A Study on the Protection Switching Mechanism for Distribution Automation System Ethernet Networks Service of Distribution Automation System (배전자동화시스템 통신서비스를 위한 이중화 통신망 보호절체 알고리즘 연구)

  • The protection switching technology is widely adopted in the fiber-optical transmission equipments based on TDM(Time Division Multiplexing), such as PDH, SDH/SONET. A variety of protection switching algorithms for Ethernet networks and the progress of standardization are summarized in the document. There are several kinds of protection switching algorithms for Ethernet networks, such as STP, RSTP, MSTP and etc. However, since Ethernet signal move through detour route, it causes much time to recover. Accordingly, it is difficult to secure a usability of Ethernet networks and QOS(Quality of Service). Also, if the protection switching protocol standardized by IEEE and ITU-T is used, it remains a inherent network switching time for protection. Therefore, a specific protection switching algorithm for Ethernet are needed for seamless and stable operation of Ethernet networks service for Distribution Automation System(DAS). A reliable protection algorithm with no switching delay time is very important to implement Self-healing service for DAS. This study of FPGA based protection switching algorithm for Ethernet networks shows that in case of faults occurrence on distribution power network, immediate fault isolation and restoration are conducted through interaction with distribution equipments using P2P(Peer to Peer) communication for protection coordination. It is concluded that FPGA based protection switching algorithm for Ethernet networks available 0ms switching time is crucial technology to secure reliability of DAS.

Motion Sensing Algorithm for SAR Image Using Pre-Parametric Error Modeling (매개변수 사전 오차 모델링 기법을 이용한 SAR 요동측정 알고리즘)

  • In order to obtain high-quality images by motion compensation in the airborne synthetic aperture radar (SAR), accurate motion sensing in image acquisition section is necessary. Especially, reducing relative position error and discontinuity in motion sensing is important. To overcome the problem, we propose a pre-parametric error modeling (P-PEM) algorithm which is a real-time motion sensing algorithm for the airborne SAR in this paper. P-PEM is an extended version of parametric error modeling (PEM) method which is a motion sensing algorithm to mitigate the errors in the previous work. PEM estimates polynomial coefficients of INS error which can be assumed as a polynomial in the short term. Otherwise, P-PEM estimates polynomial coefficients in advance and uses at image acquisition section. Simulation results show that the P-PEM reduces relative position error and discontinuity effectively in real-time.

A Study on Stowage Automation Algorithm for Cargo Stowage Optimization of Vehicle Carriers (차량 운반선의 화물 적재 최적화를 위한 적재 자동화 알고리즘 연구)

  • With the development of the 4th industry, the logistics industry is evolving into a smart logistics system. However, ship work that transports vehicles is progressing slowly due to various problems. In this paper, we propose an stowage automation algorithm that can be used for cargo loading of vehicle carriers that shortens loading and unloading work time. The stowage automation algorithm returns the shortest distance by searching for a loading space and a movable path in the ship in consideration of the structure of the ship. The algorithm identifies walls, ramps and vehicles that have already been shipped, and can work even with randomly placed. In particular, it is expected to contribute to developing a smart logistics system for vehicle carriers by referring to the ship's master plan to search for vehicle loading and unloading space in each port and predict the shortest movable path.

  • As factory automation is required, using the vision system is also essential. Especially, the pateh planning of parts with J-lead on PCB plays a import role of whole automation. Path planning is required because J-lead is scatteed compaed to L-lead on PCB. Therefore, in this paper, we propose path planning of part inspection with J-lead to use Hopfield Model(TSP : Traveling Salesman Problem). Then optical system suited to J-lead inspection is designed and the algorithm of J-lead solder joint and part inspection is proposed.

  • This paper studies the problem of fault estimation using adaptive fault diagnosis observer. A fast adaptive fault estimation (FAFE) approximator is proposed to improve the rapidity of fault estimation. Then based on linear matrix inequality (LMI) technique, a feasible algorithm is explored to solve the designed parameters. Furthermore, an extension to sensor fault case is investigated. Finally, simulation results are presented to illustrate the efficiency of the proposed FAFE methodology.

  • Crane operation is manually accomplished by skilled operators. Recently, the concept of automation is widely introduced in shipping and unloading operation using the overhead crane for the enhanced productivity. In this regards, we designed an angle detector and 3D position detectro which are key evices for this operation. As well as an intellignet control algorithm is developed for the implementation of swing free crane. The performance of the presented algorithm is tested for the swing angle and the position of the overheas crand. The control scheme adopts a feedback control of an angular velocity of swing in initial phase and then the fuzzy controller whose rule base is optimized by a genetic algorithm.

  • This paper proposes an improved fault indication algorithm in a distribution automation system. A conventional fault indication method, so called YES-NO algorithm, could generate wrong informations under certain conditions such as line to ground fault, large motor double circuit line. In order to prevent mal-operation of fault indicator, direction of fault current are used as well as magnitude. The feasibility of the proposed algorithm has been testified by computer simulation using Matlab power system toolbox.

  • At present, KS-1000 which is one of a commercial measurement instrument for motor fault diagnosis has been used in industrial field. The measurement system of KS-1000 is composed of three part : harmonic acquisition, signal processing by KS-1000 algorithm, diagnosis for motor fault. First of all, voltage signal taken from harmonic sensor is analysed for frequency by KS-1000 algorithm. Then, based on the result values of analysis skilled expert makes a judgment about whether motor system is the abnormality or degradation state. But the expert system such a motor fault diagnosis is very difficult to bring the expectable results by mathematical modeling due to the complexity of judgment process. In this reason, we propose an automation system using fuzzy model based on genetic algorithm(GA) that builded a qualitative model of a system without priori knowledge about a system provided numerical input output data.

  • This paper proposes a new heuristic algorithm of a low power hardware allocation for Design Automation. The proposed algorithm works on scheduled input graph and allocates functional units, interconnections and registers by considering interdependency between operations and storage elements in each control step, in order to share registers and interconnections connected to functional units, as much as possible. The low power factor of the capacitance is reduced during the allocation. As the resource number reduce maximal . This paper shows the effectiveness of the algorithm by comparing experiments of existing system of the non low power.
