Development of Machine Learning Education Program for Elementary Students Using Localized Public Data (지역화 공공데이터 기반 초등학생 머신러닝 교육 프로그램 개발)

  • This study developed an artificial intelligence education program using localized public data as an educational method for improving computing thinking skills of elementary school students. According to the ADDIE model, the program design was carried out based on the results of pre-requisite analysis for elementary school students, and textbooks and education programs were developed. Based on localized public data, the training program was constructed to learn the principles of artificial intelligence using machine learning for kids and scratches and to solve problems and improve computational thinking through abstracting public data for purpose. It is necessary to put this training program into the field through further research and verify the change in students' computational thinking as a result.

Design of Liberal Arts Subjects for Artificial Intelligence Education for Pre-Teachers in Elementary and Secondary Schools (초중등 예비교사의 인공지능 교육을 위한 교양 교과목 설계)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop an AI liberal arts subject for pre-service teachers of all majors in elementary and middle school. To this end, the main areas of the AI curriculum, sub-themes for each week, and activities were specifically designed and verified through two rounds of Delphi by 13 experts. The AI liberal arts curriculum in this study consists of three areas. Then, detailed topics for each week were confirmed, and a total of 13 weeks were arranged according to the natural flow. It was intended to help teaching and learning by arranging learning activities based on the experiential learning model according to the learning content. It is expected that this study will be used as basic data for the development of various AI education subjects for pre-service teachers in elementary and secondary schools in the future.

  • In the era of the fourth industrial revolution, the importance of artificial intelligence(AI) is growing day by day, and there is no disagreement that AI education will bring great innovation in the future. Various attempts are being made to educate the topic of AI, but students who have no experience in AI education recognize AI only as a difficult target. Therefore, in this study, we analyze the changes in students' perception of AI by teaching them using AI. AI convergence education were conducted for 6th grade elementary school students, and pre and post tests were conducted in the form of AI awareness survey questionnaires which included questions such as interest in AI, changes brought by AI, and AI education. As a result, we confirm significant results that suggest the level of awareness of AI has improved through AI education in all factors. AI convergence education requires various AI convergence education programs as a form of education for social needs and future students, and hopefully a design based on this will help realize student centered education.

  • The number of confirmed cases of coronavirus-19 is soaring around the world and has caused numerous deaths. Wearing a mask is very important to prevent infection. Incidents and accidents have occurred due to the recommendation to wear a mask in public places such as buses and subways, and it has emerged as a serious social problem. To solve this problem, this paper proposes an open source-based face mask wearing monitoring system. We used open source software, web-based artificial intelligence tool teachable machine and open source hardware Arduino. It judges whether the mask is worn, and performs commands such as guidance messages and alarms. The learning parameters of the teachable machine were learned with the optimal values of 50 learning times, 32 batch sizes, and 0.001 learning rate, resulting in an accuracy of 1 and a learning error of 0.003. We designed and implemented a mask wearing monitoring system that can perform commands such as guidance messages and alarms by determining whether to wear a mask using a web-based artificial intelligence tool teachable machine and Arduino to prove its validity.

Automated infographic recommendation system based on machine learning (기계학습 기반의 인포그래픽 자동 추천 시스템)

  • In this paper, a machine learning-based automatic infographic recommendation system is proposed to improve the existing infographic production method. This system consists of a part that machine learning multiple infographic images and a part that automatically recommends infographics with artificial intelligence only by inputting basic data from the user. The recommended infographics are provided in the form of a library, and additional data can be input by drag & drop method. In addition, the infographic image is designed to be dynamically adjusted according to the size of the input data. As a result of analyzing the machine learning-based automatic infographic recommendation process, the matching success rate for layout and keyword was very high, and the matching success rate for type was rather low. In the future, a study to improve the matching success rate for the image type for each part of the infographic will be needed.

  • In this paper, we design a lightweight embedded device that can support intelligent edge computing, and show that the device quickly detects an object in an image input from a camera device in real time. The proposed system can be applied to environments without pre-installed infrastructure, such as an intelligent video control system for industrial sites or military areas, or video security systems mounted on autonomous vehicles such as drones. The On-Device AI(Artificial intelligence) technology is increasingly required for the widespread application of intelligent vision recognition systems. Computing offloading from an image data acquisition device to a nearby edge device enables fast service with less network and system resources than AI services performed in the cloud. In addition, it is expected to be safely applied to various industries as it can reduce the attack surface vulnerable to various hacking attacks and minimize the disclosure of sensitive data.

