In general, standard TCP/IP (transmission control protocol-internet protocol), which is called TCP/IP, is using as the communication basis protocol between any collections of networks that is connected. In this paper, using this TCP/IP implementation of remote control system and suitable program for long distance communication is proposed. This system can make system, which basic Ethernet and TCP/IP used system, to mini modeling, so all module that is using here can be used. Therefore, intention of this paper is to reduce expenses, to effective manage for plant and to increase of productivity as linking each plant of several factory to TCP/IP and Ethernet, and then many control plant and manager minimize the needed course.
Remote control and monitoring of information appliances require RTOS and TCP/IP network module to communicate each other. Traditional TCP/IP protocol stacks, however, require relatively large resources to be useful in small 8 or 16-bit systems both in terms of code size and memory usage. It motivates design and implementation of micro TCP/IP that is lightweight for embedded systems. Micro embedded web server is also required to control and monitor information appliances through the Web. In this paper, we design and implement micro TCP/IP and Web server for information appliances. For this goal, we investigate requirements for the interoperability of embedded systems with the Internet and the Web-based control of embedded systems. Next, we compare our micro TCP/IP protocol stack with that of RTIP and QPlus in terms of object code size and performance. The size of micro TCP/IP protocol stack can be reduced by 3/2 and 1/4, respectively, comparing with that of RTIP and QPlus. We also show that the performance of our micro TCP/IP is similar to that of RTIP and QPlus since it handles 2.9Mbps when delayed ACK is not adapted.

The IETF has recently been standardizing the QUIC protocol for HTTP/3 services. It is noted that HTTP/3 uses QUIC as the underlying protocol, whereas HTTP/1.1 and HTTP/2 are based on TCP. Differently from TCP, the QUIC uses 0-RTT or 1-RTT transmissions to reduce the connection establishment delays of TCP and SCTP. Moreover, to solve the head-of-line blocking problem, QUIC uses the multi-streaming feature. In addition, QUIC provides various features, including the connection migration, and it is available at the Chrome browser. In this paper, we analyze the performance of QUIC for HTTP-based web and streaming services by comparing with the existing TCP and Streaming Control Transmission Protocol (SCTP) in the network environments with different link delays and packet error rates. From the experimental results, we can see that QUIC provides better throughputs than TCP and SCTP, and the gaps of performances get larger, as the link delays and packet error rates increase.

TCP is the most widely-used transport layer protocol in current Internet, while ATM technology is used to increase the data communication speed at data link layer and network layer. In the TCP-over-ATM architecture, the most significant problems are (i) the partial packet discarding problem, and (ii) the TCP window timeout problem. Several approaches have been proposed to solve the partial packet discard problem and the timeout problem individually, but none of them considered the two problems together. In this paper, we propose an enhanced UBR+ scheme which supports fairness among the TCP connections using UBR+ scheme, and provides protection of damaged VC from the multiple packet losses in the same TCP sliding window. To analyze its performance, we simulate the proposed scheme using OPNET. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme supports fairness, and also increases the throughput by reducing the probability of multiple cell losses in the same TCP window.
The purpose of this animal study was to evaluate, by histological analysis, bone regeneration in rabbit maxillary sinuses with an anorganic bovine graft (Bio-Oss) and a ${\beta}-tricalcium$ phosphate (${\beta}-TCP$) grafting. Bilateral sinus augmentation procedures were performed in 12 adult male rabbits. Rectangular replaceable bony windows were made with a piezoelectric thin saw insert. In the Bio-Oss group, Bio-Oss was grafted and in the ${\beta}-TCP$ group, ${\beta}-TCP$ was grafted and covered by replaceable bony windows. The animals were sacrificed at 2, 4, and 8 weeks after the surgical procedure. The augmented sinuses were evaluated by histomorphometric analysis using hematoxylin-eosin, Masson trichrome, and tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase stains and also by immunohistochemical analysis of proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA), type I collagen, and osteocalcin content. Histologically, new bone formation was found on the surface of Bio-Oss and ${\beta}-TCP$ particles from 2 weeks and continued to 8 weeks. Significant higher new bone formation was revealed in the ${\beta}-TCP$ group than in the Bio-Oss group at 8 weeks. The amount of graft materials was significantly decreased in the ${\beta}-TCP$ group and the number of osteoclasts was significantly increased in the ${\beta}-TCP$ group from 4 to 8 weeks. Immunoreactivity to PCNA was reduced at 8 weeks. The expression of type I collagen was significantly increased in the ${\beta}-TCP$ group at 2 weeks, but was significantly increased in the Bio-Oss group at 8 weeks. Immunoreactivity to osteocalcin was increased from 2 to 8 weeks. These histological results can help in the selection of graft materials for implants. Both Bio-Oss and ${\beta}-TCP$ are proven graft materials, however, these results indicate that ${\beta}-TCP$ showed better bone regeneration results in rabbit maxillary sinus augmentation.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate newly fabricated tricalcium phosphate(TCP)/chitosan microgranuls as bone substitutes. TCP/chitosan microgranules were fabricated by dropping TCP-chitosan suspension into the NaOH/ethanol solution. The size of microgranules could be controllable via airflow rate. PDGF-BB was loaded into the fabricated granules via freeze-drying methods(300 ng/20 mg). To evaluate cell proliferation, cultured osteoblasts cell lines(MC3T3-El) was dropped on the BioOss(R), chitosan microgranules, TCP/chitosan microgranules and cultured for 1, 7 , 14, and 28 days. Scanning electron microscopic observation was done after 7 days of culture and light microscopic examination was done after 28 days of culture. PDGF-BB release from the microgranules was tested. Rabbit calvarial defects(8 mm in diameter) were formed and chitosan, TCP/chitosan, PDGF-TCP/chitosan microgranules, and BioGran(R) were grafted to test the ability of new bone formation. At SEM view, the size of prepared microgranules was 250-1000 um and TCP powders were observed at the surface of TCP/chitosan microgranules. TCP powders gave roughness to the granules and this might help the attachment of osteoblasts. The pores formed between microgranules might be able to allow new bone ingrowth and vascularization. There were no significant differences in cell number among BioOss(R) and two microgranules at 28 day. Light and scanning electron microscopic examination showed that seeded osteoblastic cells were well attached to TCP/chitosan microgranules and proliferated in a multi-layer. PDGF-BB released from TCP/chitosan microgranules was at therapeutic concentration for at least 1 week. In rabbit calvarial defect models, PDGF-TCP/chitosan microgranules grafted sites showed thicker bone trabeculae pattern and faster bone maturation than others. These results suggested that the TCP/chitosan microgranules showed the potential as bone substitutes.

