  • This study aimed to measure the monetary and non-monetary effects on brand awareness at hypermarkets in Riyadh. The independent variable consists of three sub-variables: price reductions, free samples, and purchasing vouchers. The research population has all Saudi and non-Saudi buyers in Riyadh. The figures show that the population size reached 3.87 million in 2019. The proportional stratification sampling technique and the recommended sample size were 387 buyers. The five-point Likert scale with the fully structured questionnaire was used. The study concldes the effect of free samples on brand awareness while there was no effect of monetary instruments. The results show that the three sales promotion incentives (price reduction, free samples, and purchasing vouchers) moderately affected brand awareness and a key role in explaining consumer behavior, so the significant impact was proved. In summary, this study showed that price reductions have the power of creating the perception of buyers at hypermarkets in Riyadh. Non-cash instruments were more effective than cash instruments in enhancing brand awareness at the hypermarkets in the Saudi market. So, the price reductions and purchasing vouchers have less power in conducting communication-based awareness. Building awareness and improving brand image through free samples were most visible in communication strategy.

The following results were obtained through intraoral examination and questionnaire surveys done on one hundred and twenty two diabetic outpatients who visited endocrine department at Yeungnam University in Daegu and internal medicine department at Chungmu hospital in Cheonahn for 4 months from November, 2005 to February, 2006. DMF index according to the gender was significantly higher in females only in Filling index (p <0.05). Missing index increased as the age increased (p <0.001). Papillary bleeding index was significantly higher in females (p <0.05). Several indices which show oral status significantly higher as the duration of diabetes increased and as the blood sugar level before meal was higher (p <0.01, p <0.05). In a group that received oral hygiene education, several indices which show periodontal status were significantly lower than those in a group that didn't have it (p <0.001). According to the results, not only diabetic control but also general oral care should be included in self-management education for diabetic patients and this should be accomplished by appropriate oral health education program and staffs.

  • Apparel fairs are business platforms specializing in selling fashion products. As the largest apparel fair in the United States and with the highest number of animated buyers in the entire world, the Las Vegas Magic Show utilizes this distribution platform to the greatest extent by sustaining over 90,000 buyers annually. In accordance, the exhibiting companies also participate in commercial functions by striving to promote brand awareness to consumers as they carefully plan to increase actual sales and secure new customers. Domestically, numerous organizations such as the Trade Promotion Administration, the Korean Apparel Association, and KOTRA(Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency) present similar international apparel fairs to strongly encourage domestic companies to exhibit at international apparel fairs. However, many companies fail to succeed in achieving actual results, which frequently causes them to attend the shows for the short term only. This may occur due to the lack of research on apparel order-writing exhibitions by academia and proactive workers. This research study was based on the careful observation and analysis of the three most recent years of Magic exhibitor attendees' operations and changes to accomplish the final objective of presenting a basic guideline to attend an international apparel exhibition.

  • This study approaches the children's talent show performed at child care centers from the perspective of critical pedagogy in order to investigate its social, economic, and political context. Two child care centers where children's talent show are opened annually were selected as a sample. A qualitative study was conducted by collecting data from participant observation and interviews with the children, teacher, parents, and principles at the selected centers. The results of this study can be summarized as follows. The children's talent show played a role as a business tool for managing the child care center in terms of such functions as recruitment of new children and promotion of the institute, rather than simply being the result of demand from the children and parents. Consequently, the children and parents appear to be passive participants in the talent show by partially accepting the positive views thus generated without expressing disagreement with these views. This study suggest the need for a general debate regarding the planning and execution of events at child care centers.

The results of the survey are as follows: Health Promotion Behavior A closer look at high school teachers health promotion behavior shows that male teachers, compared with female teachers, more actively promote their health. However, female teachers are more aware of their personal hygiene and disease risks. Older teachers, rather than younger teachers, are more willing to promote their health through better eating habits and more frequent exercise. A comparison between married and single teachers revealed that married teachers promote their health through better eating habits, and single teachers receive less stress and are better at managing their stress. Teachers working in technical high schools are better at managing their stress and personal hygiene than academic high schools teachers. Teachers working after 8 o'clock show better health promotion behavior through proper eating habits, stress management, regular exercise, disease prevention: however, teachers working before 7:30 are poor at managing their stress. Teachers not teaching supplementary lessons and not supervising night self-study are better at managing their stress, exercise schedule, and disease prevention than teachers who are. Perceived Benefits, Perceived Barriers, and Health Promotion Behavior A Comparison between male and female teachers shows that female teachers firmly believe improved eating habits and regular exercises would greatly enhance their health. However, female teachers felt more discomfort in their working environment and in utilizing medical institutes. Teachers in the 20s and 40s perceived health benefits through regular lifestyle and exercise. Teachers with less experience feel more pressure from their work environment. Teachers below their 30s feel more dissatisfaction towards using medical facilities. Teachers working in Technical High Schools are more aware of promoting their health through regular health checkups, exercise, and lifestyle ; however, teachers from Academic High Schools feel more pressure from their work environment. Teachers not performing supplementary lessons and supervising night self-study sessions are more willing to go through regular health checkups than those performing them. Also, teachers with supplementary lessons and night self-study supervisions claimed lack of leisure time, pressure from work environment, and inconvenience in using medical facilities a deterrent to promoting their health behavior. The Relationship between Health Promotion Behavior, Perceived Benefits, and Perceived Barriers The correlation ratio between Health Promotion Behavior and Perceived Benefits shows a positive relationship. The results show that High School teachers believed regular health checkups are necessary in maintaining their health. This research shows that teachers consider the following factors important in the order shown ; regular lifestyle and exercise, prevention of geriatric diseases, improving ones eating habits. In short, teachers who are more aware of the importance of regular health checkups are also more aware of the importance of promoting their health. The correlation ratio between Health Promotion Behavior and Perceived Barriers shows negative relationship. High School Teachers believe that lack of leisure activity, pressure from work environment, familys financial burden, fear of diseases, inconvenience in using medical facilities are a deterrent in promoting their health behavior. In other words, teachers with less leisure time and negative pressures from their work environment were less active in promoting their health behavior. This study shows that High School teachers will be able to promote their health behavior by maintaining regular health checkups, lifestyle, exercise, and preventing geriatric diseases. However, teachers believed that insufficient leisure time and negative pressure from their work environment acted as a deterrent to maintaining their health behavior. Most High School teachers believe they are at present healthy, and they were actively engaged in Preventative Health Promotion. • Departments of family medicine at some general hospitals find it difficult to hold regular conferences because they have a small number of faculty members. The recent technological development of videoconferencing has made it possible for these small departments to regularly participate in the conferences held by departments with a larger number of faculty members. The objective of this study was to show the level of satisfaction with and acceptance of our videoconferencing system. One presenting site and four receiving sites participated in the videoconferences, which were held every Monday for three weeks. There were no significant differences in the levels of satisfaction with the videoconferences between faculty at the presenting site and faculty at the receiving sites. In contrast, residents at the receiving sites rated most items related to satisfaction with the videoconferences lower than residents at the presenting site. There were no changes between the pre-test and post-test scores of residents both at the presenting site and at the receiving sites. Despite its limitations, the advantages of joint-videoconferencing among several departments of family medicine were comfort level, time-saving, increasing the number of participants, promoting discussion, and provoking thought.
