  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the reliability of lower limb joint angles computed with the software ImageJ during jumping movements. Background: Kinematics is the study of bodies in motion without regard to the forces or torques that may produce the motion. The most common method for collecting motion data uses an imaging and motion-caption system to record the 2D or 3D coordinates of markers attached to a moving object, followed by manual or automatic digitizing software. Above all, passive optical motion capture systems (e.g. Vicon system) have been regarded as the gold standards for collecting motion data. On the other hand, ImageJ is used widely for an image analysis as free software, and can collect the 2D coordinates of markers. Although much research has been carried out into the utilizations of the ImageJ software, little is known about their reliability. Method: Seven healthy female students participated as the subject in this study. Seventeen reflective markers were attached on the right and left lower limbs to measure two and three-dimensional joint angular motions. Jump performance was recorded by ten-vicon camera systems (250Hz) and one digital video camera (240Hz). The joint angles of the ankle and knee joints were calculated using 2D (ImageJ) and 3D (Vicon-MX) motion data, respectively. Results: Pearson's correlation coefficients between the two methods were calculated, and significance tests were conducted (${\alpha}=1%$). Correlation coefficients between the two were over 0.98. In Vicon-MX and ImageJ, there is no systematic error by examination of the validity using the Bland-Altman method, and all data are in the 95% limits of agreement. Conclusion: In this study, correlation coefficients are generally high, and the regression line is near the identical line. Therefore, it is considered that motion analysis using ImageJ is a useful tool for evaluation of human movements in various research areas. Application: This result can be utilized as a practical tool to analyze human performance in various fields.

  • Objectives: In this study, we aimed to develop a systematic tool that can evaluate the effects of interprofessional education (IPE) by applying four core competencies (values/ethics for interprofessional practice, roles/responsibilities, interprofessional communication, and teams and teamwork) and an educational evaluation model to evaluate the learning, behavior of learners, and results step by step. Methods: Previous studies on IPE evaluation tools were analyzed, and an evaluation tool (draft) was developed by modifying questions suitable for evaluation according to the Kirkpatrick model's stages and core competencies. The evaluation tool was completed by conducting a Delphi survey twice with 4-6 experts. To analyze the Delphi survey, the content validity index (CVI) was calculated, and the reliability coefficient (Cronbach's alpha coefficient) was used to measure reliability. Results: 29 questions on pre-education, consisting of learning and behavior stages, and 54 questions on post-education, consisting of reaction, learning, behavior, and results stages, were developed. The CVI and Cronbach's alpha coefficient values were >0.8 and >0.6, respectively. Conclusions: The IPE evaluation tool developed in this study is expected to contribute to the evaluation of the educational level of IPE and the identification of points for improvement when applied to various educational settings.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships between demographic variables and seven aspects of clothing behavior of adult males, and to attempt to develop the measurement of men's clothing behavior. Age was ranked by five gradation (20∼60 ages) and socio-economic status was divided into three categories (high, middle, low) based on the subjects' education, occupation and economic status. Six aspects of clothing comfort, satisfaction, status symbol, conformity, fashion interest and clothing acceptance I were assessed with Koh's, Chung's and Lee's questionnaires. Clothing acceptance by line-drawing of clothing syles representing different levels of formality for occasions designed to measure the awareness of appropriate clothing category of business suits. The questionnaires in this study were administered to a sample of men living in Seoul. The sample was drawn by the random-cluster sampling method. The data from 362 respondants were analysed. To determine the internal validity of clothing behavior mesurement, factor analysis was computed, whereas to determine the reliability, Cronbach's alpha was calculated. The statistical methods adopted were correlation, one-way ANOVA, and multiple regression. The results obtained in this study were as follows: 1) As for clothing behavior instruments, items dealing with status symbol and fashion nterest were proved to be satisfactory as a measurement of adult males. Eight factors emerged on clothing acceptance Ⅱ, most of which were representing unappropriate clothing choice for occasion. 2) Demographic variables were significantly related to the adult males' clothing behavior. (1) Age was positively related to clothing conformity but negatively to fashion interest. (2) Socio-economic status was positively related to clothing satisfaction, status symbol, and fashion interest but negatively to clothing confort. (3) When age was controlled, socio-economic status was negatively related to comfort in 40∼50s age group only, and negatively related to clothing conformity in 20∼30s age group only. (4) Four subscales of clothing acceptance Ⅱ representing unappro-priate clothing practice for selected occasions were negatively related to age and/or socio-economic status.

