  • A software tool implementing cascaded SCF (Switched Capacitor Filter) is developed. A comprehensive procedure is described for the design of cascaded SCF, and some design considerations are discussed. In program several user-selectable filter approximation techniques, and two optimising methods which reduce the total capacitance are included. Analysis of the partial positive feedback and the effect of clock frequency to total capacitance are presented in detail. Two pratical examples are given to prove its validity in reducing the total capacitance. Developed tool can be used for general SCF generator.

  • In this work, an automatic software verification method for Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) protection system is developed. This method utilizes Colored Petri net (CPN) for modeling and Prototype Verification system (PVS) for mathematical verification. In order to help flow-through from modeling by CPN to mathematical proof by PVS, a translator has been developed in this work. The combined method has been applied to a protection system function of Wolsong NPP SDS2(Steam Generator Low Level Trip)and found to be promising for further research and applications.

  • In this paper a new test generation method for Domino CMOS logic circuits is proposed. Because the stuck-at type fault is not adequate for Domino CMOS circuits the stuck-open fault, stuck-on fault and bridging fault are considered as fault models. It is shown that the test generation problem of Domino CMOS circuits results in functional block test generation problem. Test set is generated by using the logic minimizer which is a part of logic design system. An algorithm for reduction of test set is described. The proposed test method can be easily applied to various figures of circuits and make it easy to construct automatic test generator in design system. The proposed algorithms are programed and their efficiency is confirmed by examples.

  • In general, analog tester or strip chart recorder have been used to measure the corrosion potential of structures such as gas pipelines, oil pipelines, hot water pipelines, power cables etc. Recently, automatic digital data logger substitutes for these manual equipment because using these manual equipments are tedious and time consuming. However, digital data logger also has a shortcoming, that is, short measuring time because of the short lifetime of batteries. Therefore, we developed a long lifetime and low power loss battery taking advantage of galvanic series. In this paper, the results of development for power generator using two metals and DC/DC converter in order to obtain enough voltage for the operation of digital data logger. DC/DC converter operates with 0.5[V]. Its output voltage is 3.5[V] and output current is from 60[mAh] to 1,200[mAh].

  • In this study, a design process for reinforced concrete structures using the nonlinear FEM analysis is developed. Instead of using the nonlinear analysis to evaluate the required performance after design process, the nonlinear analysis is applied before designing the reinforcement arrangement inside the RC structures. An automatic reinforcement generator for computer aided reinforcement agreement is developed for this purpose. Based on a nonlinear FEM program for analyzing the reinforced concrete structure, a smart fictitious material model of steel, is proposed which can self-adjust the reinforcement to the required amount at the cracking location according to the load increment. Using this tool, the reinforcement ratio required at design load level can be decided automatically. In this paper, an example of RC beam with opening is used to verify the proposed process. Finally, a trial design process for a real size underground RC LNG tank is introduced.

  • In this paper, we developed placement algorithm for drafting logic schmeatics. The algorithm of this system is to base placement on signal flow as opposed to connectivity. The key idea of this algorithm is that by dividing the schematic into simpler acyclic, uni-directional graphs, called tree. Then the components of tree and their interconnections have the characteristics that they can be laid out symmetrically without any crossovers. The interconnectivity between the trees are analyzed and a placement scheme is determined for them. Also, the trees are expended into their respective components. This algorithm is divided into four main phases: Initiate, Divide, Merge, Placement.

  • Studied was impact assessment of sea dike construction in Saemankeum. To represent complexity of the geometry and topography of the region a flexible finite grid system are adopted. Combined fine and coarse meshes based on automatic mesh generator were applied in pre-processing. A nonlinear periodic finite element model. TEANL, was implied in this analysis, which gave good results compared to the observed data. It was predicted that the front region of dike connecting Shinsi-Karyeok-Daehang-Pyunsan will behave as a closed rectangular bay with wide width, which may affect significantly to the circulation and dispersion mechanism in the region.

  • It is easily can be expected that Korea cannot be free under the regulation, because Korea is one of the major $CO_2$ emitter in the world. Even though Korea currently doesn't have any obligation to mitigate the carbon emission, power industry needs to study the effect of that. this paper aims to analyze the change of economic loading order for generation dispatch by various carbon price, looking at each plant's or generator's variable generation cost per unit electricity(kWh) that consists of basic generation price calculated by automatic generation system planning model, WASP 4.0, and $CO_2$ price per unit electricity generation.

  • In recent large power plants, the excitation system has the static type, which is characterized by the fast response to increase the transient stability. The high capacity excitation systems developed in KEPRI is either a hot back-up, hybrid hot back-up (analog + digital) or triple modular redundant digital type, both well proven by actual tests and applied in commercial operation. The large excitation systems have been developed taking into consideration the parameters of large scale power plants, resulting in high costs and subsequently are supplied at higher prices. When used at small sized power plants, the cost impact is relatively high. As a countermeasure to such a situation, KEPRI has recently developed a reliable, miniature digital excitation system, which is one-board type, convenient and adequate for low-price, small-sized (0.5MW∼200MW) power plants.
