An Ultrasonic NDT System using Modified A-scan Method (A-scan 방식을 응용한 초음파 비파괴 검사 장치)

  • In most of ultrasonic NDT(Non-Destructive Testing) equipments using A-scan display technic, it is one of the inconveniences that the user must be proficient in reading the displayed signals for the accurate decisions. In this study, a simple microprocessorized NDT machine for the flaw detection was developed. The operation of system is based on the conventional NDT system. The microprocessor detects the time delay between transmitted pulse and echos by counter-measure method. Then according to the scanning position, the location of flaw orthe other side of testing object is plotted on the CRT. The main advantages of the developed system are simplicity in handling, recording capability of measured data, and low cost.

  • As the automic power plant is increased, load leveling energy storage system becomes more important. Pumped hydroelectric storage, used in the present, has too storage efficiency and difficulty in selecting site. But SMES(Superconducting Magnet Energy Storage) has high storage efficiency (90%), fast time response characteristics and ease of location. The general object of SMES with electric power system is the minimization overall production cost. This paper presents a method for the economic operation of SMES by Dynamic Programming.

  • Aspherical lens design method named ray reverse tracing method is introduced. Differently from the traditional design method, the ray reverse tracing method traces the shape and location of a real object by use of its virtual image. From the result, it was convinced that spherical aberration free aspherical lens could be designed by use of the ray reverse tracing method. Furthermore, it could reduce the degree of dependence of optical characteristics on designer's ability, because deformation terms and optimization can be eliminated, which has been performed in conventional lens design process.

  • There exist geometrically invariant relations in single-view images under a specific geometrical structure. This invariance may be utilized for 3D object recognition. Two types of invariants are compared in terms of the robustness to the variation of the feature points. Deviation of the invariant relations are measured by adding random noise to the feature point location. Zhu’s invariant requires six points on adjacent planes having two sets of four coplanar points, whereas the Kaist method requires four coplanar points and two non-coplanar points. Experimental results show that the latter method has the advantage in choosing feature points while suffering from weak robustness to the noise.

  • 유클리디언(Euclidean)공간을 가정한 이동객체를 위한 색인구조 연구가 많이 진행되어 왔다. 그러나 LBS(Location Based System) 및 텔레매틱스 응용이 활발해짐에 따라, 이를 효과적으로 지원하기 위해서 도로 철도와 같은 공간 네트워크를 고려한 색인구조 연구가 요구된다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 공간 네트워크상에서 이동객체를 효율적으로 색인할 수 있는 궤적기반 색인구조를 설계한다. 이를 위해 공간 데이터와 시간 데이터를 분리하여 색인하고, 실세계에서 공간네트워크상의 이동객체에 대한 질의를 시공간+궤적 질의, k-최근접 질의, 시간+궤적 질의로 분류하고, 이를 위한 질의 처리 알고리즘을 설계한다.

  • Niching method enables the genetic algorithm(GA) to be applied to the problems that require the location of multiple solutions in the search space, but these methods have fatal disadvantages. The main disadvantage is that the method requires too much calculation of object function. In this paper, a niching method using restricted competition selection(RCS) combined with a pattern search method(PSM) is proposed to identify multiple niches more efficiently and fast in a multimodal domain. The validity of the proposed method is verified by the simulation of test functions and the optimal design of an torque motor.

  • In recent years, owing to the development of the image processing technology, the research to build control system using a vision sensor is stimulated. However, the time delay must be considered, because it works of time to get the result of an image processing in the system. It can be seen as an obstacle factor to real-time control. In this paper, using the pattern matching technique, the location of two objects is recognized from one image which was acquired by a camera. And it is implemented to a position control system as feedback data. Also, a possibility was shown to overcome a problem of time delay using PID controller. A number of experiments were done to show the validity of this study.

  • 본 논문은 사용자 단말기의 이동성을 지원하기 위한 이동 컴퓨팅 구조에 대한 내용을 다루고 있다. 이를 위하여 사용자 MS, 고정망에서 MS를 대신하는 이동 에이전트 프로세스, 핸드오프 과정에서 MS에 중단없는 서비스를 제공하기위하여 이동 에이전트 프로세스의 위치를 추적하는 추적 에이전트 프로세스에 관한 내용을 소개한다. 논문에서 소개되는 추적 에이전트 프로세스의 도입으로 유선 환경의 응용서비스들의 무선 이동 환경에서도 호환성을 가질 수 있는 장점을 갖게 된다. 핸드오프 알고리즘은 패킷 손실이나 순서의 변경과 같은 흐름제어 기능을 포함하고 있으며, 무선핸드오프에서 발생 가능한 하드 핸드오프와 소프트핸드오프를 함께 고려하였다. 시뮬레이션의 결과는 핸드오프과정에서의 추가 지연 시간에 대한 내용을 다루고 있으며 각 객체간의 거리를기준으로 분석하였다.

  • In this paper, we investigate a problem with an e-learning system for e-business environments and introduce the solving method of the problem. To be more accurate, existing Web-hosted and ASP (Application Service Provider)-oriented service model is difficult to cooperate and integrate among the different kinds of systems. So we have produced sharable and reusable learning object, they have extracted a principle from pedagogical designs for units of reuse. We call LIO (Learning Item Object). This modeling makes use of a constructing for XML Web Services. So to speak, units of reuse from pedagogical designs are test tutorial, resource, case example, simulation, problem, test, discovery and discussion and then map introduction, fact, try, quiz, test, link-more, tell-more LIO learning object. These typed LIOs are stored in metadata along with the information for a content location. Each one of LIOs is designed with components and exposed in an interface for XML Web services. These services are module applications, which are used a standard SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol) and locate any computer over Internet and publish, find and bind to services. This guarantees the interoperation and integration of the different kinds of systems. As a result, the problem of e-learning systems for e-business environments was resolved and then the power of understanding about learning objects based on pedagogical design was increased for learner and instruction designers. And organizations of education hope for particular decreased costs in constructing e-learning systems.
