A Semantic-based Video Retrieval System Using the Automatic Indexing Agent (자동 인덱싱 에이전트를 이용한 의미기반 비디오 검색 시스템)

  • In order to process video data effectively, it is required that the content information of video data is loaded in database and semantic- based retrieval method can be available for various query of users. Currently existent contents-based video retrieval systems search by single method such as annotation-based or feature-based retrieval, and show low search efficiency and requires many efforts of system administrator or annotator form less perfect automatic processing. In this paper, we propose semantic-based video retrieval system which support semantic retrieval of various users by feature-based retrieval and annotation-based retrieval of massive video data. By user's fundamental query and selection of image for key frame that extracted from query, the automatic indexing agent gives the detail shape for annotation of extracted key frame. Also, key frame selected by user become query image and searches the most similar key frame through feature based retrieval method that propose. Therefore, we propose the system that can heighten retrieval efficiency of video data through semantic-based retrieval.

In this paper, we propose semantic-based video retrieval system for Environment Education Contents which support semantic retrieval of various users by feature-based retrieval and annotation-based retrieval of massive video data. By user's fundamental query and selection of image for key frame that extracted form query, the agent gives the detail shape for annotation of extracted key frame. Also, key frame selected by user become query image and searches the most similar key frame through feature based retrieval method that propose. From experiment, the designed and implemented system showed high precision ratio in performance assessment more than 90 percents.

  • Multi-valued decision making for transitional stochastic events was newly derived based on conditional probability of database. The two values (on-off) decision making method without transition had been proposed by one of the author in a previous work for a purpose of realizing human on-off decision making. The current method is an extension of the previous on-off decision making. By combining the conditional probability and the transitional probability, the closed form of the algorithm for the multi-valued transitional decision making was derived. The proposed multi-valued decision making was successfully applied to the determination of the five levels of the vigilance of a subject during the EEG recording; awake stage, drowsy stage and sleeping stages (stage 1, stage 2/3, REM (rapid eye movement)). The method for determining the vigilance level can be directly usable for the two purposes; selection of awake EEG segments for automatic EEG interpretation, and determination of sleep stages through sleep EEG. The proposed multi-valued decision making with a mathematical background of the probability can be applicable widely, in industries and in medical fields for purposes of the multi-valued decision making.

  • This paper proposes a DRMS(Distribution Remote Management System) which can enhance highly the economics of automatic metering system and the power quality supplied to the electric customer improving the efficiency of the meter reading, voltage management and load management work by realizing the remote meter reading, the remote voltage management and the remote load management based on the ADWHM(Advanced Digital Watt Hour Meter). The DRMS is designed so that the voltage management and load management work in remote site can be processed by collecting the voltage pattern and current pattern as well as watt hour data from all ADWHMs one time every month regularly or from special ADWHMS several time irregularly, A new on-line voltage and load management strategy based on the ADWHM is designed by analyzing the existing voltage management and load management process. Also, DRMS is designed so that watt-hour data, voltage pattern data, load pattern data and power factor data can be collected selectively according to the selection of user to assist effectively the methodology. Remote management program and database of the DRMS are implemented based on Visual C++, MFC and database library of MS. Also, DRMS is designed so as to communicate with the ADWHM using RS232C-TCP/IP converter and ADSL. The effectiveness of the remote metering function is proven by collecting and analyzing the data after ADWHMs installed in any site. The developed strategy and program also is verified through the simulation of voltage management and load management.

  • In order to construct the News Video Database System, cut detection technique is very important. In general, the color histogram, $\chi$2 histogram or Bin-to-Bin difference(B2B) techniques are mainly using for the scene partitioning. In this paper, we propose the efficient algorithm that is applied the weight in terms of NTSC standard to cut detection. This algorithm is able to reduce the time of acquiring and comparing histogram using by separate calculation of R, G, and B for the color histogram technique. And it also provide the efficient selection method fo threshold value by and use the news videos of KBS, MBC, SBS, CNN and NHK as experimental domains. By the result of experiment, we present the proposed algorithm is more efficient for cut detection than the previous methods, and that the basis for the automatic selection of threshold values.

In this paper, we propose a video retrieval system which support semantics retrieval of various users for massive video data by user's keywords and comparison area learning based on automatic agent. By user's fundamental query and selection of image for key frame that extracted from query, the agent gives the detail shape for annotation of extracted key frame. Also, key frame selected by user becomes a query image and searches the most similar key frame through color histogram comparison and comparison area learning method that proposed. From experiment, the designed and implemented system showed high precision ratio in performance assessment more than 93 percents.
