The U-statistic method is one of the most important structural methods to separate the anomaly from background. It considers the location of samples and carries out the statistical analysis of the data without judging from a geochemical point of view and tries to separate subpopulations and determine anomalous areas. In the present study, 3D U-statistic method has been applied for the first time through the three-dimensional (3D) modeling of an ore deposit. In order to achieve this purpose, 3D U-statistic is applied on the data (Fe grade) resulted from the drilling network in Baghak mine, central part of the Sangan iron mines (in Khorassan Razavi Province, Iran). Afterward, results from applying 3D U-statistic method are used for 3D modeling of the iron mineralization. Results show that the anomalous values are well separated from background so that the determined samples as anomalous are not dispersed and according to their positioning, denser areas of anomalous samples could be considered as anomaly areas. And also, final results (3D model of iron mineralization) show that output model using this method is compatible with designed model for mining operation. Moreover, seen that U-statistic method in addition for separating anomaly from background, could be very efficient for the 3D modeling of different ore type.
The geology of the Pacitan district which occupies Southern mountain zone in the southwestern margin of East Java, Indonesia, consists of a pile of clastics and pyroclastics grading upwards into a series of sediments of Middle Miocene age which are intruded by a number of quartz porphyries and subvolcanic dacitic to andesitic bodies in after that time. The geochemical exploration in the Pacitan district to find out anomalous areas related with metallic mineral dispersion from the concealed ore deposits had been carried out using traditional exploration techniques of geological mapping, stream sediment, panned concentrate and outcrop sampling. The anomalous zones of each element were detected in the following areas: Gempol for Cu; Jompong for Au; Kasihan for Cu-Pb-Zn. The strongest Cu-Pb-Zn anomalous values are overlapped at the Kasihan area. The geochemical survey of soil was conducted with the geological survey at the Kasihan area. The statistical values were calculated by the statistical analysis method. The patterns for Cu, Pb and Zn are similar to the normal distribution. The anomalous values of copper-lead-zinc and/or copper and zinc are overlapped at five zones surrounding quartz porphyry at the central part of the Kasihan area. The area was interpreted and chosen as an anomalous zone related with stockwork and skam mineralization, extending to approximately NNW-SSE direction.
The pulmonary sequestration is a rare congenital malformation of the lung, concerning about the abnormal feeding systemic artery, may happen a serious complication of bleeding during operation if not recognized before operation. We experienced a case of bilateral intralobar pulmonary sequestration preoperatively confirmed by aortogram. An Aortogram demonstrated a anomalous systemic artery arising from thoracic aorta just above the diaphragm. The artery bifurcated and supplied areas of both right and left lower lobes. On the operative field, left lower lobectomy was done with devision and ligation of left branch of anomalous artery and triple ligation of remained branch of anomalous artery was done. Postoperative course was uneventful. She was discharged on postoperative seventeenth day.

Concurrently detected and annotated abnormal events can have a significant impact on surveillance systems. By considering the specific domain of pedestrian trajectories, this paper presents two main contributions. First, as introduced in much of the work on trajectory-based anomaly detection in the literature, only information about pedestrian paths, such as direction and speed, is considered. Differing from previous work, this paper proposes a framework that deals with additional types of trajectory-based anomalies. These abnormal events take places when a person enters prohibited areas. Those restricted regions are constructed by an online learning algorithm that uses surrounding information, including detected pedestrians and background scenes. Second, a simple data-boosting technique is introduced to overcome a lack of training data; such a problem particularly challenges all previous work, owing to the significantly low frequency of abnormal events. This technique only requires normal trajectories and fundamental information about scenes to increase the amount of training data for both normal and abnormal trajectories. With the increased amount of training data, the conventional abnormal trajectory classifier is able to achieve better prediction accuracy without falling into the over-fitting problem caused by complex learning models. Finally, the proposed framework (which annotates tracks that enter prohibited areas) and a conventional abnormal trajectory detector (using the data-boosting technique) are integrated to form a united detector. Such a detector deals with different types of anomalous trajectories in a hierarchical order. The experimental results show that all proposed detectors can effectively detect anomalous trajectories in the test phase.
In this study, the correlation between the frequency of summer tropical cyclones (TC) affecting areas around Korea over the last 37 years and the western North Pacific monsoon index (WNPMI) was analyzed. A clear positive correlation existed between the two variables, and this high positive correlation remained unchanged even when excluding El Ni$\tilde{n}$o-Southern Oscillation (ENSO) years. To investigate the causes of the positive correlation between these two variables, ENSO years were excluded, after which the 8 years with the highest WNPMI (positive WNPMI phase) and the 8 years with the lowest WNPMI (negative WNPMI phase) were selected, and the average difference between the two phases was analyzed. In the positive WNPMI phase, TCs usually occurred in the eastern waters of the tropical and subtropical western North Pacific, and tended to pass the East China Sea on their way north toward Korea and Japan. In the negative WNPMI phase, TCs usually occurred in the western waters of the tropical and subtropical western North Pacific, and tended to pass the South China Sea on their way west toward the southeastern Chinese coast and the Indochina peninsula. Therefore, TC intensity was higher in the positive WNPMI phase, during which TCs are able to gain sufficient energy from the sea while moving a long distance to areas nearby Korea. TCs also tended to occur more often in the positive WNPMI phase. In the difference between the two phases regarding 850 and 500 hPa streamline, anomalous cyclones were reinforced in the tropical and subtropical western North Pacific, while anomalous anticyclones were reinforced in mid-latitude East Asian areas. Due to these two anomalous pressure systems, anomalous southeasterlies developed in areas near Korea, with these anomalous southeasterlies playing the role of anomalous steering flows making the TCs head toward areas near Korea. Also, due to the anomalous cyclones developed in the tropical and subtropical western North Pacific, more TCs could occur in the positive WNPMI phase.
