  • The integration of intelligent devices, devices-level networks, and software into motor control systems can deliver improved diagnostics, fast warnings for increased system reliability, design flexibility, and simplified wiring. Remote access to motor-control information also affords an opportunity for reduced exposure to hazardous voltage and improved personnel safety during startup and trouble-shooting. This paper presents LonWorks fieldbus networked intelligent induction control system architecture. Experimental bed system with two inverter motor driving system for controlling 1.5kW induction motor is configured for LonWorks networked intelligent motor control. In recent years, MCCs have evolved to include component technologies, such as variable-speed drives, solid-state starters, and electronic overload relays. Integration was accomplished through hardwiring to a programmable logic controller (PLC) or distributed control system (DCS). Devicelevel communication networks brought new possibilities for advanced monitoring, control and diagnostics. This LonWorks network offered the opportunity for greatly simplified wiring, eliminating the bundles of control interwiring and corresponding complex interwiring diagrams. An intelligent MCC connected in device level control network proves users with significant new information for preventing or minimizing downtime. This information includes warnings of abnormal operation, identification of trip causes, automated logging of events, and electronic documentation. In order to show the application of the multi-motors control system, the prototype control system is implemented. This paper is the first step to drive multi-motors with serial communication which can satisfy the real time operation using LonWorks network.

  • In this paper the usage of Bluetooth in networked control systems is described. ACL links and commonly used serial port profile built on top of ACL links are analyzed and their problems such as unpredictable latency are discovered. SCO link packet scheduling, latency estimation and setup procedure are examined. SCO link is suggested as proper link for NCS, due to its low latency and low variance. Smith predictor use for latency compensation is described and its impact on control performance is estimated. A number of experiments on DC motor position control are performed and control performance of system utilizing SCO link with and without Smith predictor is proved to be higher than control performance of system utilizing ACL link.

  • The main objective of this paper is to propose a new stability analysis method for a networked control system with multiple packet transmission. The new scheduling method that can guarantee the maximum time delay and discrete switch state equation model which represent a network data loss is proposed. The equivalent model of a MIMO(multi-input multi-output) networked control system is derived from a state space model of linear time invariant interconnected systems in the form of asynchronous dynamical system. Using this model, this paper presents new stability theorems that can determine stability of the networked control system with regard to time delay, data loss, and the number of transmission packets. Simulation results verify the effectiveness of proposed stability analysis method.

  • This paper deals with the stability analysis method of a networked control system using the discrete-time MJLS(Markov Jump Linear System). The necessary and sufficient conditions for the mean stability and mean square stability of a networked control system having data uncertainties are proposed. The numerical example is presented to illustrate the usefulness of proposed stability conditions.

  • Age of Information (AoI) has been introduced in wireless networked control systems (WNCSs) to guarantee timely status updates. In addition, as the edge computing (EC) architecture has been deployed in NCS, EC close to sensors can be exploited to collect status updates from sensors and provide control decisions to actuators. However, when lots of sensors simultaneously deliver status updates, EC can be overloaded, which cannot satisfy the AoI requirement. To mitigate this problem, this paper uses actuators with computing capability that can directly receive the status updates from sensors and determine the control decision without the help of EC. To analyze the AoI of the actuation update via EC or directly using actuators, this paper developed an analytic model based on timing diagrams. Extensive simulation results are included to verify the analytic model and to show the AoI with various settings.

  • Delay and noise in networked control systems are inevitable and can degrade system performance or stability This paper propose a compensation method for networked control systems with network-induced delay and noise using LMI(linear matrix inequality)-based H_\infty optimization. The H_\infty optimization methods have adapted to account for both the time delay and noise effects. Some simulations applied to inverted pendulum with networked control show that the proposed method works well.

  • This paper addresses the CAN based networked intelligent multi-motor control system using DSP2812 microprocessor. CAN built in DSP2812 microprocessor is used to control and monitor the multi-motor system with the inverter driving system. CAN network implementation schemes and the algorithm for multi-motor control and monitoring is also developed. We configure the multi-motor control experimental system to verify the proposed algorithm and the reliability of CAN networks system in the various operation of two induction motors. The experimental results show that CAN based networked intelligent multi-motor control system using DSP2812 microprocessor can carry out the real-time network based control in various speed range and the position control of induction motors.

  • This paper is concerned with the stabilization problem of nonlinear networked control systems with time-delay via Takagi-Sugeno(T-S) fuzzy control approach. The T-S fuzzy models are employed to represent nonlinear systems with Markovian jump parameters and time-delay. The purpose of this paper is to design a fuzzy controller such that the closed-loop Markovian jump fuzzy system is stochastically stable. Based on a stocastic Lyapunov function, stabilization sufficient conditions using a mode-independent fuzzy controller are derived for the Markovian jump fuzzy system in terms of Linear Matrix Inequalities(LMIs). Finally, a simulation example is presented to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

  • This paper focuses on the stability analysis and stabilization for networked control system with neutral type of time-delay. By utilizing the delay partitioning idea, new stability criteria are proposed in terms of linear matrix inequalities(LMIs). These conditions are developed based on the Lyapunov-Krasovskii functionals. Based on the derived criteria, a sufficient condition for te solvability of this problem is obtained in terms of linear matrix inequality without decomposing the original system matrices. Also, it is shown that the proposed controller design method is general for networked control systems. Finally, illustrative examples are presented to show the applicability of the proposed method.
