  • 고추냉이 뿌리에서 추출된 정유(精油) 물질 중에 약 80%를 차지하고 있는 것이 allylisothiocyanate(AIT)로 알려지고 있다. Allylisothiocyanate 물질은 고추냉이 식물의 2차 대사산물로서 고부가가치를 가질 수 있다. 본 연구는 고추냉이의 allylisothiocyanate를 대량으로 생산하여 산업화하기 위한 기초 연구로서 allylisothiocyanate 물질의 항균과 살균효과를 관찰하였다. 결론적으로 실험에 사용한 미생물에 대한 allylisothiocyanate 농도를 50 ppm 정도 이상 첨가하였을 때 최소 15시간 동안은 증식억제 효과가 있음을 알았다.

  • In this report, nano-sized catalysts were introduced onto fabric surface to eliminate toxic chemicals assisted by physical adsorption. For chemical removal of toxic compounds, a series of zirconium-containing catalysts were synthesized and treated on fabric to catalyze the hydrolysis and oxidation of target molecules. Antimicrobial was also introduced for the research purpose to prove the compatibility of as-synthesized catalysts with other solutions. Zirconium ligated with hydroxyl group and MOF(Metal-Organic Frameworks) were exploited as catalyst for removal of toxic compounds, while zinc complex was used for an antimicrobial to culminate in a chemical shield. Once fabrics were functionalized, fabrics were washed 2 or 5 times for a washing durability test. The amount of catalyst in textile were measured by ICP-MS and weight increasing ratio of fabrics.

  • It is social demands that we are now wanting to be more cozier and clean by the enhancement of the living standard recently. Antimicrobial is essential to the interior materials to prevent bacteria from spreading through passenger using the electric railway called environmentally friendly. In this paper, ion exchanged zeolite was added to the unsaturated polyester resin reinforced glass fiber. To investigate the animicrobial performance. Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli was used according to the FC TM-20-2003 method.

톳분획물의 항균 및 암세포 증식 억제효과 (The Effects on Antimicrobial and Cytotoxicity of Hijikia Fusiformis Fraction)

  • In this study, we investigated antimicrobial and cytotoxicity effects to each· fraction extracted from Hizikiafusifonnis (HF), which were extracted methanol (HFM) and then the extract was fractionated into four different types: hexane (HFMH) , methanol (HFMM) , bulanol (HFMB) and aquous (HFMA) partition layers. We determined the cytotoxic effect of these layers on human cancer cells by MIT assay. Among various partition layers of HF, the HFMB and HFMM were showed the strong cytotoxic effects on cancer cell lines we used. The quinone reductase (QR) induced activity of the HFMB on HcpG2 cells at $150\;{\mu}g/mL$ concentration was 2.63 times more effective compared to the control value of 1.0. Although further studies are needed, the present work suggests that HF maybe a chemopreventive agent for the treatment of human cancer cells.

The treatment of actinomycosis mimicking a retained root tip: a confusing case

  • Actinomycosis is an infection caused by the actinomyces genus and is associated with trauma or previous infection. A 58-year-old male patient was referred from a private dental clinic for root extraction of the lower right molar. The x-ray showed fractured root-like material distal to the distal root of the lower right second molar. A biopsy during extraction of the root-like material was performed, which revealed a sequestrum with actinomycosis by a pathological examination. In this case, the radiopacity of the suspicious lesion was higher than that of the surrounding alveolar bone, which confused it with the root tip. The diagnosis of actinomycosis required long-term antimicrobial therapy, which is very different from simple extraction or removal of sequestrum.

  • The microbiodeterioration of paper material like books, archival material, manuscripts both illustrated and written, decorative wall papers, etc. is a serious problem throughout the world in museums, libraries, archives, etc. where these materials are placed. The major ecological fungi from record materials of library with ancient achieves were isolated and identified as Aspergillus niger, Aspergillus oryzae, Neurospora sitophile. Mucor mucedo, Mucor rouxii, Penicillium notatum, Rhizopus delema, Rhizopus nigracans, Thanmnidium elegans, Tricodema viridae, Bacillus cereus. Bacillus megaterium, Enterrobacter aerogenes, and Staphylococcus auerus. This study was carried out to investigate the antigungal activities of essential oils. The Essential oils from herb were obtained by vapor distillation method, and the antimicrobial activities were examined with ten fungi & four bacteria. It was found to have activity against microorganisms isolated from a achieves stack rooms.

