The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of assessment by adopting adaptive learning in higher education that are rarely examined in previous studies. In particular, this study applied research questions: 1) How does technical perception, perceived contents and features, and perceived integration of the AI-based adaptive system with lecture affect overall satisfaction, overall effectiveness, overall usefulness, overall motivation for the study, and intention to use it with other classes? 2) How do overall satisfaction, overall effectiveness, overall usefulness, motivation for the class, and intention to use affect loyalty on the AI-based adaptive system? This study conducted online surveys after the completion of the classes adopted AI-based adaptive learning system, ALEKS. This study applied ANOVA, regression, and factor analyses. The results of this study found that perceived integration of the AI-based adaptive learning system with the lectures on overall satisfaction, effectiveness, motivation, and intention to use for other classes showed significant with higher effect size. The results of this study provides implication that the AI-based learning system help improve learning outcomes in graduate level studies. The results provide policy and managerial implications that the AI-based adaptive learning system should improve better customer relationships in higher education.

This study aimed to analyze the effects of athletic career and competition participation frequency on exercise commitment of women university taekwondo athletes. Study subjects were 20 women university taekwondo athletes. Athletic career and competition participation frequency was assessed by 4-points scale and the higher points indicate the higher level of each variables. Exercise commitment was assessed by Exercise Commitment Scale. The assessment consists of a total of 8 questions, 4 of which are action immersion and 4 of cognitive immersion, and is evaluated using a 5-point Likert scale. The higher the score, the higher the level of exercise commitment. As the results, positive relationship showed both correlation and casual relationship analysis between competition participation frequency and exercise commitment. Negative casual relationship (-) showed between athletic career and exercise commitment. These results indicated that the increase of competition participation frequency affects the exercise commitment and the longer of athletic career indicates the decrease the level of exercise commitment. Thus, to improve the exercise commitment of women university taekwondo athletes, the competition participation frequency and athletic career should be considered.
The purpose of this study is to suggest functional priority to increase probability to be adopted by single-person household by designating single-person household as potential early adopter of smart home service. Smart home service is spread slowly for its value. This study applied diffusion of innovations theory to solve this problem. Single-person household who has no other family member who can take care of household is chosen as potential early adopter. This study tried to find grounds of functional priorities through an online survey. The survey questionnaires were composed as following. First, representative attributes of single- person household were reviewed, then measuring questions according to the attributes were recomposed based upon preceding study. After that, concept and status of smart home service were reviewed. and smart home service functions to be measured in this study were selected through analysis based upon representative cases, then Measuring questionnaire were made were three factors which chosen by referring to preceding study about perceived attributes of innovations applied to selected functions. As a result of analyzed 62 responses, except excluded functions which has perceived any special value, set priorites with 9 functions. These functional priorities obtained from these studies will play a role as fundamental data to provide valuable service to single-person household and have a meaning as a starting point to increase rate of adoption for smart home service.
The purposes of this study were to investigate the transition of elderly's welfare service utilization and to examine the factors affecting their utilization as time passed. To solve these research questions, the behavioral model presented by Andersen and Newman(1973) was applied. Using Hallym Aging Panel data consisted of 3 waves from 2003 to 2007, autoregressive modeling and regression analysis were applied for research purposes. The results of this study were as follows; (1) The experiences of welfare service utilization were increasing gradually. The complimentary service for the aged was utilized generally, but leisure service and community service were not used in common. (2) Past experience of service affected service utilization in the following times. (3) The factors affecting older adult's service utilization were different among the types of services. Nonetheless, the factors affecting continuously during the periods were found: age as predisposing factor and area as enabling factor in the complimentary service; area and existence of spouse as enabling factor in leisure service; education as predisposing factor and service cognition as enabling factor in community service. Enabling factor has affected more consistently than other factors. The results showed that special attention should be paid to balanced regional arrangement for welfare resources and the public relation considering the elderly's intellectual level.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the effects of Science Writing Heuristic(SWH) strategy on problem-solving type inquiry modules through student-student verbal interactions. The modules were applied to 23 students of the 3rd grade in middle school and the SWH strategy was applied to 3 experimental groups. The SWH is the strategy that each student, first of all, has a chance to think and propose ways of problem-solving by individual writing a blue card when problems were emerged, and then students discuss ways of problem-solving with group members by writing a green card. Verbal interactions during small group discussions were audio- and video-taped, transcribed and analyzed to compare the effect of the SWH strategy. As a results, experimental groups tended to force solely on questions and suggestions about problem-solving, but controlled groups executed experiment and discussed about problem-solving simultaneously. The analysis also showed that the experimental students dialogued more on the deep-leveled argumental interactions than the controlled students did; in particular, show more SS3 and SD1 verbal interaction regarding suggestions of problem solving. We argue, therefore, that the SWH strategy is effective to the problem-solving type inquiry modules.

