  • a basis such as IT(Information Technology), NT(Nano Technology) and BT(Bio Technology). Recently, NT is applied to various fields that are composed of science, industry, media and semiconductor-micro technology. It has need of IT that is ultra-precision positioning technology with strokes of many hundreds mm and maintenance of nm precision in fields of ultra micro process, ultra precision measurement, photo communication part and photo magnetic memory. This thesis represents optimal design on ultra-precision positioning with single plane X-Y stage and development of artificial control system for adequacy of industrial demand. Also, dynamic simulation on global stage is performed by using ADAMS (Automated Dynamic Analysis of Mechanical System) for the purpose of grasping dynamic characteristic on user designed X-Y global stage. The error between displacements from micro stage and from FEM(Finite Element Method) is 3.53% by verifications of stability on micro stage and control performance. As maximum Von-mises stress on hinge of micro stage is 5.981kg/mm$^2$ that is 1.5% of yield stress, stability on hinge is secured. Preparing previous results, optimal design of micro stage can be possible, and reliance of results with FEM can be secured.

  • Arsenic speciation changes between As(V) and As(III) are subject to changes in accordance with redox conditions in the environment. It is common to find contaminated sites associated with mixed wastes including both organic pollutants and heavy metals. We conducted microcosm experiment under hypothesis that the co-disposed organic pollutants would influence on the arsenic forms and concentrations, via degradation of the organic pollutants and the consequent impact on the redox conditions in soil. Artificially contaminated soil samples were run for 40 days with control samples without artificial contamination. We noticed arsenic in the contaminated soil showed different behaviour compared with the arsenic in the control soil. The findings indicate degradation of organic pollutants in the contaminated soil influenced on the arsenic speciation and concentrations. A further work is needed to understand the process quantitatively. However, we could confirm that degradation of organic pollutants can influence on the abiotic processes associated with geochemical reactions in contaminated soil. Degradation of organic pollutants can increase the mobility and toxicity of arsenic in soil and sediment by changing redox conditions in the geological media and subsequently from As(V) to As(III).

  • These days Women have repented their past when they were inactive in attaining their own rights and they've payed attentions in gaining their fundamental rights, especially health rights. The spread of contraception use is important to fulfill women's health right. There are a lot of meanings in the contraception use. It makes women can control their reproductive activities such as pregnancy, delivery, and raising children etc. It gives each woman has autonomy of her life. The review reveals high contraceptive rate and high experienced artificial abortion rate in Korea. It means Korean married couples use contraception inefficiently. From 1970's to 1980's, most of the researches in contraceptions were descriptive and survey studies. Since 1990's, the studies have researched in the feministic perspectives. In order to understand experiences of contraceptive behaviors, qualitative researches through indepth interview did. But the number of researches were limited. The relating factors to contraceptive behavior are knowledge, communication between couples, efficiency of contraceptives, self efficacy, attitudes toward contraception, national policy, mass media, public opinion, age, parity, abortion history, ever-used contraceptive method and educational level. Theses factors affect contraception directly and indirectly. Therefore. researches about contraceptives in the future must focus on development of contraceptive behavior assessment tools and further study should be comprehensive and multidementional.

  • Light has primary function to enlighten the darkness. However, as development and progresses in media has caused big change in our life, the range of usage and application of light is broadened. And these days, light is actively used as a communication tool in a space. This thesis is based on an idea that a new prospect of light is required and at the same time the theoretical foundation should be established to take active advantage of light. In Chapter two, analysis criteria are established to verify study hypothesis. The applied methodology is to analysis the contents based on literature review. Key words related light in space design are extracted and the frequency of those key words are quantitatively measured. Taking advantage of the result, the characteristics of light are divided into three categories, 'light as symbolic information', 'light as communication medium' and 'light as topological form'. In chapter three, analysis of cases is performed. The cases are selected based on space analyzing criteria established in Chapter two. Qualitative analysis is performed on the cases categorized into natural light and artificial light. Basic analysis elements are evaluated for each case. And each case is allocated to one of three categories, 'light as symbolic information', 'light as communication medium' and 'light as topological form'. Through this analysis, it is found that light in space has prevailing characteristics of 'light as symbolic information' and 'light as communication medium'.

  • CNN (Convolution Neural Network) is one of the most important techniques to identify the kind of objects in the captured pictures. Whereas the conventional models have been used for low resolution images, the technique to recognize the high resolution images becomes crucial in the field of artificial intelligence. In this paper, we proposed an efficient CNN model based on dilated convolution and thresholding techniques to increase the recognition ratio and to decrease the computational complexity. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm outperforms the conventional method and the thresholding technique enhances the performance of the proposed model.

  • Along with rapid industrial development, toxic chemicals have been discharged extensively into the environment. Many of them have flowed into the soil which is final acceptor of environmental pollutants. As a result, they have deteriorated soil and groundwater environment. Once the soil and groundwater were contaminated by pollutants, these media can not be easily restored without artificial remediation. Foreign countries which accomplished earlier industrialization compared to our country have invested enormous capital for the remediation of contaminated sites and the development of relevant technology. In our country the reserch on the development of remediation technology has been conducted for several years, but it is still in its initial stage. This report represents remediation technologies, their adaptability and clean up procedure etc. which are being used for the managenent of contaminated site in advanced countries.

  • Optimal culture conditions for efficient in vitro propagation and polysaccharide production of Orostachys japonicus were established. O. japonicus was cultured in media containing various growth regulators and carbon sources. The highest regeneration rate was achieved in 1.0 and $3.0\;mg\;l\;^{-1}$ of 2,4-D concentration, while the lowest was obtained in $10.0\;mg\;l\;^{-1}$ 2,4-D concentration. When different carbone sources were added in the culture medium, plant growth was high in 3% sucrose treatment. The micropropagated shoots were successfully acclimatized in artificial soils and produced comparable amont of polysaccharide compred to parent cultivated plants.

  • An efficient method for in vitro propagation of the medicinal plant Hovenia duleis, was established. Plantlets for micropropagation of H. dulcis were obtained from in vitro germinated seeds. The effectiveness of various levels of cytokinins (BAP, Kinetin and TDZ) on multiple shoot formation from stem nodes was tested. BAP (1.0 mg/L) treatment induced highest number of multiple shoots. The growth pattern of plantlet on various culture media was undertaken. The shoot elongation was optimal on 2MS basal medium without growth regulators. The in vitro rooting ability of H. dulcis shoots was examined with two-auxins IAA and IBA. The IAA (1.0 mg/L) treatments induced earliest rooting with maximum number of roots and root growth. Rooted shoots were transferred directly to small pots with artificial soil and such established plant exhibited a normal growth pattern similar to wild plantlet.

  • Microalgae is considered as one of environmentally sustainable and potential feedstocks to produce biodiesels. However, recent studies on life cycle assessments (LCA) of microalgal buidiesels have shown that energy requirement is not small to produce biodiesel from microalgae, especially during cultivation stage. The costs for carbon sources, nutrients like nitrogen or phosphorous, and water for cultivation can contribute up to 80% of the total medium costs. In the present article, recent trends on the utilization of several promising nutrient sources such as municipal wastewaters, organic fertilizers, combustion exhaust emissions and organic solid wastes were reviewed, and the potential strategies to be used as substitutes of artificial culture media, especially for the biodiesel production, were discussed.
