Artistic Capability Analysis and Its Implications of 'Dalmun', a Top Star Entertainer of the Chosun Dynasty (조선의 톱스타 엔터테이너 '달문(達文)'의 예술적 역량 분석과 그 함의)

  • Dalmun was a top star entertainer who enjoyed the greatest popularity in the Chosun Dynasty in the 18th century by performing dance, singing and telling jokes. This study focuses on the fact that there has been no precedent research of actor studies or artist management perspective because he has been discussed only in the fields of literature and history. Therefore, we selected "Dalmunga" written by Hong Shinyu and "Gwangmunjajeon" created by Park Jiwon, which contained the richest expressions of his art world in the old relevant literature, and then analyzed his artistic capabilities using the content analysis method that combine frequency analysis(FA) and semantic analysis(SA) by applying the Actor Evaluation Model developed in 2015. As a result of FA, Dalmun's artistic competence factors (64%) were far more emphasized than artistic achievement factors (36%). It was considered that the atmosphere of Chosun society was reflected under the influence of Confucianism, which emphasized the fostering personality and virtue. According to the SA, a positive view (53.1%) dominated a negative perspective (24.5%) for each of his artistic capability factors. It shows that in contrast to Dalmun's destitute lower-class artist status, his self-abolition and transcendental life have become an inspiration to others. In conclusion, artistic devotion, perfect artistry, good humanity and spirit, commendable words and demeanors that cause'good influence' derived from Dalmun's unique competence are regarded as a key element of self-management, especially for popular artists suffering from recent misbehavior and deviant issues.

Assessing the Demand for Hanbok Education and Public Support Using the Characteristics of Hanbok Brand Entrepreneurs and Workers (한복브랜드 창업가 및 종사자 특성에 따른 한복 교육, 공공지원 수요 연구)

  • The growth of the fashionable hanbok market has led to a significant increase in the number of entrepreneurs or prospective entrepreneurs with small hanbok businesses. To develop the hanbok industry, the public sector is developing and providing education and support programs to enhance the competencies of individual hanbok brand entrepreneurs. This study conducted a survey of 213 subjects such as business operators, workers, and prospective workers in the changing hanbok industry. This study investigated their hanbok education experiences as well as future demands for education and public support programs. To explore differences based on individual characteristics, this study measured such characteristics using entrepreneurial orientation as well as the artistic and entrepreneurial competencies important in running a hanbok brand and analyzed the relationship demand for education and public support. Hanbok brand worker characteristics were classified into four groups based on individual characteristics: "traditionalist," "entrepreneur," "opportunist," and "businessman." Differences existed in terms of detailed education experience and demand as well as demand for public support, depending on the group. The results of this study contribute to development of hanbok curriculums that consider individual characteristics, the effective incubation of new and prospective hanbok brand entrepreneurs, as well as the research on founding small-scale fashion businesses.

A Meta-Analysis on Effects of Singing Activities for Children (유아대상 동요활동의 효과에 대한 메타분석)

  • This study covers an investigation using meta-analysis of the factors related to the effects of singing activities for children, focusing on the dissertations conducted for master and doctor degrees and the studies published in academic journals over the past 16 years. Ameta-regression analysis was conducted to examine the changes of the factors in each published year. The analysis results were as follows: Both the entire effect size and the groups of singing activity related factors were revealed to have significant effect sizes. While the group of social factors and the group of cultural & artistic factors showed large effect sizes, the group of psychological & emotional factors appeared to have an intermediate effect size. The sub-factors of the group of social factors were shown to have significantly larger effect sizes than the others, except for the factor of capability of recognizing others. Among the sub-factors, naturally friendly behavior showed relatively larger effect size than the others. In the sub-factors of the group of psychological & emotional factors, self-expression capability and self-control capability showed large effect sizes and stress suppression and emotional intelligence showed intermediate effect sizes. Among the sub-factors of the group of cultural & artistic factors, except for creative capability which showed an intermediate effect size, all of the sub-factors showed large effect sizes. According to the results of the analysis of the trend of the effect size changes in each published year, the trends of the entire effect size and the effect size of each factor, such as the groups of social factors, psychological & emotional factors and cultural & artistic factors, showed that the activity effects increase as the publication year comes closer to the most recent year.

  • The aim of this study is to contribute to the idea of creative design by presenting nail art designs in which neo pop art converges with nail art techniques. For this purpose, this study analysed the artistic worlds of Jean Michel Basquiat and Takashi Murakami as representative artists of neo pop art and used examples of their art as motivation based on Internet data and relevant books. Also this study analysed the concept and expressive techniques used in nail art, and for the nail art techniques of: hand painting, see-through, etching, nail patches, 3D, and airbrushing in order to create six nail art designs using artistic works by three artists as motivation. Based on this, this study presented creative and unique nail designs with artistic works by neo pop artists as motivation. It is hoped that this study will contribute to further use of characteristic and diverse nail designs and is helpful in promoting the capability of nail artists and activate the nail art scene. It is expected that research on nail art design will be expanded and developed through convergence with diverse design areas in the future.

A study on College Education for Korean Textile Design (한국 섬유디자인 교육에 관한 고찰)

  • The textile industry, accounting nearly 25% of total industrial output, has progressed steadily in the last 30 years contributing greatly to the export driven economic development of Korea. Althought the textile industry has some competitiveness in the international market in terms of production capability through the ongoing restructuring effort, the area of textile design lags far behind compared to that of advanced industrial countries. This is believesd mainly due to the inadequate college education in addition to the social indifference toward the design. The current curriculum of textile design in most universities put more emphasis on the artistic aspects of design, rather than preparing the students as design specialists as required by the industries. The education system for textile design should, therfore, be restructured for the purpose of producing professional designers integrating the needs of sosiety, culture, art, economy, and advancing technology.