The geochemical exploration was carried out of the soil systems in the survey areas(Mt. Subang area). The chemical values of soil samples for soil in this area are defined such as over values of Ag : 11 ppm(Average : 1.91 ppm), Au 548 ppb(Average 42.39 ppb), Cu : 89 ppm(Average:51.40 ppm), Pb:190 ppm(Average : 23.69 ppm), Zn : 157 ppm(Average : 61.78 ppm), respectively. Anomalous areas for each element have been chosen based on the factors such as, geologic settings, geochemical survey, chemical analysis of ore, chemical analysis of soil. statistical processing of the chemical analysis. Therefore, multi-elements anomalies area were recognized in the east-center part of the study area.
The trench exploration was carried out on the quartz veins of the Tanggung area of Java, Indonesia. The chemical values of quartz vein samples for hydrothermal alteration zones in this area are defined such as over values of Ag : 2∼190ppm(Celak); 2∼41 ppm(Cilangkap), Au : 21∼17,400 ppb(Celak); 24∼91,100 ppb(Cilangkap), Cu : 9∼3,340 ppm(Celak); 2∼l,600 ppm(Cilangkap), Pb : 60∼52,900 ppm(Celak); 16∼2,960 ppm(Cilangkap), Zn : 12∼13,950 ppm(Celak); 14∼1,520 ppm(Cilangkap), respectively. Two drilling areas, Mt. Subang area(Celak area) and Mt. Cilangkap area(Cilangkap area), have been chosen based on the factors such as, geologic settings associated with gold mineralizations, highly anomalous areas revealed by geochemical survey such as chemical analysis of ore and soil, trench exploration, statistical processing of the chemical analysis, and petrographic studies of igneous rocks related to its mineralization, and graphic presentation of anomalous areas.
One of the most important procedure in stereo DEM generation is the stereo matching process which finds the conjugate pixels in a pair of stereo imagery. In order to be found as conjugate pixels, the pixels should have distinct spatial feature to be distinguished from other pixels. However, in the homogeneous areas such as water covered or forest canopied areas, it is very difficult to find the conjugate pixels due to the lack of distinct spatial feature. Most of erroneous elevation values in the stereo DEM are produced in those homogeneous areas. This paper presents a simple method for improving the quality of stereo DEM utilizing the texture filters. An entropy filter was applied to one of the input stereo imagery to extract very homogeneous areas before stereo matching process. Those extracted homogeneous areas were excluded from being candidates for stereo matching process. Also a statistical texture filter was applied to the generated elevation values before the interpolation process was applied in odor to remove the remaining anomalous elevation values. Stereo pair of SPOT level 1B panchromatic imagery were used for the experiments. The results showed that by utilizing the texture filters as a pre and a post processor of stereo matching process, the quality of the stereo DEM could be dramatically improved.

Fresh water discharge from the sea floor strongly affects a coastal ecology and the diffusion of contaminants. Much fresh water discharge has been found in the edge of Kurobe alluvial fan, in which annual rainfall is over 4000mm and there is abundant groundwater. However, it is difficult to find the groundwater discharge, thus the search of possible areas with some remote sensing tools is required. Because the temperature of the discharge point is relatively low compared with the surrounding sea water surfaces, there is a possibility to detect the area as an irregular zone of thermal infrared images. Two anomalous temperature zones, which have no surface streams from rivers, are detected by ASTER thermal-infrared images. One of them was verified as the groundwater discharge point by dives. In addition, the distribution of water table under the land side of the two areas is also detected as irregular zones by a ground-penetrating radar
This paper aims to examine economic values of green spaces for non-Capital areas that have been rarely studied. Choice experiments were applied to two dissimilar but adjoining areas: The City of Jeonju and Wanju County. Split-sample surveys allowed to compare between apartment dwellers and single- or multi-family house dwellers, and across differing types of green spaces. According to the results, significant and substantial preferences might prevail not only for large cities, but also for agricultural areas. The mean willingness-to-pay (WTP) values of apartment dwellers for the view of a river/lake or mountain were generally smaller than those of Seoul, while the overall access values showed the opposite relationships. House dwellers in Jeonju showed substantially larger economic values for green spaces than those of the counterparts in Seoul, except for the access value of a river/lake. The findings grant follow-up studies investigating the reasons for the anomalous preferences particularly in Jeonju and identifying new management policies for non-Capital areas.
