  • In high-dimensional data analysis, sufficient dimension reduction (SDR) has been considered as an attractive tool for reducing the dimensionality of predictors while preserving regression information. The principal support vector machine (PSVM) (Li et al., 2011) offers a unified approach for both linear and nonlinear SDR. This article comprehensively explores a variety of SDR methods based on the PSVM, which we call principal machines (PM) for SDR. The PM achieves SDR by solving a sequence of convex optimizations akin to popular supervised learning methods, such as the support vector machine, logistic regression, and quantile regression, to name a few. This makes the PM straightforward to handle and extend in both theoretical and computational aspects, as we will see throughout this article.

  • Objective: Pharmacopuncture, a new therapy in traditional medicine, has attracted significant attention since its introduction to the Western world. This short review article employs a database analysis to examine the profile of publication activity related to pharmacopuncture. Methods: Three databases were searched: PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane. About 300 papers related to the topic "pharmacopuncture" were found in these three most-commonly-used databases. Results: Fourteen papers are described in detail and are discussed in the context of the research performed at the Medical University of Graz, especially by the Frank Bahr Research Group "Auriculomedicine and Pharmacopuncture." Conclusion: High-tech research methods concerning future pharmacopuncture studies are briefly discussed.

  • This paper researched on countries effect of country-of origin product of the Korea customer. Also This study was analysis to purchase frequency and purchase place for products of the U.S.A, Japan, China, EU, and Chile in Korea market. That is to say, this study is reviewing on country image subject including country of origin. According to WTO rule, The rules of origin should be administered in a consistent, uniform, impartial and reasonable manner. The objective of this article is to explore the relationship between country of origin and consumer effect using empirical analysis. The country of origin was divided into country of design, assembly, and parts. A survey questionnaire was sent to 250 customer in Korea market, and 220 usable responses were obtained. The 213 samples are analyzed with the countries origin effect. Multiple regression results show that the U.S.A and Japan product are positively affected by the purchase effectiveness of Korea customer's. However, The EU, China and Chile products do not affect effectiveness in Korea market. This article contributes to a understanding of effects of country-or-origin. When the nation image has been made, marketing approaches considering both image of country of manufacture origin and motivational focus can be utilized simultaneously.

  • This study analyzed the type, subject and open level of research data in the field of library and information science field shared by Figshare, and statistically analyzed the characteristics of data with relatively high recyclability. The results of the analysis showed that datasets and papers were most common data types, and open access and research data were the most common keywords of data, and that 70% of the data were published in a form that can not be processed mechanically such as pdf. As a result of analysis of the relationship between characteristics of research data and degree of sharing, open access areas such as APC (Article Processing Charge) were found to be most common in the subject. However in data type, gray literature such as paper found to be highly utilized rather than dataset.

  • Purpose - The purpose of this study is to explore, examine, and analyze Journal of Distribution Science and its articles based on five key factors of journal selection process by Thompson and to provide foundations for further knowledge creation and theory building in the areas of distribution and distribution science. Research design, data, methodology - This study used an exploratory case study method to engage article analysis and reviews of Journal of Distribution Science. Thompson's five journal selection factors were used as criteria for the journal and article analyses and review. Results - Journal of Distribution Science is currently meeting or at least in the progress of meeting the following factors: timeliness of publication, international editorial convention, international diversity, and citation analysis. However, JDS is short of meeting the factor of editorial content. The research topics were not new, emerging, and/or distinctive, and they were not directly associated with specific region or country other than Korea. Conclusions - The findings from this study could lead the field of distribution to reexamine the core knowledge, to reestablish the fundamental concepts and principles, to formulate and propose academically and practically sound research methods, and to develop and focus on unique research topics in the area of distribution.

  • This article assumes that the first newtown has declined in Korea. Urban regeneration projects should be implemented for regeneration for CBD in Newtown as well as small local cities. The purpose of this article is to analyze the character of the subway area and to suggest the key issues for regeneartion in the subway area. Especially focussing on the local important commercial function in 5 subway areas. As a result of analyzing 5 subway areas according to basic statistical data, field interviews, and legal decline diagnostic index, all five commercial districts showed decline. In particular, the decline of Baekseok Station area appears to be serious, and there is a key factor that attracts the decline of the commercial area such as the long - term building or the closure rate of each commercial area. In addition, the vacancy rate is increasing due to large distribution facilities in new cities, the entry of new floating facilities on the outskirts, and unsold new stores, and the recession is accelerating. In this way, the signs of decline in the core of the new city are enriched, but the current Urban Regeneration Act is a legal system with a policy goal of regeneration of small and medium cities in the provinces as a system to promote the function of core bases rather than the overall redevelopment of new cities. Therefore, preemptive response is needed for the regeneration in those areas.

  • This study was to apply FLC(Fashion Life Cycle) concept with extended PLC(Product Life Cycle) theory of marketing for a basis. This article was particularly analyzed relations between demographic variables and fashion lifestyle toward consumer's behavior at decline stage of FLC empirical study was to target women's formal dress. Data were collected from the adult females residing in Youngnam district. Sampling were peformed pretest and main survey. Total 386pcs of answers were used for final analysis. The results of analysis were as follows. First, Hypothesis 1 & 4 were showed meaningful differences between fashion lifestyle patterns and consumer's behavior at decline stage of FLC according to demographic characteristics. Second, Hypothesis 2 also was adopted meaningful differences of consumer's hoarding behavior at decline stage of FLC in accordance with fashion lifestyle patterns. Third, Hypothesis 3 of fashion lifestyle patterns which has related consumer's recycling behavior at decline stage of FLC was rejected. In conclusion, This article discusses implication of fashion marketing strategies and summaries..

  • Citing literature is a very important activity for scholars in writing articles. Many publishers and libraries build citation databases and provide citation reports on scholarly journals. Cited-by linking is a service representing what an article cites and how many times it cites a specific article within a journal database. Recently, information services based on DOIs (Digital Object Identifiers) have been increasing in number. CrossRef, a non-profit organization for the DOI registration agency, maintains the DOI system and provides the cited-by linking service. Recently, the number of Korean journals adopting DOI is also rapidly increasing. The Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information (KISTI) supports Korean learned societies in DOI related activities in collaboration with CrossRef. This study analyzes cited patterns of Korean DOI journal articles using CrossRef's cited-by linking data and a Korean journal citation database. This analysis has been performed in terms of publication country and the language of journals citing Korean journal articles. The results show that DOI, SCI(E) (Science Citation Index (Expanded)), and English journals are more likely to be cited internationally.
