Architectural Monuments have to overcome the challenge of time due to physical properties. The fundamental issue must be grounded in an understanding of history and art to overcome this challenge and make themsustainable. Many efforts to preserve the monuments through the 19th century and at the beginning of the 20th century to record them in scientific form were successful. To be aware of the meaning of the art and not to be 'barbare' anymore was behind the promotion of these activities. Above all, the 19th-century French architect Viollet-le-Duc contrasted the concept of barbarism with the concept of art and tried to redefine architecture as art. The ritual to escape 'barbare' played an important role in the end. This consciousness was also at work in the propaganda for the preservation of medieval architectural monuments in France, led by intellectuals such as Rodin. Also, the concept of 'barbare' served as an important yardstick whenever the cause of their loss was questioned while important monuments were destroyed in the First World War. From the viewpoint of Germany, Dehio was the pioneer of the preservation movement and documentation of monuments. The principle he advocated was preservation, not restoration. The historian Pevsner, who moved to England, also surveyed monuments in various parts of England and left them in the same format as Dehio. These facts show that architecture as art plays a fundamental role in the history of human life.
This paper is to review the conclusions of the Athens conference that has so far contributed to the conservation world. It is normally called the conclusions of the Athens conference as the Athens charter. But the conclusions of the Athens are not as same as the Athens Charter regarding the contents. The former had more valuable contents than the latter regarding historic monuments. And the report of the Athens conference including 56 articles and 500 pages with 55 photos was published in 1933 by the International Museums Office. But little attention has been given to the report of the Athens conference. Therefore the point I want to make is to review to the report in order to understand the agenda of the conference and to examine the Anastylosis in Acropolis. In conclusion, these agendas and the articles in the report show us that the conference was sort of milestone with some advanced modern philosophical and technical concepts about conservation and restoration of historic monuments. Also when the term of anastylosis turns to reconstruction in archaeological sites, we are going to face with the problems of authenticity.
Stone-monuments, distributed in this area, have been investigated and studied in geological and conservational points of view. They are seemed to have been built from the Shilla to Koryeo Kingdoms, although more systematic studies are needed. The used rocks in these monuments are mainly biotite granite of Jurassic age. They are strongly weathered and partly exfoliated along igneous lineation about 1-2 mm(maximum up to 5 mm). They are mainly effected by chemical weathering to be selectively dissolved and by various kind of moss. For conservation, it must be scientifically considered based on characteristics and kind of rock phase, factors on weathering process, situation and protection.
Stone -monuments, distributed in this area, have been investigated and studied in geological and conservational points of view. They are seemed to have been mainly built from the Shilla to Koryeo Kingdom, although more systematic studies are needed. The used rocks in these monuments are mainly biotite granite and hornblende-biotite granite of Jurassic age. The rock phases are nearly identical to those which are distributed in the area. The two rock phases are nearly same in the characteristics of minevalogy and texture except the amount of hornblende. However, hornblende-biotite granite characteristically contains aggregates of mafic minerals which are frequently observable in the monuments. They are mainly influenced by chemical weathering due to warm, abundant rainfall, and salty moisture because of being adjacent to the sea. Some cracks are secondarily developed which may be due to strong chemical weathering and influence of sculpturing. For conservation, it must be scientifically considered based on characteristics and kind of rock phase, factors on weathering process, situation and protection.
Stone-monuments, distributed in this area, have been investigated and studied on the characteristics and the rock phases in the geological and conservational points of view. Most of them may have been built from the end of the Shilla Kingdom to the Koryeo Kingdom, which are based on the typical characteristics of the form. The used rocks in these monuments are mainly biotite granite of the Jurassic age which is widely distributed around the area. Black slate and marbles are also used in some monuments, which may be obtained from other areas. The biotite granite of massive and coarse texture contains often inclusions of biotite aggregates or fragments of dioritic rock phase. However, the biotite granite in the area may be very weak to the chemical weathering so that irregular rock surface shows generally $2\~3mm$ relief. The irregular relief is mainly due to different relative degree on the chemical weathering according to the kind of minerals especially quartz, feldspar and biotite. The chemical weathering is also influenced by organisms. For conservation, they must be scientifically considered based on the characteristics, kind of the rock phase, factors on the weathering process, situation in situ or being transported, and protection.
Wherever Buddhism has flourished, there were stupas in the form of monuments which have their origin in the tumulm of prehistoric times. After the death of Buddha, his body was cremated following the Indian funeral custom. His ashes, which long reserved for the remains of nobles and holymen, were enshrined under such artificial hills of earth and brick. The Stupa was in origin a simple burial-mound. The form of the burial-mound was a symbolical or magic reconstruction of the imagined shape of the sky, like a dome covering the earth. The domical form of the earliest tumuli may have been concious replicas of the shape of the Vedic hut. There are relationships which may have originally existed between the stupa and West Asiatic monuments. Buddhist Stupa originally cosisted of an almost hemispherical tumulus(anda) and an altar-like structure (harmika) on its top, surmounted by one or several superimposed honorific umbrellas (hti, catta). This hemispherical form is associated with centralisation, lunar worship, mother earth, and Siva. Anda means a symbol of latent creative power, the harmika symbolizes the sanctuary enthroned aboved the world. The honorific umbrella, as an abstract imitation of the shade-giving tree is one of the chief solar symbols and that of enlightenment.

One of the promising sectors of the economy today is tourism in all forms and types. The multiplier effect of tourism is huge: the income received from one tourist exceeds the amount of money spent by him at the location on the purchase of services and goods in the range from 1.5 to 4 times. Countries known as world centers of tourism have made it a state policy, taking on the functions of forecasting, coordinating and controlling. The architectural monuments of the city historical structure are a pretty resource for tourism. Cultural tourism as a type of sociocultural human activity is one of the popular and mass types of tourism. The number of people wishing to get acquainted with historical and cultural sights is growing every year. In the cultural aspect, tourism has an impact on the spiritual and material spheres of human life, his way of life, value system, social behavior. Thus, the main task of the study is to analyze the features of the architecture of tourism and tourist complexes. As a result of the study, current trends and prerequisites for the architecture of tourism and tourist complexes were investigated.
Pavilions, follies, and installations provide a place with a new experience beyond that of simple garden architecture. From this point of view, this study tried to analyze the constructs in the Glass House site, which Philip Johnson has built for 50 years. After Chapter 1 Introduction, which summarized the background of the study, Chapter 2 investigated the design background of the landscape and the types of the constructs there. It also, studying literature on pavilions, follies, and installations, defined the basic meanings of them. Chapter 3 identified the features of each construct through the case studies of it, analyzing Johnson's intentions on it. These features are such as the applications of classical follies, the quotations of architectural history, fusion with art, architectural experiments, and the monuments of personal history. In conclusion, this study, finding the site specificity as a common feature of pavilions, follies, and installations, referred to two aspects of this, which are not only physical placeness but also cultural media.
Building Information Modeling (BIM) models are a powerful tool for preserving and using architectural history. Manually creating information models for such a significant number and variety of architectural monuments as Dong drum towers is challenging. The building logic based on "actual measurement construction" was investigated using the metamodel idea, and a metamodel-based automated modeling approach for the wood framework of Dong drum towers was presented utilizing programmable algorithms. Metamodels of fundamental frame kinds were also constructed. Case studies were used to verify the automated modeling's correctness, completeness, and efficiency using metamodel. The results suggest that, compared to manual modeling, automated modeling using metamodel may enhance the model's integrity and correctness by 5-10% while also reducing time efficiency by 10-20%. Metamodel and construction logic offer a novel way to investigate data-driven autonomous information-based modeling.