주박 추출물의 항균활성,항산화 및 SOD 유사활성 효과 (Antimicrobial, Antioxidant and SOD-Like Activity Effect of Jubak Extracts)

  • 주박 추출물을 열수와 에탄올로 추출하여 항균활성, 항산화, DPPH 라디컬 소거능 그리고 SOD 유사활성을 실험하였다. 주박의 추출물은 B. subtilis, Staph. aureus, P. aeruginosa 그리고 E. coli 균주에 대해서 모든 항균활성을 가지고 있었다. 대두유 유화물을 이용한 주박의 항산화력은 control보다 추출물이 더 높았다. 그리고 주박 추출물의 농도가 200 ppm일때 효과가 있었다. 주박 추출물의 DPPH의 소거능은 80% 이상의 저해 효과 나타냈다. SOD 유사활성은 에탄올 추출물보다 열수 추출물이 더 높게 나타났다. 주박의 지속적인 연구를 함으로써 화장품 원료로서 가능성이 있고, 또한 주박을 다른 용매 추출법에 의해 식품의 기능성 원료로 기대할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

손바닥 선인장 분말로부터 추출된 항균물질의 특성 (Identification of Anti-Microbial Material Originated from Opuntia ficus-indica var. saboten Makino)

  • 본 연구자들은 동${\cdot}$서양에서 오랫동안 민간요법으로 사용되어져 왔고, 문헌에도 약리적인 작용이 기록되어 있는 Opuntia ficus-indica var. Saboten Makino (손바닥 선인장, 백년초) 줄기 분말을 사용하여 항균생리활성 물질을 규명하고자 하였다. 줄기 분말을 황산으로 가수분해 처리한 후 메탄올, 메틸클로라이드, 에탄올 등의 용매로 추출하였다. 용매추출물 가운데 methylene chloride 추출물의 경우 가장 탁월한 항균활성을 나타내었다. 항균활성을 나타내는 생리활성 물질을 분리 분석하기 위하여 조제용 TLC를 이용하여 산 가수분해 추출물로부터 7개의 분획물을 분리하였다. 7개 분획물 가운데 가장 광범위한 항균활성을 나타내는 유효 분획물로 분리된 것을 MBT-01108이라 명명하였다. 산가수분해로 추출된 분획물 MBT-01108을 구조 분석한 결과 항균 활성을 나타내는 화합물이 levulinic acid임을 밝혀냈다. Opuntia ficus-indica var. Saboten Makino로부터 분리된 levulinic acid는 식품 또는 화장품의 천연 보존제로써 사용가능하리라 판단되며, 또한, 세균성 질병예방, 여드름, 노화 예방, 미백 화장품 성분, 그리고 항생제로도 사용 가능한 물질임을 밝혀냈다.

계면중합에 의한 로즈우드 마이크로캡슐 제조 및 방향.항균가공 (The Preparation of Rosewood Microcapsules by Interfacial Polymerization and Aromatic, Antimicrobial Finishing of Wool Fabric)

  • The purpose of this study is to propose scientific data and to develop complex\ulcornermultifunctional fibers by applying microcapsules containing rosewood oil on wool fabric. Polyurea was used as wall material of microcapsules. The parameters for adoptable condition are 20min of agitation time, 5000rpm of agitation speed, 4% of emulsifier concentration according to the observation with SEM and particle analyzer. The melting peak of microcapsules was shown to be 280$^{\circ}C$ The amount of released rosewood from microcapsules at 25$^{\circ}C$ was below 1 % and at 40% was below 3%. Therefore, polyurea microcapsules is capable of preserving rosewood oil for long self-life at normal temperature. Antimicrobial activity to dry cleaning and ironing cycle of wool fabric treated with microcapsules were maintained.

꽃을 이용한 천연염색 연구(I) - 괴화의 염색성 및 항균성 - (The Study of Natural Dyes on the Flowers(I) -The Dyeability and Antimicrobial Activity of Sophora japonica-)

  • The extracts drawn out from Sophora japonica by methanol was concentrated. Using this concentrate the silk was dyed, 400% conc. of dyeing material, $80^{\circ}C$ temperature of dyeing, 30 min time of dyeing. The K/S value of silk fabric was the most efficient for the simmordanting method. On the other hand, the amount of absorbed mordant the Cu-mordant was largest mordants. The surface colors on the dyed fabric depended heavily upon mordants or mordanting methods. For all cases, the value of the dyed fabric was dark. for the mordanting, color difference was distinct when using the Fe-mordant. Lightfastness of the color fastness was best in Cu-mordant. The Fe-, Cu- mordant showed the greatest antimicrobial activity.
