We intend to describe a 12kW building-integrated photovoltaic system which was applied into the south wall of a new building. This study showed the results that were appeared from describing the PV module manufacture and installation process, and performing generation performance analysis of BIPV system. From the result we confirmed that the generation performance of the BIPV system was changed by season. The performance ratio(PR) was about 83.6% in winter and it means that performance of this BIPV system was so good in that season. On the other hand, the PR in summer was about 75.0% dropped about 8%. It was believed that the change was influenced by the reduction of solar radiation irradiated into the PV modules by installation position and rainy spell in summer. And we also confirmed that low irradiation condition is cause of the additional loss in the total PV system. In this case, the efficiency ratio of PCS drops significantly at low input loads and the average conversion efficiency of PCS in summer was 76.4% decreased about 10% from 86% in winter.
Biodiesel has attracted great attention as an alternative renewable energy source for the replacement of petroleumbased diesel fuel, yet its high production cost due to expensive oil feedstock remainsas the major economical obstacle. In this study, we investigated catalysts and reaction conditions for the acid catalyzed pre-conversion of free fatty acid (FFA) to fatty acid methyl ester (FAME) in cheap low-grade oils of high acid value. The NaOH base catalyzed reaction of vegetable oil of the initial acid value of 2 mg KOH/g led to a high FAME conversion above 95.4%, but the conversion abruptly decreased at higher initial acid values. This base catalyzed reaction was practically ineffective displaying the FAME conversion below 15% even at the initial acid value of 10 mg KOH/g by the severe saponification side reaction. Among the various catalysts studied for the pre-conversion of FFA to FAME, Amberlyst-15 was the most effective in reducing the acid value, and the optimum reaction condition identified was $65^{\circ}C$ with oil to methanol ratio of 1:3 and catalyst concentration of 15% (w/w). As the results, great enhancements in the overall biodiesel conversion were achievable via a consecutive reaction of the acid catalyzed FFA pre-conversion to FAME under the optimal condition obtained with Amberlyst-15 followed by the NaOH base catalyzed reaction, far above the extent which was obtainable by the single NaOH catalyzed reaction.
Photovoltaic solar cells are all in the incident because they are not converted into electrical energy, high-efficiency solar cells in order to reduce the loss of elements must be. Significant factor in the loss of solar cells, optical loss and electrical loss can be divided into. Optical losses occur when the sun will be joined on the surface of the reflection, the shadow loss due to electrodes, and the losses are in the solar wavelengths. Commercialization is currently the most common solar cells on the front of the light incident on the electrode is formed. Therefore, the shadow caused by the electrode to cover the dead area of the sun, due to factors that hinder the absorption of sunlight which is shadowing them and conversion efficiency of solar cells is the inhibition factor. These barriers to eliminate the electrode linewidth reduces the shadowing to reduce, but simply of the electrode line width is reduced electrode area by reducing the series resistance elevates this because to improve the electrode Aspect ratio(height/width) to increase Ag development of paste is required. In this study, aspect ratio of screen-printing method to increase the electrode Ag paste composition of the binder for the characterization of rheology in the shadow of the electrode by reducing the optical loss of the photoelectric conversion efficiency of solar cells to boost the performance measures was. Properties and printability of the paste, the binder resin sintered characteristics that affect the thermal properties are excellent with a good screen printability acrylic resin, ethyl cellulose, using a resin were evaluated. Prepared paste rheology properties, was formed to evaluate the electrode conductivity and aspect ratio.
We reviewed the electrical properties of SOFC anode manufactured using spherical Ni and nano YSZ powder. When core-shell is fabricated by using submicron Ni as core and nano-sized YSZ as shell for SOFC anode, the electrical conductivity of the $0.2{\mu}m$ Ni-YSZ core-shell was 3 times higher than that of $1.0{\mu}m$ NiO or $1.0{\mu}m$ Ni-YSZ. Hydrogen selectivity was similar at $800^{\circ}C$, but hydrogen selectivity and methane conversion rate under $750^{\circ}C$ was 10~25% higher, Power density was more than 2 times, ASR was about 1/3, when exposed to $H_2$ atmosphere at $750^{\circ}C$ for a long time, Ni particles did not have any growth or cut off conduction path.
Popular techniques for producing hydrogen by converting methane include steam reforming and catalyst reforming. However, these are high temperature and high pressure processes limited by equipment, cost and difficulty of operation. Low temperature plasma is projected to be a technique that can be used to produce high concentration hydrogen from methane. It is suitable for miniaturization and fur application in other technologies. In this research, the effect of changing each of the following variables was studied using an AC GlidArc system that was conceived by the research team: the gas components ratio, the gas flow rate, the catalyst reactor temperature and voltage. Results were obtained for methane and hydrogen yields and intermediate products. The system used in this research consisted of 3 electrodes and an AC power source. In this study, air was added fur the partial oxidation reaction of methane. The result showed that as the gas flow rate, the catalyst reactor temperature and the electric power increased, the methane conversion rate and the hydrogen concentration also increased. With $O_2/C$ ratio of 0.45, input flow rate of 4.9 l/min and power supply of 1 kW as the reference condition, the methane conversion rate, the high hydrogen selectivity and the reformer energy density were 69.2%, 32.6% and 35.2% respectively.
