Purpose: Warfarin is the most widely used anticoagulant drug for preventing cardiovascular diseases after ischemic stroke and thromboembolism related to atrial fibrillation, artificial heart valves, deep vein thrombosis, and pulmonary embolism. Warfarin is commonly used in combination with other drugs such as diuretics in order to treat the comorbidity. Although several warfarin-diuretics interactions have been reported, the results are conflicting. Therefore, the initial aim of this study was to identify the effects of diuretics on the warfarin response in patients with atrial fibrillation. Methods: One hundred forty six patients with atrial fibrillation who were on anticoagulation therapy with warfarin and maintained INR levels of 2-3 for three consecutive times were followed up, retrospectively. Stable warfarin doses and INR per stable warfarin dose were compared according to age, gender, comorbidity, and concurrent medication. The stable warfarin dose was defined as the maintenance dose of warfarin of the measured patient whose INR was within the target INR range more than 3 times consecutively. Results: The differences of stable warfarin doses in patients with ($3.22{\pm}1.21$ mg/day) and without ($3.58{\pm}1.14$ mg/day) diuretics were marginally significant (P=0.069). On the other hand, stable warfarin doses were $2.97{\pm}1.10$ mg/day in patients with thiazide (n=36) and $3.58{\pm}1.14$ mg/day in patients without diuretics (n=82), which was statistically significant (p=0.009). INR values per stable warfarin dose in patients with diuretics and thiazide were $0.84{\pm}0.31$ and $0.90{\pm}0.34$, respectively, which were statistically different from those without diuretics ($0.72{\pm}0.21$, P=0.010 and P=0.006, respectively). Age, gender, and concurrent use of thiazide diuretics were found to have significant influence on the warfarin response from multivariate analysis. Conclusion: Our study showed that the concurrent use of thiazide diuretics could increase the response of warfarin in patient with atrial fibrillation. Therefore, clinicians should be aware that warfarin dose needs to be adjusted when it is used with thiazide diuretics concomitantly.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship of fine dust PM10 and heavy metals in PM10 in Asian dust flowing into Gwangju from 2013 to 2018. The migration pathways of Asian dust was analyzed by backward trajectory analysis using HYSPLIT (Hybrid Single Particle Lagrangian Integrated Trajectory) model, and the change of heavy metal concentration and heavy metal content per 1 ㎍/㎥ of fine dust PM10 in Gwangju area were analyzed. Also, the characteristics of the heavy metals were analyzed using the correlation between the heavy metals in PM10. As a result of analyzing Asian dust entering the Gwangju region for 6 years, the average concentration of PM10 measured in Asian dust was 148 ㎍/㎥, which was about 4.5 times higher than in non-Asian dust, 33 ㎍/㎥. A total of 13 Asian dust flowed into the Gwangju during 6 years, and high concentration of PM10 and heavy metals in that were analyzed in the C path flowing through the Gobi/Loess Plateau-Korean Peninsula. As a result of the correlation analysis, in case of Asian dust, there was a high correlation between soil components in heavy metals, so Asian dust seems to have a large external inflow. On the other hand, in case of non-Asian dust, the correlation between find dust PM10 and artificial heavy metal components was high, indicating that the influence of industrial activities in Gwangju area was high.

Cyclosporin, an immunosuppressant, is a representative group of biologically active secondary metabolites produced by the fungus Tolypocladium inflatum. The amount and ratio of cyclosporin derivatives in the culture broth are an important factors for the production of cyclosporin A and the purification in the industrial process. Therefore, we studied the effect of amino acids and complex organic nitrogen sources using Tolypocladium inflatum mutants on the productivity of cyclosporin A and the ratio of cyclosporin derivatives. Overproducing mutant YHC-004 having seven times higher productivity than mother strain's could be obtained through the artificial mutation by UV irradiation. The concentration and kind of organic nitrogens and amino acids shows the profound effect on the productivity of cyclosporin A and ratio of cyclosporin derivatives. As a result, it was possible to raise the productivity and the ratio of cyclosporin A up to 3,430 mg/L and 93% respectively, but on the other hand the other cyclosporin derivatives decreased less than 2% in the culture broth.