The Effect of Psychological Counseling using Art Therapy on Improving Worker's Job Efficiency

  • Purpose: There is little emphasis on alternative forms of communication in psychotherapy, thus leaving a gap in research on the impact and effects of alternatives such as using artistic expressions. The current research, therefore, seeks to address the gap by investigating the effect of psychological counseling using Art Therapy on improving workers' job efficiency. Research design, data and methodology: The present author collected topic related to prior studies in terms of psychological counseling, art therapy, and employee job efficiency. And then, the author conducted clear procedure of the screening to eliminate inappropriate previous works including conference papers and dissertations so that this research could obtain only journal articles and books which have been proven by high degree of reliability and validity. Results: This research has concluded that psychological counselling using art therapy is pertinent to improving the worker's job efficiency in various ways, addressing properly mental health issues ranging from small to complicated or acute issues, thus promoting the well-being of employees to work at their optimum or best possible conditions. Conclusions: Psychological counseling using art therapy improves self-confidence, esteem, and awareness. Further, it enhances their social skills, expression capability, and general work ability. Elsewhere it improves coping with pain and reduces stress and depression.

This paper's examination of the latest V6 version of Midjourney reveals notable advancements in its characteristics and design principles, especially in the realm of character generation. By comparing V6 with its predecessors, this study underscores the significant strides made in ensuring consistent character portrayal across different plots and timelines.Such improvements in AI-driven character consistency are pivotal for storytelling. They ensure coherent and reliable character representation, which is essential for narrative clarity, emotional resonance, and overall effectiveness. This coherence supports a more immersive and engaging storytelling experience, fostering deeper audience connection and enhancing creative expression.The findings of this study encourage further exploration of Midjourney's capabilities for artistic innovation. By leveraging its advanced character consistency, creators can push the boundaries of storytelling, leading to new and exciting developments in the fusion of technology and art.

A Study on Development of the Instructional Materials for Elementary School Mathematics Based on STEAM Education (융합인재교육을 적용한 초등수학 수업자료 개발 연구)

  • In the knowledge-based society today, most knowledge is the integrated one which is difficult to be classified into subjects rather than the knowledge of a single subject. Thus, integrated thinking, which integrated knowledge is preferentially acquired first and then can be also associated with imagination and artistic sensitivity, is simultaneously required in order that we have a problem-solving capability in our daily life. STEAM education(science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) is one of the educational methods to improve this problem-solving capability as well as integrated thinking. This research developed materials for STEAM education which can be applied to the 6th grade curriculum of elementary school mathematics, then input it, and analyzed how it impacts with students' attitudes toward mathematics. Unit 3 'Prism' and Pyramid' were restructured and replaced by classes such as 'Spaghetti Project' or 'Paper Craft'. Unit 4 'Several Solid Figure' was taught as a class of 'EDUCUBE'. Unit 6 'Proportional Graph' was taught as a class of 'Creating my own bracelet'. After having this class, we found that mathematics class applied STEAM also has a positive effect on the mathematical attitude of students. Many students said that math is fun and gets more interesting after having math class applied STEAM and we come to know that they have positive awareness of mathematics.

  • This study is to investigate the meaning and value of Usonian Automatic House System(UAHS) of Frank Lloyd Wright in his later period, focused on materials, methods, and his thoughts. The results of this study are follows. UAHS was the outcome of moderate cost and prefab house which Wright had successively attempted after the early Prairie period. The construction was simple and comparatively cheap, but subsequent automatics were difficult and expensive to build. Nevertheless, it was sufficiently flexible to support a rather wide range of house designs. Concrete was the inert mass and a plastic material. Wright saw a kind of weaving coming out of it. He also saw a kind of concrete masonry, steel for warp and masonry units for woof in the automatic concrete block. The reinforced bars in hollowed joints of concrete block increased the safety factor and affected the expression of the construction through the stabilization they provided. But they did not give concrete block the capability of structural span. Standardization as the soul of the machine might be seen in UAHS. The concrete blocks were more cheap, lighter, and larger hollowed plain than textile blocks in 1920s. But the variety of pattern and different block types in the UAHS were achieved at some sacrifice of standardization. The repetitive nature of production was compromised for artistic goals. The sense of compromise was not maximized, however, because the units as installed looked far more repetitive than they actually were.

  • In this modern digital era, there are very vigorous arguments about digital and media aesthetics throughout culture and art on the basis of new transferring of recognition about the art-media's characteristics. Therefore, this paper tries to discover the art-media's characteristics and aesthetic value that are included in contemporary digital fashion through studying the fusion between digital and fashion. The purpose of this research is to offer positive and evolutive opportunity of artistic thinking to make the meeting between fashion and media suggest the future generation, adaptation and recognition in the media - developmental environment that will be deeper and more fueling. In the area of research method, this paper takes the method of theoretical research by referring national and foreign literatures and preceding research-papers, and carries out investigation and analysis about digital fashion for the last 10 years. The results of this study; The art-media's characteristics of modern digital fashion are virtuality, immateriality and characteristics of multimedia. The aesthetic values can be classified with four kinds of properties. First is hybridity initiated from multi-media that creates works; the second is infinite reproductivity initiated from the characteristics of the multi media and the digital carrier. Thirdly, there is also interactivity appeared all over the area of production, adaptation and perception caused by non-linearity and immateriality. Finally there is synesthesia that can extend the capability of sense through digital media.