The purpose of this study was to develop the FPHER (problem finding, prediction & discussion, hands-on & experiment, explanation & arrangement, enrichment) instructional model emphasizing the social interactions, and as applied, characteristics of verbal interactions were examined overall and with each step. For this study, this model was applied to the students in 10th grade chemistry classes in a science high school, and their group verbal interactions were recorded and analyzed. The results of this study show that most verbal interactions were classified as on-task interactions in the FPHER instructional model, where suggestions were predominant to the acceptance of opinions. There were a few interactions in the F step, and there were many suggestions relating to the solutions and lacking in confidence in the P step. There were many suggestions relating to the process and orders in the H step. Also, there were many questions, some explanation and dissatisfaction, as well as a lack of confidence in the E step. There were many high-level interactions in the R step, and mainly interactions with worksheets showing high-level problem-solving abilities. More in-depth research is needed to develop the teaching strategies that can activate student-to-student interaction and student-teacher interaction with regard to instructions, enhancing thought as counter-argument, justification or sophistication, based on the instructional model in this study.

In this study, 17 formative assessments using cartoon were developed for studying 'genetics and evolution' chapter in textbook of third grade of junior high school. And those were applied to 73 students in experimental group and 78 students in control group. We investigated if there was positive effect on students' perception, attitude about assessment and scholastic achievement. As a result, we could find the formative assessments using cartoon were effective to change students' negative perception and attitude to positive one. Especially, those were effective to make students to understand usefulness of assessment (p<.05), and to decrease a feeling of uneasiness about assessment (p<.01). Also, we could find the developed formative assessments using cartoon had more positive effect on raising scholastic achievement than formative assessment using descriptive passage (p<.05). It was considered that this was because the abstract concepts of 'genetics and evolution' chapter were described in pictures, so contexts of textbook and assessment questions became easier to understand. So, we could conclude that formative assessment using cartoon contributed to increase students' understanding of contexts of textbook and to increase their interests about study. And if this assessment method is applied to class actively, students' feeling of uneasiness about assessment can be easily overcome and it can also give them positive perception about assessment.

In order to prepare for changes in future society, cross-curricular learning is emphasized, and the need to link cross-curricular learning topics and subjects is increasing. However, there are few studies on how to deal with cross-curricular learning in mathematics education. This study analyzed the contents and methods of cross-curricular learning topics in subject-specific curriculum and mathematics textbooks. As a result of the study, the curriculum can be categorized into four types according to the variety of cross-curricular learning topics applied and the presence or absence of a main cross-curricular learning topic, and the mathematics curriculum belongs to the type where some cross-curricular learning topics are dealt with passively and there is no main topic. On the other hand, the analysis of 10 math textbooks for grades 5 and 6 according to the 2015 revised curriculum showed that, unlike the curriculum, various cross-curricular learning topics were applied in the textbooks, mainly environment and sustainable development education, safety and health education, career education, character education, and economic and financial education. In addition, in mathematics textbooks, cross-curricular learning topics appeared in various types such as materials, questions, explanations, illustrations, and in many cases, they appeared mainly as materials or illustrations. Based on these findings, implications were explored and suggested on how to integrate and apply cross-curricular learning topics in mathematics.

Friendships play a very important role during high school. However, unstable friendship quality can induce negative problems such as psycho-emotional problems. This problem can be highlighted based on the characteristics of high school girls who consider the psycho-emotional aspects of friendships more than men do. This study was aimed to analyze the effect of level of quality of friendship on the level of smartphone overdependence of female high school students. Study subjects were 51 female high school students attending the W high school in J city. The assessment of quality of friendship was used by Korean ver. of Friendship Quality Questionnaire. The quality of friendship is 21 items, and the higher the score on a 5-point scale, the higher the quality of friendship. The assessment of smartphone overdependence was used by Smartphone Overdependence Scale. Smartphone overdependence has 10 questions, and a high score on a 4-point scale means a high level of smartphone overdependence. As the results, the negative effect (-) of the level of the quality of friendship on the level of smartphone overdependence. These results indicated that if the level of quality of friendship increase, the level of smrtphone overdependence decrease. Thus, in the process of educational and practical approach for the female high school student, these results should be considered and the approach to improve the quality of friendship should be needed. In follow-up studies, it is necessary to expand the range of subjects and compare and analyze them with various subject groups. In-depth analysis studies should be conducted considering various variables that can affect the relationship between smartphone overdependence and the quality of friend relationships.
In order to improve the SW convergence capabilities of university undergraduate students, methods to evaluate undergraduate students' code design capabilities should be researched along with the development of related courses. In previous studies, there were qualitative evaluation methods and quantitative relative evaluation methods for code results. In the quantitative relative evaluation method, the number of problem decomposition depth, number of function reuses, and number of functions were measured and evaluated. In this study, an evaluation method that was not presented in previous studies was proposed using the problem of presenting the number of input and output information types when designing code. The evaluation problems proposed in this paper applied up to three types of input information and three types of output information. Through this, five code design evaluation questions were presented and a method to quantitatively calculate code design scores was proposed. Codes from 100 student respondents were collected and analyzed through courses that applied the proposed evaluation method. Through result analysis, the number of problem decomposition depths was proportional to the number of types of input information, the number of function reuses was proportional to the number of types of output information, and the number of functions showed a correlation that was proportional to the total number of types of input and output information. Lastly, by analyzing the distribution of evaluation scores of 100 respondents, we demonstrated that the code design evaluation method according to the five input/output information condition evaluation problems is effective.