Proplast and Porous Polyethylene which have porous structures as low-modulus polymers have been recently used in maxillofacial plastic and reconstructive surgery. The purpose of this study was to compare the response of adajacent tissue, new bone formation and stability after augmentation by differen methods of subperiosteal graft using proplast and purous polythylene in rabbit mandible. The augmentation procedure was carried out by dividing into two groups, A and B. A group consisted of subperiosteal graft on the cortex, and the other B group was made up only graft following artificial decortication in the mandibular body of rabbit. The experimental animals were sacrificed on the 1st, 2nd, 4th and 8th week after grafting for macroscopic and light microscopic examination. The samples extracted at the 6th postgrafting week were also used for biometric testing and scanning electron microscopic examination. The results obtained from this study were as follows : 1. Macroscopically, infection of graft site, deformation and migration of graft material were not observed in all experimental groups. 2. B group showed more rapid and increased bone formation and the greater stability than A group, and tissue response was similar to each other. 3. In the tissue response, macrophages and cellular infiltrations were observed in Proplast group, but few in PHDPE group. 4. In bone formation of A group, Proplast group showed no bone formation until the 8th week, but PHDPE group showed small quantity of osteoid tissue from the 2nd week and appositional bone growth with new bone formation at the 8th week. 5. In bone formation of B group, both Proplast and PHDPE group showed bone formation, but PHDPE group showed more rapid and larger bone formation. 6. In pattern of bone formation, Proplast group mainly showed appositional bone growth pattern connected with graft site. On the other hand, PHDPE group showed mixed pattern of new bone formation in the pore connective tissue with appositional bone growth from graff site. 7. The maximum mean values of shear stress were serially $111.3gf/mm^{2}$ in PHDPE of B group, $84.8gf/mm^{2}$ in PHDPE of A group, $32.9gf/mm^{2}$ in Proplast B group, and $15.7gf/mm^{2}$ in Proplast of A group. From above results, It was suggested that the capacity of bone formation and stability between bone and graft material were dependent on the pore size and structure of graft material itself, the state of graft site and tissue response.
As a result of observing the 10-th grade text books on mathematics now in use which show the way of introducing complex numbers for the first time, it is easy to see all the text books on mathematics use a quadratic equation $x^2+1=0$ for a new number i. However, Since using the new number i is artificial, this make students get confused in understanding the way of introducing complex numbers. And students who have problems with the quadratic equation can also have difficulty in understanding complex numbers. On the other hand, by using a coordinate plane with ordered pairs and arrows, students can understand complex numbers better because the number system can be extended systematically through intuitive methods. The problem is that how to bring and use ordered pairs and arrows to introduce complex numbers in highschool mathematics. To solve this problem, in this study, We developed a systematic and visible learning contents which make it possible to study the process of the step-by-step extension of number system that will be applied through elementary and middle school curriculum and all the way up to the introduction of complex numbers. After having applied the developed learning contents to the teaching and learning procedure, we can know that the developed learning contents are more efficient than the contents used in the text books on mathematics now in use.
Background: It has been shown that low-grade electrical stimulus can transform fatigue resistant muscles which then can be used to protect the heart. The bulky and cumbersome power sources of the artificial heart or implantable ventricular assist devices are still in need of solution; however, on the other hand, the implantable ventricular assist devices using the resistant muscles as the power source have the advantages of using its own muscle contractions. The purpose of this study was to determine the possibility of a clinical application of the skeletal muscle ventricle. Material and Method: Latissimus dorsi muscles (LDM) of 8 canines were used for skeletal muscle ventricle. A latex chamber was wrapped one and a half times with LDM. The chamber was attached to a pressure transducer via Tygon tube. An electrode stimulator was placed around the thoracodorsal nerve and LDM was stimulated in cyclic bursts of 0.31 sec on time and 6.0 sec off time using 3.0 volt Itrel stimulator. The preload volume was added to the system in 25cc increments. Ejection volumes, pressures, and peak power outputs were measured. Result: Ejection volume was 76.3cc with 0cc of preload. Ejection volumes were less than 70ml with increments of preload over 75cc Pressures were more than 107 mmHg when the preloads were less than 75cc and less than 100 mmHg when the preloads were more than 100cc. Peak power output of 16.6 W/kg was observed at 50cc preload. Conclusion: Depending on the changes of preload, the volumes ejected from skeletal muscle ventricle and pressures from the skeletal muscle contraction surpassed those of the normal heart. These data suggest that there are clinical applications for skeletal muscle ventricular assist system.
Vegetation established through the natural process, such as Quercus mongolica, Pinus densiflora, Q. variabilis, Q. acutissima, Carpinus laxiflora, Q. aliena and Q. serrata communities and artificially introduced vegetation, which are composed of Larix leptolepis and P. rigida plantations, are established in the mountainous land of the Mt. Songnisan National Park. On the other hand, the developed lands, which are consisted of agricultural folds, residential areas, commercial areas related to tourism, etc. appear in the lowland around streams. Based on the spatial distribution of vegetation, the southern district, which is attributed to Naesongni-myun by administrative system, showed higher natural degree and vegetation diversity. However, most of the other districts, which are attributed to Cheongcheon- and Chilseong-myuns, are covered with the Korean red pine forest, a product of artificial influence, and plantation also occupied higher percentage. Thereby both vegetation diversity and natural degree are lowering. A result of ordination by DCA showed that sands tended to be arranged by depending on the topographic condition. Species diversity of plant communities was higher in broad-leaved stands rather than in coniferous ones and in stands of the early stage than in ones of the late stage. The result of analysis on vegetation dynamics implied that vegetation of this region would be dominated by Carpinus laxiflora, Quercus mongolica and Pinus densiflora communities in the future. However, considered occurrence the of disturbance and response of vegetation on that, this estimation may different somewhat from an actual situation. Conservation strategies of the Mt. Songnisan National Park were discussed in viewpoints of landscape ecology, and conservation of major plant communities and biodiversity.
