An Implementation of Integrated Interface System for the Digital Ship (디지털 선박의 통합 연동 시스템 구현)

  • Thus, all systems and sensors corresponding to navigation are integrated to an INS (Integrated Navigation System) or an IBS (Integrated Bridge System). Propulsion automation systems, propulsion systems, auxiliary systems, and power management systems are integrated to an ICMS (Integrated Control and Monitoring System), an IPMS (Integrated Platform Management System), and IMCS (Integrated Monitoring and Control System). This paper introduces the results of designing and implementing an Integrated Interface System which ties up diverse system interfaces via network and inversely converts network signals into a proper interface signal type connected to other systems.

  • Comer point is a very important information to a pattern recognition of image processing. And so, many researchers develope various detecting comer point algoritms. But, there are some problems to get comer points by 8 directional chain code when the degree of edge line is not integer multiplication of 45 degree. So, we propose a new algorithm which is combined with morphology and human visual conception for optimal comer points without the above defects. We get a good simulation result by this proposed algorithm Ana so, we think this algorithm is very useful to FA(factory automation} and ship's radar system to know some coastal area from its image.

  • Accurate block shape assessment is critical for ship manufacturing and a careful assessment of the shape of a fabricated block against the design shape is a core issue. However, in current fabrication practice, the shape of each block is evaluated manually using rigid body transformation. This manual evaluation process entirely depends on workers' experiences and knowledge and makes automation of block shape assessment difficult. In this paper we propose a computation method on the registration for shape assessment of a block during the fabrication process and for evaluation of its completion against the design shape. A conversion on matching method by adding DOF(degree of freedom) restriction is required to reach the goals. We test our method using a real block quality assessment data to demonstrate its applicability to real ship manufacturing process.

  • All current shipyards are using the customized CAD/CAM programs in order to improve the design quality and increase the design efficiency. Even though the data structures for ship design and construction are almost completed, the implementation related to the ship design processes are still in progress so that it has been the main causes of the bottleneck and delay during the middle of design process. In this study, we thought that the hole-plan system would be a good example which is remained to be improved. The people of outfitting division who don't have direct authority to edit the structural panels, should request the hull design division to install the holes for the outfitting equipment. For acceptance, they should calculate the hole position, determine the hole type, and find the intersected contour of panel. After consideration of the hull people, the requested holes are manually installed on the hull structure. As the above, many processes are needed such as communication and discussion between the divisions, drawings for hole-plan, and the consideration for the structural or production compatibility. However this iterative process takes a lot of working time and requires mental pressure to the related people and cross-division conflict. This paper will handle the hole-plan system in detail to automate the series of process and minimize the human efforts and time-consumption.

  • WIG crafts are a high speed vessel with features of dynamic supported craft. These crafts, which are predominantly of light weight and operate any substantially greater speeds than conventional craft such as bulk carrier, tanker, container ship, etc., could not be accommodated under traditional maritime safety instruments. It means that there is the need for risk and safety levels to be assessed on a holistic basis, recognizing that high levels of operator training, comprehensive and thoroughly implemented procedures, high levels of automation and sophisticated software can all make significant contributions to risk reduction. To response this requirement, the Interim Guideline for WIG craft(MSC/Circ.1054) were developed in the view of the configuration of WIG craft, which fall between the maritime and aviation regulatory regimes. This paper reviews a safety assessment process and methodology to be used in the design phase of a new ship. The process and methodology is based on the risk-based approach and is applied to safety assessment in concept development phase of small WIG craft in the 20-person class.

  • In this paper, we have developed the vacuum infusion automation system for the safety and quality advancement of the boat. It is necessary for the precise mixing rate of resinoid and curingagent to inject in an inner ship and deck at short time. We need for the optimal condition to a strengthen construction of boat. This one can solve the post deformability of the strengthen structure and can control the precise mixing rate of resinoid and curingagent to the resinoid fluidity and flowing rate per time. Under these condition, we can advance the an quality construction that based on the model and database information of the boat. Also, we can have an effective process management and retrench the production cost.

  • In this study, for integrated management and inter-exchange of operational data generated by ships and land-side information on safe and business, a vessel communication system with modular functions was designed that applied high efficiency compression, least-cost algorithms and Inmarsat FBB connection automation system. Performance test at the KTsat Kumsan satellite earth station; system was found to delivered an average transfer speed of 7 kB/S, which was significant improvement from the existing commercial product's average speed of 5 kB/S. It also delivered twice the efficiency of the existing product in terms of compression rate and transfer of the most widely used office files in maritime businesses.

  • Corrosion is never avoided in the use rf materials with various environments. The underwater hull is normally protected against rusting by several coatings of anti-corrosive paint. The purpose of ICCP(Impressed Current Cathodic Protection) system is to eliminate the rusting or corrosion, which occurs on metal immersed in seawater. This thesis is about the ICCP control and monitoring system, which brings protection against the corrosion of the ship's hull in the sea environments. The test system for ICCP is composed of a power supply, anode, reference electrode and controller. The test system is composed power supply, anode, ref electrode, shunt and etc. The protection current is sent to the protection area though anode. Reference electrode senses whether or not the detected potential is within a range of protection of test equipment and then it is automatically controlled to increase or decrease the amount of protective current to be sent to the anode by controller. The monitoring system with LabView is also detected in order to check the normal state of the system at operation period, because an operator does not always watch over this system and thus the system cannot operate well because rf his or her negligent management. This paper was studied the variation of potential and current density with environment factors, velocity and time, and the experimental results will be explained Also, It is suggested that this system can accommodate a ship's automation for SCMS(Ship Control and Management System) and will be very useful.