TCP/IP protocols have been implemented in software program running on CPU in end systems. As the increased demand of fast protocol processing, it is required to implement the protocols in hardware, and Host Interface is responsible for communication between external CPU and the hardware blocks of TCP/IP implementation. The Host Interface follows AMBA AHB specification for the communication with external world. For control flow, the Host Interface behaves as a slave of AMBA AHB. Using internal Command/status Registers, the Host Interface receives commands from CPU and transfers hardware status and header information to CPU. On the other hand, the Host Interface behaves as a master for data flow. Data flow has two directions, Receive Flow and Transmit Flow. In Receive Flow, using internal RxFIFO, the Host Interface reads data from UDP FIFO or TCP buffer and transfers data to external RAM for CPU to read. For Transmit Flow, the Host Interface reads data from external RAM and transfers data to UDP buffer or TCP buffer through internal TxFIFO. TCP/IP hardware blocks generate packets using the data and transmit. Buffer Descriptor is one of the Command/Status Registers, and the information stored in Buffer Descriptor is used for external RAM access. Several testcases are designed to verify TCP/IP functions. The Host Interface is synthesized using the 0.18 micron technology, and it results in 173 K gates including the Command/status Registers and internal FIFOs.

Multiple wireless devices in wired and wireless heterogeneous networks communicate with counterparts via a single access point (AP). In this case, the AP becomes a bottleneck of the network, therefore buffer overflows occur frequently and result in TCP performance degradation. In this paper, a new algorithm that prevents buffer overflows at AP and enhances TCP fairness is proposed. Depending on the buffer usage of AP, the new algorithm adaptively controls each TCP senders' transmission rate, prevents buffer overflows and thus guarantees improved TCP fairness. It is proved that the algorithm makes better of TCP throughput and fairness by preventing buffer overflows.

Network coding improves TCP's performance in lossy wireless networks. However, the complex congestion window evolution of network coded TCP (TCP-NC) makes the analysis of end-to-end throughput challenging. This paper analyzes the evolutionary process of TCP-NC against lossy links. An analytic model is established by applying a two-dimensional Markov chain. With maximum window size, end-to-end erasure rate and redundancy parameter as input parameters, the analytic model can reflect window evolution and calculate end-to-end throughput of TCP-NC precisely. The key point of our model is that by the novel definition of the states of Markov chain, both the number of related states and the computation complexity are substantially reduced. Our work helps to understand the factors that affect TCP-NC's performance and lay the foundation of its optimization. Extensive simulations on NS2 show that the analytic model features fairly high accuracy.
TCP/IP processing imposes a heavy load on the host CPU when it is processed by the host CPU on a very high-speed network. Recently the TCP/IP Offload Engine (TOE), which processes TCP/IP on a network adapter instead of the host CPU, has become an attractive solution to reduce the load in the host CPU. There have been two approaches to implement TOE. One is the software TOE in which TCP/IP is processed by an embedded processor and the other is the hardware TOE in which TCP/IP is processed by a dedicated ASIC. The software TOE has poor performance and the hardware TOE is neither flexible nor expandable enough to add new features. In this paper we designed and implemented a hybrid TOE architecture, in which TCP/IP is processed by cooperation of hardware and software, based on an FPGA that has two embedded processor cores. The hybrid TOE can have high performance by processing time-critical operations such as making and processing data packets in hardware. The software based on the embedded Linux performs operations that are not time-critical such as connection establishment, flow control and congestions, thus the hybrid TOE can have enough flexibility and expandability. To improve the performance of the hybrid TOE, we developed a hardware-based transmission/reception accelerator that processes important operations such as creating data packets. In the experiments the hybrid TOE shows the minimum latency of about $19{\mu}s$. The CPU utilization of the hybrid TOE is below 6 % and the maximum bandwidth of the hybrid TOE is about 675 Mbps.
