  • Until now, neuropsychological tests can diagnose the brain dysfunction, however, cannot distinguish the objective data of experiment enough to distinguish the relationships between brain dysfunction and cerebropathia. In this paper, an automatic cognitive test equipment system with 6-axis motion sensors was proposed for the automation of neuropsychological tests. Fist-Edge-Palm(FEP) test and Go-no go test were used to evaluate motor programming of frontal lobe. The motion data from the specially designed motion glove are transmitted wirelessly to a computer to detect the gestures automatically. The healthy 20 and 11 persons are investigated for the FEP and Go-No go test, respectively. The recognition rates of gestures of FEP and Go-No go test are min. 91.38% and 89.09%. In conclusion, the automations of cognitive tests are successful to diagnose the brain diagnostics quantitatively.

  • AGV is very proper equipment for Port Automation. AGV must have Obstacle Detection System(ODS) for port automation. Obstacle Detection System must have some functions. It must be able to classify some specified object from background data. And it must be able to track classified objects. Finally, ODS must determine its next action for safe cruise whether it must do emergency stop or it must speed down or it must change its track. For these functions, ODS can have many different structures. In this paper, we will propose one structure among some possible ones. Our ODS has been being developed using proposed structure since last year. In this paper, we will introduce our system which is under construction.

  • Identifying the load and mutual inductance is essential for improving the power transfer capability and power transfer efficiency of Inductive Power Transfer (IPT) systems. In this paper, a steady-state load and mutual inductance identification method focusing on series-parallel compensated IPT systems is proposed. The identification model is established according to the steady-state characteristics of the system. Furthermore, two sets of identification results are obtained, and then they are analyzed in detail to eliminate the untrue one. In addition, the identification method can be achieved without extra circuits so that it does not increase the complexity of the system or the control difficulty. Finally, the feasibility of the proposed method has been verified by simulation and experimental results.

  • Computer Intergrated Manufacturing (CIM) is an emerging technology which aims at the total automation of a manufacturing system. Despite the extensive research on CIM in this decade, total automation seems to be far from reality for many reasons. In this study, the problems of implementing a CIM system are analyzed and a solution method is suggested. A set of software has been developed and tested for a workstation cotroller which controls closely integrated equipment in the low level of a flexible manufacturing system. The functions of the programs are communications between machines and computers and control of workstation scheduling. The software group is developed on IBM OS/2 operating system with 'c' language to enhance the portability. The usage of the software is presented to users through the Presentation Manager which is menu handler of OS/2 system. Although the software is developed for limited machine equipment, the scheme can be adopted to various machines due to the generality.

  • This paper describes the automation of an object generator and an image analyser in a knife scan OTF equipment to enhance the accuracy of OTF measurement. Pinholes and slits of various size in the object generator are used as an objects. A fishtail edge is mounted to the image analyzer and is translated to the direction of 45 degree angle with the horizontal to measure MTF simultaneously in the radial and tangential azimuths. The stepping motor control unit and software for the image analyzer are modified and the accuracy of this equipment is evaluated by measuring the OTF of SIRA group 50 mm standard lens.

  • This paper presents the core technology of Construction Business Process Automation to model and automate construction business processes. Business Process Reengineering (BPR) and Automation (BPA) have been recognized as one of the important aspects in construction business management. However, BPR requires a lot of efforts to identify, document, implement, execute, maintain, and keep track thousands of business processes to deliver a project. Moreover, existing BPA technologies used in existing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems do not lend themselves to effective scalability for construction business process management. Application of Workflow and Object Technologies would be quite effective in implementing a scalable enterprise application for construction community. This paper present the technologies and methodologies for automating construction business processes by addressing how: 1) Automated construction management tasks are developed as software components, 2) The process modeling is facilitated by dragging-and dropping task components in a network, 3) Raising business requests and instantiating corresponding process instances are delivered, and 4) Business process instances are executed by using workflow technology based on real-time simulation engine. This paper presents how the construction business process automation is achieved by using equipment reservation and cancellation processes simplified intentionally.

  • This paper concerns 3-D graphical modeling and simulation techniques for design and control of automated equipment for construction and facility maintenance. A case study on the use of 3-D graphics techniques for developing a power plant maintenance robot is presented. By simulating equipment operation within the 3-D geometry models of the work environment the environment design was improved. The 3-D graphical models of the equipment and the work environment were further utilized for the control of the robot from a remote distance. By presenting the real-time updated equipment configuration and the work environment to the operator, the graphical model-based equipment control system helped the operator overcome the problems associated with spatial perception. The collision between the robot and the plant structures was also avoided based the real-time analysis of the dynamically updated graphical models.

  • A large-scale construction project relies much on the efficiency of construction equipment. Therefore, efficient and accurate measurement on the productivity of construction equipment is one of important task in the construction industry. Based on the motivation, this paper proposes a 11-axis composite sensor for an automatic measurement of construction equipment. A 11-axis composite sensor is composed of a gyroscope, geomagnetic and accelerometer sensor for the purpose of real-time motion captures of construction equipment. It is expected that the proposed system can save considerable time, effort and cost of measuring a efficiency of construction equipment.
