZDB functions are constructed based on properties of cyclotomic numbers. Furthermore, some special constant composition codes are obtained directly from G-ZDB functions.

In this paper, single phase induction motor achieved improvement in efficiency by adapting the condition of Balanced operation and Quasi-balanced operation. Also, the process of efficiency improvement to find the optimum point of secondary resistance and running capacitor for working single phase induction motor is performed in order to attain the conclusion to put out the maximum efficiency at the rated operation point with meeting the starting torque.

The present paper investigates estimation of a scale parameter of a gamma distribution using a loss function that reflects both goodness of fit and precision of estimation. The Bayes and empirical Bayes estimators rotative to balanced loss functions (BLFs) are derived and optimality of some estimators are studied.

In this research, the performance of widely used Bayesian estimators such as Bayes estimator, empirical Bayes estimator, constrained Bayes estimator and constrained empirical Bayes estimator are compared by means of a measurement under balanced loss function for the typical normal-normal situation. The proposed measurement is a weighted sum of the precisions of first and second moments. As a result, one can gets the criterion according to the size of prior variance against the population variance.

An empirical Bayesian approach is discussed for estimation of characteristics from the two-way balanced rotation sampling design which includes U.S. Current Population Survey and Canadian Labor Force Survey as special cases. An empirical Bayesian estimator is derived for monthly effect under presence of two types of biases and correlations It is shown that the marginal distribution of observation provides more general correlation structure than that frequentist has assumed. Consistent estimators are derived for hyper-parameters in Normal priors.

In balanced design of experiment sample size is determined to detect a certain standardized size of effect with power 1-$\beta$ at the level of significance $\alpha$. Tables (Marvin, et al (1970) and Lorenzen and Anderson(1993) and charts (Odeh and Fox(1991)) are available to determine the sample size in balanced design of experiments. To simplify those tables and charts simple MATLAB program is used to find the minimal standardized detectable difference $\delta$ when $\alpha , \beta$ and sample size are given.

본 연구는 Usability의 투자 성과관리(ROI: Return On Investment)를 위한 균형성과지표(BSC: Balanced ScoreCard) 관점에서의 Framework 개발을 목표로 한다. 2000년 이후 Usability에 대한 투자 규모는 높은 증가세를 유지해 왔으나 대규모 투자가 진전되는 가운데 Usability투자의 수익성을 어떻게 확보하고, 그 효과(Effectiveness)는 어떻게 측정할 것인가 하는 문제는 상대적으로 관심을 끌지 못하고 있다. Usability 투자에 대한 시스템적 성과관리를 위해 개발된 Usability BSC Framework은 BSC의 4가지 관점에서 Usability 투자성과관리에 대한 변형된 관점의 모델을 제안한다.

We propose a new method for estimating the mean of a population which has a linear trend. The suggested estimator is based on the centered balanced systematic sampling method and the concept of interpolation and extrapolation. The efficiency of the proposed method is compared with that of existing methods.
