  • Being in Learning-accomplishing rate on mutual cooperation studies of small group by different class, we can find that the sujective class of high group is much more efficient than the compared class of high group and that the subjective class of low group is more efficient than the compared class of low group as times goes. Moreover, in analysis of all directions on mathematical attitude, high group appears to be a great efficient in all areas such as confidence, flexibility, reaction, value, etc. and low group seems to have a little effect, by comparing the subjective class with the compared class. A. The result of a scholastic ability test High group had a great effect in the result of the first (Number and an expression) and second(An equation of a figure) scholastic ability test. As the time of research goes, the difference of average between the subjective class and the compared class has increased. Low group had no effect in the result of the first (Number and an expression) and the second (An equation of figure) scholastic ability test. But the difference of average grade between the subjective class and the compared class proved to be some efficient as time goes. (the first test is 0.94 and the second test is 3.33)We can find that the result of the third test (An exponent and log function) turned out be efficient. B. The change of mathematical attitudeHigh group had a great effect in confidence(+1.21), fiexibility(+1.92), will(-0.06), curiosity(+2.64), reaction(+1.50), value(+1.44). Low group appeared to be a little efficient in comparison between the subjective class and compared class. the average of both the subjective class and the compared class in low group decreased if not the result of pre-test but in that of pose-test. Therefore, we can find that the difference between mathematics of maddle school and that of high school gets bigger in Low group.C. The result of a question examinationAfter this research, the reaction that It is helpful to studying accomplishm- ent is 33.7%, the reaction that It is not helpful is 14.7%. After all, this research appears to be a positive reaction. After this study, the change of studying will seems to be much more not in Low group but in High group.

  • A programming education has favorable influence on creative / logical thinking and problem solving ability of students. However, students typically have to spend too much effort in learning basic grammar and the usage model of programming languages, which negatively affect their eagerness in learning. In this respect, we proposed to apply the 'Scratch' using the Creative Problem Solving(CPS) Teaching Model; Scratch is an easy-to-learn and intuitive Educational Programming Language(EPL) that helps improving the problem solving ability of the class. Then we verified the effect of Scratch EPL through the design of both pretest and posttest for a subject group. In summary, the CPS based Scratch EPL was shown to significantly improve the problem solving ability and also help them develop favorable attitude in programming.

  • This study explored the factors that influence elementary school teachers' intention to use an artificial intelligence (AI) math learning system and analyzed the interactions and relationships among these factors. Based on the technology acceptance model, perceived usefulness for math learning, perceived ease of use of AI, and attitude toward using AI were analyzed as the main variables. Data collected from a survey of 215 elementary school teachers was used to analyze the relationships between the variables using structural equation modeling. The results of the study showed that perceived usefulness for math learning and perceived ease of use of AI significantly influenced teachers' positive attitudes toward AI math learning systems, and positive attitudes significantly influenced their intention to use AI. These results suggest that it is important to positively change teachers' perceptions of the effectiveness of using AI technology in mathematics instruction and their attitudes toward AI technology in order to effectively adopt and utilize AI-based mathematics education tools in the future.

  • In the school mathematics the concept of tangent is introduced in several steps in suitable contexts. Students are required to reflect and revise their concepts of tangent in order to apply the improved concept to wider range of contexts. In this paper we consider the tangent as the optimal linear approximation to a curve at a given point and make three discussions on pedagogical aspects of it. First, it provides a method of finding roots of real numbers which can be used as an application of tangent. This may help students improve their affective variables such as interest, attitude, motivation about the learning of tangent. Second, this concept reflects the modern point of view of tangent, the linear approximation of nonlinear problems. Third, it gives precise meaning of two tangent lines appearing two sides of a cusp point of a curve.

  • Mathematics curriculum according to 2009 Revised National Curriculum suggests that school mathematics must cultivate interest and curiosity about mathematics in addition to creative thinking ability of students, and ability and attitude of observing and analyzing many things happening around. Centroid of a triangle in 2007 Revised National Curriculum is defined as 'an intersection point of three median lines of a triangle' and it has been instructed focusing on proof study that uses characteristic of parallel lines and similarity of a triangle. This could not teach by focusing on the centroid itself and there is a problem of planting a miss concept to students. And therefore this writing suggests centroid must be taught according to its essence that centroid is 'a dot that forms equilibrium', and a justification method about this could be different.

  • It can be said that the teaching and learning of mathematical problem solving has been greatly influenced by G. Polya. His heuristics shows down the explicit process of mathematical problem solving in detail. In contrast, Polanyi highlights the implicit dimension of the process. Polanyi's theory can play complementary role with Polya's theory. This study outlined the epistemology of Polanyi and his theory of problem solving. Regarding the knowledge and knowing as a work of the whole mind, Polanyi emphasizes devotion and absorption to the problem at work together with the intelligence and feeling. And the role of teachers are essential in a sense that students can learn implicit knowledge from them. However, our high school students do not seem to take enough time and effort to the problem solving. Nor do they request school teachers' help. According to Polanyi, this attitude can cause a serious problem in teaching and learning of mathematical problem solving.

  • This study is to setup a mathematics PBL model that is right for elementary students. PBL models are developed and applied to actual courses and analyzed. So, a specific plan and practical understanding of PBL mathematics textbooks will be presented. But in order for this to happen, first the mathematics PBL model, that can realize 7th revised curriculum's goal, needs to setup and divided into knowledge, skill and attitude domains. Through this study, the general PBL model and the PBL model appropriate for elementary mathematics was amended and supplemented, this was then applied to courses and analyzed, and the below conclusions were realized. First, mathematical idealization stage is needed for mathematical PBL model. Since an elementary student is shortcoming in problem understanding and mathematical activity, a middle step that allows the student to understand the problem situation mathematizing and find a solution mathematically is desperately needed. Therefore, in this study, we named it the mathematical idealization stage and had it setup. Second, a mathematics information collection stage needs to be prepared for a successful PBL. Through this stage, the students will have an opportunity to gather the necessary information needed and restructure it to solve the problem. Third, the organization stage in mathematical PBL model needs to be strengthened. PBL is not just completed, through the best use of mathematics subject matter to solve the problem. Organization time is needed to allow the students to grow to a more deepened and advanced level. In conclusion, there is significance in providing a specific plan for mathematical PBL model, which can be seen through this study on applying and analyzing elementary mathematics and appropriate PBL models.