The purpose of this study is to select the study area, which will be formed into Daegu Science Park as an national industrial complex, and to assess the landscape value based on biotop classification with different polygon forms, and to develop and computerize Biotop Value Assessment Tool (B-VAT) based on GIS. The result is as follows. First, according to the result of biotop classification based on an advanced analysis on preliminary data, a field study, and a literature review, total 13 biotop groups such as forrest biotop groups and total 63 biotop types were classified. Second, based on the advanced research on landscape value assessment model of biotop, we development biotop value assessment tool by using visual basic programming language on the ArcGIS. The first application result with B-VAT showed that the first grade was classified into 19 types including riverside forest(BE), the second grade 12 types including artificial plantation(ED), and the third class, the fourth grade, and the fifth grade 12 types, 2 types, and 18 types respectively. Also, according to the second evaluation result with above results, we divided a total number of 31 areas and 34 areas, which had special meaning for landscape conservation(1a, 1b) and which had meaning for landscape conservation(2a, 2b, 2c). As such, biotop type classification and an landscape value evaluation, both of which were suggested from the result of the study, will help to scientifically understand a landscape value for a target land before undertaking reckless development. And it will serve to provide important preliminary data aimed to overcome damaged landscape due to developed and to manage a landscape planning in the future. In particular, we expect that B-VAT based on GIS will help overcome the limitations of applicability for of current value evaluation models, which are based on complicated algorithms, and will be a great contribution to an increase in convenience and popularity. In addition, this will save time and improve the accuracy for hand-counting. However, this study limited to aesthetic-visual part in biotop assessment. Therefore, it is certain that in the future research comprehensive assessment should be conducted with conservation and recreation view.
As virtual assistants rapidly diffused into the market, the voice shopping market is expected to expand. The purpose of this study is to identify the factors that determine the consumers' intention to adopt voice shopping by using the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology(UTAUT). In this study, we set variables that influence the intention to adoption of voice shopping with performance expectation and effort expectations as the variables of UTAUT and playfulness expectations as an extended variable. In addition, we also include four voice secretary attributes such as response accuracy, compatibility, social presence, and safety in our research model to investigate the source of motivation of voice shopping adoption. The result of this analysis shows that variables such as performance expectation, effort expectation, and amusement expectation have a positive effect on the intention to adoption of voice shopping. With respect to the four voice shopping attributes, compatibility had a positive effect on performance expectancy, effort expectancy, and playfulness expectancy. Social presence has a positive effect on playfulness expectancy. Safety has a positive effect on effort expectancy and playfulness expectancy. On the other hand, response accuracy is not significant for performance expectancy, effort expectancy, and playfulness expectancy. This study reveals the determinants of intention to adopt the new purchasing method called voice shopping, and suggests the important factors for the innovation of commerce business.
Smartphones provide users with environment for communication and sharing information and at the same time play an important role of mobile technology and mobile art development. Smartphone technology-related researches are being accelerated especially with the advent of mobile Augmented Reality(AR) age, but the studies on user participation that is essential for AR content industry were insufficient. In that regard, the assistance from mobile art area that has already developed these characteristics is essential. Thus, this article is to classify mobile art that has not been studied a lot domestically into feature phone usage and smartphone usage and to analyze each example case with the three most used methods. The usage of feature phones which use the sound and images of mobile devices can be divided into three: installation and performing methods, single channel video art method and five senses communication method. On the other hand, the usage of smartphones that use sensors, cameras, GPS and AR can be divided into location-based AR, marker-based AR and markerless AR. Also, as a result of examining mobile AR content utilization technology by industries, combined methods are utilized; tourism and game-related industries use location-based AR, education and medicine-related industries use marker-based AR, and shopping-related industries use markerless AR. The development of AR content industry is expected to be accelerated with mobile art that makes use of combined technology method and constant communication method through active participation of users. The future development direction of mobile AR industry is predicted to have minimized HMD, integration of hologram technology and artificial intelligence and make the most of big data and social network so that we could overcome the technological limitation of AR.