  • Seoul Special City, one of the world's top 10 cities and Metro City, has traditional urban manufacturing industries such as printing, sewing, and mechanical metals. Small business owners in these manufacturing clusters have developed in the form of mutual assistance. Due to the nature of the agglomeration site, each process is handled by an individual company. It is difficult for relatively small business owners to prepare order processing services that provide real-time logistics movement information between processes. This paper collects and analyzes existing logistics data for smooth order and delivery of small business owners in package manufacturing and special printing fields We design an artificial intelligence Fulfillment Service Platform system with CRNN, k-NN, and ID3 Decision Tree Algorithm. Through this study, it is expected that it will greatly contribute to increasing sales and improving capabilities by allowing small business owners in integrated areas to use individual orders and delivery customized services through the Cloud network.

A Study on Analysis Criteria for AI Service Impact Assessment (인공지능 서비스 영향성 평가를 위한 분석 기준 연구)

  • This study investigated the criteria for evaluating the impact of artificial intelligence services. The study classified AI evaluation targets into two areas: AI service and AI technology, and identified influence, sustainability, efficiency, effectiveness, and appropriateness as potential evaluation criteria. The time aspect of AI service evaluation was divided into pre-evaluation and post-evaluation, with pre-evaluation focused on reviewing items during development and design. The AI service area was classified into public, private, and mixed forms, and the impact assessment was classified as vertical or horizontal. The application of AI services was divided into normative and regulatory aspects, and the purpose of the evaluation could be impact or process evaluation. The subject and field of the AI service could also be used for classification purposes. The results of this study can be used to support the creation of AI service impact policies and countermeasures. However, further research is needed to develop specific indicators based on the criteria identified in this study to evaluate the impact of AI services.

Comparative Study on Visual and Perceptual Difference Towards the Artworks of Human and Artificial Intelligence Using Eye-Tracking (시선추적장치(Eye Tracking)를 활용한 인공지능(AI) 창작물과 사람의 창작물에 대한 시지각 비교 연구)

  • This study analyzes the visual perceptual difference of observers in the artworks created by human artists and artificial intelligence(AI) through eye-tracking. More specifically, the study analyzes the degree of visual attention through a fixation experiment on non-linguistic sources such as the formation and expression of artworks. As a result of this study, the subjects had guessed that one out of four artworks were created by AI (in actuality, 61.1% of the artworks were created by The Next Rembrandt). This demonstrates that most of the subjects hardly recognized the difference between the artwork of human artists and AI. From the comparative analysis of visual perceptual differences found through eye-tracking, more visual attention was found to be demanded for catching details of more stimulating visuals compared to less stimulating visuals. In the gender difference analysis, both of the female and male subjects were likely to stare more intently at the flowers of still-life paintings (Deep Dream & Vincent Van Gogh) while the eyes of a portrait painting (Rembrandt & The Next Rembrandt); this demonstrates no significant differences in gender. Various opinions on AI and art creation from different perspectives arose, therefore, this research is meaningful in a way that it suggests an objective examination through experiments with an artistic perspective.

Artificial Intelligence Fulfillment Service Platform in Small Business Areas (소상공인 집적지에서의 인공지능 Fulfillment 서비스 Platform 연구)

  • Seoul Metropolitan City, the world's top 10 cities and Metro City, has traditional urban manufacturing industries such as printing, sewing, and mechanical metals. These manufacturing industries have developed in the form of mutual assistance by forming small business clusters according to detailed industries and processes. Due to the nature of the cluster, logistics between companies for each process in the cluster are being carried out quickly, but it is difficult for relatively small small business owners to prepare order processing services for consumers of finished products. Therefore, it is urgent to introduce an integrated order fulfillment service platform for collective business owners for smooth order and delivery processing. In this paper, we collect and analyze the existing Fulfillment Service data of small business owners in the printing industry among traditional urban industries, and design an artificial intelligence Fulfillment Service Platform system applying CRNN, k-NN, and ID3 Decision Tree algorithm. Through this study, it is expected to greatly contribute to the increase in sales and capacity of small business owners by enabling the use of individual orders and customized delivery services that can be used by any small business owner in the cluster.
