This study explores the applicability of social capital theory in IT project management. Specifically, an empirical model is developed using different types of leadership competencies (emotional, cognitive, and social) as independent constructs impacting IT project performance. Social capital shared among team members are measured and placed as a mediating construct between leadership competencies and performance. Using PLS analysis of 120 data points collected through a survey of IT project participants in two large electronic manufacturers, direct and indirect impacts of leadership competencies are explicated. Research results reveal that emotional leadership competency seems to directly influence the project performance but not through team social capital, while social leadership competency seems to indirectly influence the project performance through team social capital but not directly onto the project performance. Cognitive leadership competency is the only leadership competency that maintains direct and indirect influence on project performance. Total effect of cognitive competency on project performance is almost two times larger than the total effect of emotional leadership competency and six times larger than the total effect of social leadership competency. Implications of findings are discussed at the end, and further studies are suggested.

With various success stories of crowdfunding, government's establishment of crowdfunding act, and expected rapid growth of crowdfunding market, the potential ripple effect of crowdfunding on our society is anticipated to be enormous. This study investigates the influential factors and their impacts on the likelihood of project success in donation-based crowdfunding through the DonorsChoose case. The authors analyze the characteristics of project creator, characteristics of project, and behaviors of project participants in relation to the success or failure of the corresponding project. Consequently, the authors found that participants of donation-based crowdfunding exhibit altruistic behaviors and obtained the following specific results: First, donation participation and social capital of the project creator, and marginal help utility of receivers positively affect the success of project. Second, experience of past project creation of the project creator negatively affects the success of project. Third, past donations of the project creator to others' projects, when not appropriately signaled like on the DonorsChoose platform, may not exert a positive influence on the success of project and the reciprocity principle may not work.

The advent of Web2.0 has believed to be the solution against many barriers in information sharing, especially wiki. Information sharing and collaboration are realized voluntarily and unselfishly with wiki. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the benefits and challenges of using wiki as a project management method in an IT/IS project. Wiki-based project management could provide project managers and members with expert knowledge collaboration for better project results. In the research model, we used TMS(Transactive Memory System) theory to define the relation of collaboration and performance of project members. Based on a survey among project members, the interactions between wiki characteristics and performance are examined in an IS project environment. Using Smart PLS 2.0, the data was analyzed to define the interactions by the structural equation modeling. From the empirical data, the mediated effect of expert knowledge collaboration is supported. We also derive the implications of wiki-based method. It is expected to bring new possibilities of Project management performance.

The importance of project performance management as an alternative for solving problems is rising, which are followed by the hardships of managing construction project in the construction industry. This research classifies and applies the improvements made by the operator's work, in order to apply factors of success on the construction project, as performance management factors. In addition, in order to predict the results reflecting the project characteristic of performance management factor un-improvable by the operator in the initial stage of construction, the effect of project characteristic to the performance was drawn by performance difficulty. Also, in order to improve the predicted performance, researches on setting valid best practices according to the performance territory through a correlation analysis between the best practices improvable through the operator's work, and the performance was made.

Recently, knowledge transfer has been recognized as one of the major factors for success of IT projects but little investigated in Information Systems research. IT project, which needs collaboration between organization's IT project team and external partner, is an critical source for a firm to acquire external knowledge and to achieve its competitive advantage. Based on this recognition on knowledge transfer under IT project, we investigate a mediation role of knowledge transfer to IT project performance after identifying its antecedents such as project team capabilities and partner capabilities. The research model is tested by analyzing 161 sample data gathered from firms' employees who have participated IT projects within last two years. The results reveal that knowledge transfer has full-mediation effect between its antecedents and IT project performance. Moreover, project team capabilities have more impacts on knowledge transfer than partner capabilities do.

This study was to investigate the elaborated project based learning model for scientifically gifted in the context of R & E project learning. It is important for the scientifically gifted to provide the appropriate learning environments instead of general learning model for the gifted. Although R & E project learning model is effective, the model has the limitations of managing the course for the scientifically gifted. To improve R & E learning model, the elaborated project based learning model was suggested with integration of both project based learning model and goal based scenario. The elaborated project-based learning model was comprised with 'basic learning process', 'elaboration through inquiry', and 'presentation and reflection'. To measure the satisfaction, eighty scientifically gifted students participated in the class. The result shows that learners were satisfied with the elaborated project-based learning up to 90%, and teachers were satisfied with this model up to 77%.

This report is the result of interim evaluation of a health promotion project which was operated by a public health center of K Gu in the year of 2000. It evaluated the aspects of the aim of a project, a target group. and adequacy and appropriateness of a approaching strategy by considering data of public health center's self-evaluation, and guidelines of a group assigned to evaluate the project. The way of evaluation was dividing the project into a colligated evaluation and a evaluation by projects in the aspects of the structure, the procedure. and the result of a result. Through this. a device to improve the health improvement project was derived. The target data for evaluation was the second data and data of self-evaluation, reported data, membership register data of a health management. and interview materials with the people in charge by projects that are all collected as a project management documents. The result of evaluation is stated below. 1. Main purpose of a health promotion project is building a environment of healthy life practicing and providing information through various ways to increase the rate of practicing healthy life. Through overall project. the ultimate purpose and definite purpose were same, however, it was not quite satisfied to offer planning of a time, and a target amount in detailed strategy. As the purpose was to build environment of healthy life practicing. most of the projects had the whole community citizen as a target group. That made difficult to operate detailed projects. so the result was hard to estimate as much as the effort put into it. Also, there were too many kinds of projects and target groups to be equal to by the human source of a health promotion project team. so we were just bent on operating a project. and could not prepare for the evaluation. As the most of former evaluation of public health service was just counting number of the objects, the new way of evaluating a project wasn't familiar to us. so the evaluation of a detailed project cannot be done well. Techniques and advices needed for all of these things weren't offered appropriately. For the forward direction of unfolding project. it is desirable to operate project by selecting focused target and considering a strategy of evaluation as a strategy of reasonable spread. The evaluation of the project became difficult as participation of citizen for it was poor. So, approach strategy that can lead the motivation of community citizen should be derived. 2. For the continuation of a health promotion project, technical assistance system. description of a field in charge, and arrangement of the amount of task should be developed as a central level. Furthermore, as the health promotion project focus on behavioral modification program whose purpose is to lessen dangerous factors. the public health service model which is incorporated with former project should be developed and spread out in the field for the object-centered project plan.

This paper is empirically to examine the effects of project manager's competencies (intellectual, managerial, and emotional competencies) on the performance for planning and outcome of NPD (new product development) project in project matrix organization. To achieve this purpose, we employ a field survey of project managers in project matrix organization and PLS (partial least square) structural equation modelling to test hypotheses of our research model. The results show that intellectual competency positively affect both of performances for planning and for outcome, whereas managerial and emotional competencies have not significant effect on them. Our attempt is to provide theoretical implications to current studies related to project management and helps for practitioners to develop a program for selecting and training capable and promising project managers.

The differences between Corporate Finance and Project Finance are remarkably appeared in Risk Allocation and Limited Resource. To use successful Project Finance in construction industry, first, raising project confidence, second, technical : economical : lawful evaluation by Finance Expert, third, Income Guarantee for Lender or Consortium of Lending Banks, forth, Leverage Effect of Project Sponsor must be preceded.