  • This study aims to establish the measures required for strengthening the internal stability of and executing the systematic plan for Gangwon-do in relation to the "urban regeneration preliminary project" launched by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport. The results of this study are as follows. The unit project carried out via the Gangwon-do urban regeneration preliminary project presented the tendency for the standardization of the H/W and S/W projects such as the establishment of the community anchor space and the resident competency reinforcement project. Further, rather than focusing on the contents that could objectively measure the effects of the project, it concentrated more on the performance indicators that are required for verifying the execution of unit projects like the establishment of buildings and operating programs. It was found to be insufficient with regard to the practicality of the project, the correlation with the New Deal Project, and the validity of the project contents. To improve these aspects, Gangwon-do would be required to highlight its distinguishability from the other regions and increase its practicality by operating the field-centered urban regeneration educational program, inducing the participation of experts in each of the areas in case there is a need to execute a project plan and discover a project with placeness. It also needs to focus on strengthening its connection with the urban regeneration new deal project by discovering the resident leaders and professional manpower, and establishing the performance indicators needed for systematically monitoring the regional changes in accordance to the urban regeneration preliminary project.

  • Objective: In this study, we examined the psychometric properties of the Korean Intergenerational Psychological Ambivalence Scale (KIPAS) for young adult children. Method: Data came from 1,140 Korean young adults aged 19-34, who were never married and had at least one living parent. We translated the individual-subjective dimension of Zygowicz's (2006) Intergenerational Ambivalence Scale from English to Korean. The individual-subjective dimension had eight items that directly measured intergenerational psychological ambivalence (D-KIPAS) and 10 items that indirectly measured intergenerational psychological ambivalence (I-KIPAS). Results: The D-KIPAS and I-KIPAS items showed good internal consistency both for the mother and the father. Confirmatory factor analysis showed that D-KIPAS items loaded on one factor after controlling for method effects, which allowed error variances among the four non-reversed items to covary. Both the positive and negative items of I-KIPAS had good reliability and loaded on the same factor. The mean score of D-KIPAS and the calculated score of I-KIPAS were significantly but moderately correlated, which indicates that the D-KIPAS and I-KIPAS assess correlated but distinct aspects of intergenerational ambivalence. Correlations among D-KIPAS, I-KIPAS, and the proxy variables of intergenerational solidarity and conflict supported the discriminant validity of the KIPAS. Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that both D-KIPAS and I-KIPAS are reliable and valid tools to measure intergenerational psychological ambivalence among Korean young adults.

  • In this study, we were developed an accuracy of the proposed two dimensional statical inclinometer what used a position sensitive detector(PSD) by an error analysis. The inclinometer consists of a laser source, a mass, an optic-fiber, and a PSD. The gravity direction on a base platform of the inclinometer is changed by an unknown inclination angle. And a laser spot is moved from the origin to another position of a PSD following a variation of an optical path by the gravity. These processes enable the inclinometer to estimate the inclination angle from distance information of the moving spot. A design methodology on the basis of a sensitivity analysis was applied to improve the measurement performance such as a full measuring range and a resolution. But it still has error factors, so we analyze the uncertainty of the inclinometer to evaluate the systematic errors from alignments, assembly error and so on. The experimental performance evaluation about the design objectives as a measuring range and a resolution was performed. And the validity and the feasibility of the design process were certified by an experimental process. Systematic errors eliminated to improve the accuracy of the inclinometer by the corrected measuring model from the calibration process between the inclination angle and the PSD position instead of the nominal measuring model. The ANOVA(analysis of variance) confirmed the effect of eliminating the systematic errors in the inclinometer. From these methodologies, the proposed inclinometer was able to measure with a high resolution(35.14sec) and a wide range(from $-15^{\circ}\;to\;15^{\circ}$

  • Our study measures the Digital Life Index (DLI) of baby boomers by considering the utilization of digital devices in their everyday life. The study was conducted by implementing the following three-step approach: (1) development of survey questions and data collection; (2) build Digital Life Index (DLI) model and lastly; (3) empirical analysis using the Digital Life Index (DLI). In the first stage in order to develop the survey questions to measure the digital index, two surveys were conducted. For the first preliminary survey, it was done based on the existing literatures which enabled this investigation through FGI analysis involving real professionals. The second survey was conducted by commissioning a specialized external firm. In this survey, a total of 400 data was collected to verify the validity and objectivity of the data sample. The data gathered through the survey questions was used to develop the digital index. Firstly, the appropriate factors were extracted by conducting factor analysis. This factor analysis validates and verifies the factors which are appropriate in measuring Digital Life Index (DLI). The derived factors are broadly divided into five main factors. The first factor describes the possession, purchase and use of digital device (x1). Meanwhile, the second factor describes the digital device's software (x2) and the third factor describes the participation in utilizing digital device (x3). The fourth factor describes the utilization of digital device in human personal relationship (x4) and lastly, the fifth factor describes the effect of digital device in everyday life and work environment (x5). Secondly, the digital index model was developed. The variables to represent the Digital Life Index (DLI) are ${\chi}1t,{\chi}2t,{\chi}3t,{\chi}4t$ and ${\chi}5t$. Furthermore, as experience in using the digital index grows overtime, the growth can be represented by the "S" shape. Based on the results, Digital Life Index(DLI) is distributed with the highest point at 90.3 and the lowest point at 25.9.
