  • Simulation study were performed for ventilation capability effect on the smoke spread in the deeply-underground subway station(DUSS). Singeumho station(The line # 5, Depth: 46m) was modeled and were analyzed for smoke-spread speed difference between the originally-designed-ventilation-capacity and the measured-ventilation-capacity. Field test data for actual fan in DUSS was applied as a boundary condition of a simulation. The whole station was covered in this analysis and total of 4 million grids were generated for this simulation. The fire-driven flow was analyzed case by case to compare the smoke-spread effects. In order to enhance the efficiency of calculation, parallel processing by MPI was employed and large eddy simulation method in FDS code was adopted.

  • Digital microfluidic electroporation system was used for the transformation of microalgae and we have obtained higher transformation efficiency and viability than that of conventional method. Key parameters of electroporation such as pulse voltage, number, and duration time were systematically investigated for two different microalgal strains with and without cell wall. We have found that cell wall does not always have negative effects on the gene transformation of microalgae. Parallel processing of proposed digital microfluidic electroporation was demonstrated together with on chip culture of microalgae.

  • Based on the given data if three experiments that measured word-by-word reading times of the Korean relative-clause sentences, parsing strategies and performance structures in comprehending Korean sentences were suggested.First, results of the significantily longer reading time of nouns than verbs suggested that Korean parsing processing would be primarily occurred at nouns.Seond, four parsing strategies were proposed to explain increased reading times, working memory loads, and parallel function effects.Third, performance structures of sentence comprehension were constructed from the interword reading time differences. The proposed strategies and structures seem to account for the patterns of word-by-word reading times of the five types of the Korean relative-clause se various ideas for further experimentation were discussed.

  • Lane Sensing techniques based on vision sensors are regarded promising because they require little infrastructure on the highway except clear lane markers. However, they require more intelligent processing algorithms in vehicles to generate the previewed roadway from the vision images. In this paper, a lane sensing algorithm using vision sensors is developed to improve the sensing robustness. The parallel stereo-camera is utilized to regenerate the 3-dimensional road geometry. The lane geometry models are derived such that their parameters represent the road curvature, lateral offset and heading angle, respectively. The parameters of the lane geometry models are estimated by the Kalman filter and utilized to reconstruct the lane geometry in the global coordinate. The inverse perspective mapping from the image plane to the global coordinate considers roll and pitch motions of a vehicle so that the mapping error is minimized during acceleration, braking or steering. The proposed sensing system has been built and implemented on a 1/10-scale model car.

  • The mismatched allocation of watermarking position due to parallel translation, rotation, and scaling distortion is a problem that requires an answer in watermarking. In this paper, we propose a watermarking method robust enough to hold against geometrical distorting using restoration pattern matching. The proposed method defines restoration pattern, then inserts the pattern to a watermark embedded image for distribution. Geometrical distortion is verified by comparing restoration pattern extracted from distributed image and the original restoration pattern inserted to the image. If geometrical distortion is found, inverse transformation is equally performed to synchronize the watermark insertion and extraction position. To evaluate the performance of the proposed method, experiments in translation, rotation, and scaling attack are performed.

  • Application of electrical stimulation in the red meat species (eg. beef and sheep) processing has been erratic around the world and this may reflect an incomplete knowledge of how to optimise the technology. Although it is well established that stimulation increases the rate of post-mortem glycolysis other biochemical and biophysical effects have been implicated with the use of this technology. On the basis of currently available knowledge, this mini-review seeks to examine the current theories about the effect of stimulation on post-mortem muscle. The classical view that stimulation prevents muscle from shortening excessively during rigor development has been expanded to include the possibility that it also results in physical disruption of muscle structure. The interaction of these effects with the acceleration of the rate of proteolysis through activation of the calpain protease system has not been comprehensively reviewed in the past. As a result of conclusion driven, this article highlights several areas that may prove fruitful for further research. The challenge for further development of electrical stimulation systems is optimisation of the activation of the enzyme systems in parallel with manipulation of chilling regimes so as to ensure rigor mortis is achieved at temperatures which minimise shortening. The potential of regional stimulation of sections of the carcass to achieve this outcome is worthy of study given the different fibre composition of muscles and temperature gradients.

  • In this paper, an optimization model for the clustered node allocation systems in the distributed computing environment is presented. In the presented model with a distributed file system framework, the dynamics of system behavior over times is carefully thought over the nodes and hence the functionality of the cluster monitor node to check the feasibility of the current set of clustered node allocation is given. The cluster monitor node of the node allocation system capable of distributing the parallel modules to clustered nodes provides a good allocation solution using Genetic Algorithms (GA). As a part of the experimental studies, the solution quality and computation time effects of varying GA experimental parameters, such as the encoding scheme, the genetic operators (crossover, mutations), the population size, and the number of node modules, and the comparative findings are presented.

  • A new test bench for small multi-rotor type drones has been developed. Six degrees of freedom (DOF) motion is possible due to a ball bushing, wheels, and rotating plates. An FPGA (field programmable gate array) based controller, that supports realtime parallel processing, is used to measure attitude with an accelerometer and a gyro to adjust motor speed. Several tests were performed to check the operational properties of the test bench and the controller. The results show that this test bench is proper for verifying controllers and the control methods of small multi-rotor drones.

  • As the number of websites managed by organizations or organizations increases, so does the number of web application servers and containers. In checking the status of the web service of the web application server and the container, it is very difficult for the person to check the status of the web service after accessing the physical server at the remote site through the terminal or using other accessible software It. Previous research on crawler-related research is hard to find any reference to the processing of data from crawling. Data loss occurs when the crawler accesses the database and stores the data. In this paper, we propose a method to store the inspection data according to crawl - based web application server management without losing data.

  • The Virtual Interface Architecture(VIA) is an industry standard for communication over system area networks(SANs). M-VIA is a software implementation of VIA technology on Linux. In this paper, we implemented the M-VIA on an AceNIC Gigabit Ethernet by developing a new AceNIC driver for the M-VIA. We analyzed the M-VIA data segmentation processes. When a Gigabit Ethernet MTU is larger than 1514 bytes, M-VIA data segmentation size leaves much room for improvement. So we experimented with various MTU and M-VIA data segmentation size and compared the performances.