This study investigated the hypolipidemic and antithrombotic effects of linolenic acid derived from Korean perilla oil. The experimental rats(male, Sprague-Dawley) were divided into 5 groups using a Randomized Complete Block Design and fed one of the five following diets : DO*/O#. D4/O, D4/4, D4/8, or D4/20(D*/# represents the ratio of linoleic to linoenic acid as the percentage of total dietary energy intake) for 4 or 8 months. Bleeding time and whole blood clotting time were determined and the composition of serum and platelet lipids analyzed. Comparisons from the DO/O to the D4/20 group showed that serum lipids (total lipid, triglyceride, total cholesterol, and HDL-cholesterol) gradually decreased with increasing linolenic acid intake - the hypolipidemic effect. The composition of platelet fatty acids[the ratio of eicosapentaenoic acid(EPA)/arachidonci aci(AA)] increased gradually with increasing linolenic acid intake. Higher linolenic acid intake increased bleeding time and whole blood clotting time, and decreased malondialdehyde(MDA) production in the platelets, though no significant differences. These results suggest that linolenic acid derived from perilla oil appears to suppress the conversion of linoleic acid to AA and the EPA transformed from linolenic acid appears to suppress the conversion of AA to TXA2. Since TXA2 is a platelet-aggregating and vasoconstricting agent, the redulction of TXA2 released by platelets with increasing intake of perilla oil containing a lot of linolenic acid confers an antithrombotic effect.

In this paper, the effects of ethanol blended gasoline on emissions and their catalytic conversion efficiencies characteristics were investigated in gasoline engine with an electronic fuel injection. The results showed that the increase of ethanol concentration in the blended fuels brought the reduction of THC and $CO_2$ emissions from the gasoline engine. THC emissions were drastically reduced up to thirty percent. And brake specific fuel consumption was increased. but brake specific energy consumption was similar level. However. unburned ethanol and acetaldehyde emissions increased. The conversion efficiency of Pt/Rh based three-way catalysts and the effect of ethanol on CO and NOx emissions were investigated by the change of engine speed. load and air/fuel ratio. Furthermore, the ethanol blended fuel results in the reduction effect of THC. CO and NOx emissions at idle speed.

In this paper, in order to enhance thrust of slotless type Permanent Magnet Linear Synchronous Motor, an optimal design is achieved by combining a genetic algorithm with 3D space harmonic method. In the case of multi-objective functions, the ratio of thrust/weight and thrust/volume are increased by $\7.56[%]l\;and\;7.98\[%]$, respectively. Thus, miniaturization and lightweight were realized at the same time.
The binding interaction of ethidium to a series of synthetic deoxyoligonucleotides containing a B-Z junction between left-handed Z-DNA and right-handed B-DNA, was studied. The series of deoxyoligonucleotides was designed so as to vary a dinucleotide step immediately adjacent to a B-Z junction region. Ethidium binds to the right-handed DNA forms and hybrid B-Z forms which contain a B-Z junction, in a highly cooperative manner. In a series of deoxyoligonucleotides, the binding affinity of ethidium with DNA forms which were initially hybrid B-Z forms shows over an order of magnitude higher than that with any other DNA forms, which were entirely in B-form DNA The cooperativity of binding isotherms were described by an allosteric binding model and by a neighbor exclusion model. The binding data were statistically compared for two models. The conformation of allosterically converted DNA forms under binding with ethidium is found to be different from that of the initial B-form DNA as examined by CD spectra. The ratio of the binding constant was interestingly correlated to the free energy of base unstacking and the conformational conversion of the dinucleotide. The more the base stacking of the dinucleotide is unstable, or the harder the conversion of B to A conformation, the higher the ratio of the binding constant of ethidium with the allosterically converted DNA forms and with the initial B-Z hybrid forms. DNA sequence around a B-Z junction region affects the binding affinity of ethidium. The results in this study demonstrate that ethidium could preferentially interact with unusual DNA structures.
A novel 8 V DC power source with an external series-parallel connection of 50 Dye-sensitized Solar Cells (DSCs) has been proposed. One DSC has the optimized length to width ratio of $5.2{\times}2.6\;cm$ and an active area $8\;cm^2$ ($4.62{\times}1.73\;cm$) which attained a conversion efficiency of 4.02%. From the electrochemical impedance spectroscopic analysis, it was found that the resistance elements related to the Pt electrode and electrolyte interface behave like that of diode and the series resistance corresponds to the sum of the other resistance elements. Surface morphology and sheet resistance of Pt counter electrode did not degrade the performance of the cell. This novel 8V-0.33A DC power source shows stable performance with an energy conversion efficiency of 4.24% under 1 sun illumination (AM 1.5, Pin of $100\;mW/cm^2$).
