  • A position control algorithm for a flexible manipulato is stuudied. The proposed algorithm is based on a fuzzy theroy with a Steady State Genetic Algorithm(SSGA). The conventional fuzzy methods need expert's knowledges or human experiences. The SSGA, which is one of the optimization algorithms, tunes automatically the input-output membership parameters and fuzzy rules. The computer simulation is presented ot illustrate the approaches. Finally we applied a fuzzy theory with a SSGA to aposition control of a flexible manipulator.

  • Traditionally, classification of remote sensed image data is one of the important works for image data analysis procedure. So, many researchers have been devoted their endeavor to increasing accuracy of analysis, also, many classification algorithms have been proposed. In this paper, we propose new bands selection method for multispectral bands of remote sensed image data that use rough set theory. Using indiscernibility relations in rough sets, we show that can select the efficient bands of multispectral image data, automatically.

  • Fuzzy controllers also show good performance In case of the systems being nonlinear and difficult to solve. But these fuzzy controllers have problems which have to decide suitable rules and membership functions. In general we decide those using the heuristic methods or the experience of experts. Therefore, many researchers have applied genetic algorithms to make fuzzy rule automatically. In this paper, we suggest a new coding method and a new crossover method to maintain the good fuzzy rule base and the shape of membership

  • Real-time traffic detection scheme based on Computer Vision is capable of efficient traffic control using automatically computed traffic information and obstacle detection in moving automobiles. Traffic information is extracted by segmenting vehicle region from road images, in traffic detection system. In this paper, we propose the advanced segmentation of vehicle from road images using multiple local region information. Because multiple local region overlapped in the same lane is processed sequentially from small, the traffic detection error can be corrected.

  • In this paper, a digital oscilloscope is implemented using a C54x DSK with PC. This digital oscilloscope has some basic measurement functions with a capability to change Volt/Div and Time/Div as well as to set appropriate trigger level automatically. Also several stored waveforms and current input waveform can be displayed simultaneously. Experimetal results show that our approaches are versatile and cost-effective particularly in educational installment.

  • In this article, we present a method to measure precisely the performances of direct-lit CCFL backlights using a luminance meter and dedicated image analysis software. The array of CCFL tubes alone can be measured directly and the luminance of each tube can be extracted along its main dimension. So, comparison of the different tubes on the same backlight can be made easily and the performances in terms of backlight uniformity improved. The influence of the diffuser sheet can be probed in the same way and the homogeneity of the entire surface of the backlight can be automatically extracted and quantified.

  • Some structural problems and temperature difference of the pyrolysis equipment were improved by using the structure analysis and the optimal design of torch. The pyrolysis equipment developed in this study is expected to the excellent pyrolysis effect. To modify user-friendly the dimension of a part, we developed the feature modeling system that all of the related parts automatically change applying to the three-dimensional modeling method.

  • A Reversed Field Pinch(RFP) Plasma automatically forms the reversed field configuration in a stable state by the self-reversal phenomenon. But this process of formation of the reversed field configuration has a problem that instabilities occur. In order to form a RFP configuration in a stable state by removing instabilities, this experimental study attempts to restrain Toroidal magnetic fields and supplement Toroidal flux by employing high frequency rotating fields. As a result, the reversed magnetic field configuration is stably formed in a short period because high frequency rotating fields can deflect poloidal currents and produce magnetic fields in the Toroidal direction.

  • In this paper, we describe a method for two-way communication service for smart phone integrated with pager which receive various kinds of Internet service information and pushes this information into smart phone to make it available for Internet assess. In this method, the server can push the status data of message boxes into the smart phone and it makes connection to the server automatically. The proposed method will make it possible to manage and excange the information and resources in an efficient manner during idle time, and will provide the potential capabilities of developing a variety of new Internet services for the system.
