  • This is a double Composite Waterproofing Method of Mastic Asphalt Film ad Sheet(MAS) on concrete structure and its working method. MAS is characterized as having excellent strength and adhesion to concrete. To make a good waterproofing system, it is needed the information on the performance tests. The designer should choose a material that can be applied in almost all conditions. During their service life, Underground spaces have been keeping to dry enough for habitable or utilitarian used. This method is of use for waterproofness in various spaces.

  • 본 연구에서는 아스팔트 매스틱 도막방수재를 구성하는 원료의 종류 및 함량을 조정하여 누유발생 특성을 분석함으로써 원료와 누유발생 간 특정 상관관계를 정량적으로 파악하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위해 아스팔트 매스틱 도막방수재의 유·무기계 체질안료인 CA(탄산칼슘)와 ASE(침강방지제) 두 개 원료를 선정하였으며, 입도 및 함량을 변수로 설정하여 배합을 통해 샘플시료를 조성하고 샘플시료별 점도 및 누유안정성(20℃, 40℃) 평가를 진행하였다. 평가결과, 누유안정성 및 점도는 CA 평균입도에 반비례하며, ASE 함량에 비례하는 상관관계가 성립하는 것을 정량적으로 증명하였다. 본 연구결과는 향후 아스팔트 매스틱 도막 방수재의 누유 개선을 위한 배합 연구 시 기초 배합설계의 핵심적인 근거자료로서 활용이 가능할 것으로 판단된다.

  • In this study, to confirm the performance of gel type urethane (hereinafter referred to as urethane gel) developed for the purpose of securing waterproof stability after application by increasing compatibility with asphalt mastic film material, general urethane coating material and adhesion. As a result, gel type urethane showed "all right" in fatigue resistance test.

베이지안 기법을 활용한 공용성 모델개발 연구 (Pavement Performance Model Development Using Bayesian Algorithm)

  • PURPOSES : The objective of this paper is to develop a pavement performance model based on the Bayesian algorithm, and compare the measured and predicted performance data. METHODS : In this paper, several pavement types such as SMA (stone mastic asphalt), PSMA (polymer-modified stone mastic asphalt), PMA (polymer-modified asphalt), SBS (styrene-butadiene-styrene) modified asphalt, and DGA (dense-graded asphalt) are modeled in terms of the performance evaluation of pavement structures, using the Bayesian algorithm. RESULTS : From case studies related to the performance model development, the statistical parameters of the mean value and standard deviation can be obtained through the Bayesian algorithm, using the initial performance data of two different pavement cases. Furthermore, an accurate performance model can be developed, based on the comparison between the measured and predicted performance data. CONCLUSIONS : Based on the results of the case studies, it is concluded that the determined coefficients of the nonlinear performance models can be used to accurately predict the long-term performance behaviors of DGA and modified asphalt concrete pavements. In addition, the developed models were evaluated through comparison studies between the initial measurement and prediction data, as well as between the final measurement and prediction data. In the model development, the initial measured data were used.

콘크리트 구조물에 사용되는 개량아스팔트 시트와 아스팔트 매스틱을 복합화한 방수공법의 누유현상 원인 분석 (Analysis on the Causes of the Oil Leakage Phenomenon for Complex Waterproofing Methods of Asphalt Mastic and Modified Asphalt Sheet)

  • 본 연구에서는 누유 현상에 대한 원인 파악을 위하여 실제 현장에서 누유된 시료를 채취하여 육안 관찰을 실시한 결과, 표면 상태의 변화를 근거로 누유 현상 원인이 "구성 성분간 분리"로 판단하고, 이에 대한 검증을 실시하였다. 검증을 위하여 현장에서 많이 사용되고 있는 아스팔트 매스틱 도막재 3개 제품을 수직 실린더에 채워 $50{\pm}5^{\circ}C$의 챔버 속에 정치시킨 후, 1일부터 28일간 매일 실린더의 상부, 하부 재료를 대상으로 Filler 함량차를 측정하여, 변화율을 비교 분석하였다. 평가 결과, 정치 시일이 경과할수록 아스팔트 매스틱의 Filler 성분이 침강되는 분리현상을 확인할 수 있었으며, 정치 후 28일에는 상부와 하부 시료의 Filler 함량이 최대 23.8% 이상 차이가 나는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 상기 결과를 근거로 아스팔트 매스틱의 누유 발생 메커니즘에 대한 가설 수립 후 누유발생 전 과정에 대한 예측 모델을 제시하였다.

공시체 구속 상태에서 정하중 시험에 의한 SMA 혼합물의 소성변형 저항성평가 가능성 (Feasibility of Estimating Rut Resistance of SMA Mixture by Static Loading Test Using Confined Specimen)

  • It is well-known fact that the stone-mastic asphalt (SMA) mixture has shown superior rut resistance, compared with the dense-graded asphalt (DGA) mixture in highway pavements. However, the SMA is measured to be inferior to DGA mixes when tested by well-known high-temperature test methods, such as the wheel tracking (WT), asphalt pavement analyzer, the Marshall Stability and Kim Test. Therefore, this study examined the reasons why it was measured to be inferior, and devised a potential procedure by which the superiority of SMA could be measured at $60^{\circ}C$. The strength against deformation ($S_D$), which was known to show very high correlation with WT results for DGA mixes, was measured by the Kim Test on the specimen confined in the compacted mold. In standard Kim Test, which used the specimen without confinement, the DGA was measured to show higher $S_D$ than the SMA. But by confining specimen, it was found that the $S_D$ of SMA was measured to be higher than that of DGA. Therefore, the confined static test protocol devised in this study was found to be feasible for evaluating rut resistance of SMA mix.

  • In this research, eight waterproofing membranes were selected from commercial market and the tensile adhesive characteristics of the waterproofing system (WPS) on concrete bridge deck were investigated in view of various factor in asphalt pavement. Tensile adhesive strength (TAS) test of different asphalt pavement types showed that TAS of WPS under SMA (Stone Mastic Asphalt) pavement was greater than that under dense asphalt pavement. Tensile adhesive strength (TAS) of sheet membranes was improved as the compaction temperature of asphalt concrete increase, but TAS of liquid membranes were not. TAS of sheet membranes after wheel tracking test were in the order of the sites under wheel path (UWP), before wheel tracking (BWT) and nearby wheel path (NWP), Since TAS of the same WPS of UWP was higher than TAS of BWT, wheel loading had function of pressing WPS resulting in higher adhesive strength, But liquid membranes were variable on types, The feature of detached interface after T AS test showed that sheet types were all detached in between deck concrete and WPS, and liquid types were detached in between asphalt pavement and WPS,

일반국도 현장조사 모니터링을 통한 장수명 아스팔트 덧씌우기 포장의 공용성 분석 (Performance Evaluation of Long-Life Asphalt Concrete Overlays Based on Field Survey Monitoring in National Highways)

  • PURPOSES : Performance evaluation of four types of asphalt concrete overlays for deteriorated national highways. METHODS : Pavement distress surveys for crack rate and rut depth have been conducted annually using an automated pavement survey vehicle since 2007. Linear and non-linear performance prediction models of the asphalt concrete overlays were developed for 43 sections. The service life of the asphalt overlays was defined as the number of years after which a crack rate of 30% or rut depth of 15mm is observed. RESULTS : The service life of the asphalt overlays was estimated as 17.4 years on an average. In 90.7% of the sections, the service life of the overlays was 15 years or more which is 1.5 times the life of conventional asphalt concrete overlays used in national highways. The performance of the overlays was dependent on the type of asphalt mixture, traffic volume levels, and environmental conditions. CONCLUSIONS : The usage of stone mastic asphalt (SMA) and polymer-modified asphalt (PMA) for the overlays provided good resistance to cracking and rutting development. It is recommended that appropriate asphalt concrete overlays must be applied depending on the type of existing pavement distress.
