The purpose of this study is to assess the urban amenity on physical environmental factors, and to verify the effectiveness of the amenity map using correlation analysis of the environmental quality. The physical environmental factors were set to 4 items of green space, landscape, water environment and land use, and the items were composed of 11 detail factors. Based on the factors, GIS maps were constructed and the amenity map was produced using overlay analysis. The results of this study are as follow; the proportion of 1~2 ranks was 40.8% of total area around Dalseong-gun, Dong-gu, Suseong-gu. The lower 6~7 ranks in the amenity assessment was 5.7% of total area around Jung-gu, Seo-gu, Dalseo-gu. According to the results of correlation analysis between the amenity and environmental observed data, $SO_2$ among the air pollution material had a negative correlation with amenity(r=-0.649, p<0.05). In case of water pollution, TN and TP had the negative correlations with amenity (r=-0.643, P<0.01; r=0.642, p<0.01).

This paper describes a experimental study determining the effects of the type and loudness of introducing sounds on the amenity and the masking degree of background noise. 132 relative test sounds with 11 types of introducing sounds and 3 steps of road traffic noise were presented to 29 subjects through headphone in the laboratory experiment. Seven scale of polar adjective such as 'Strong Weak', 'Pleasant Unpleasant', 'Clear Unclear', 'Suitable Unsuitable', 'Comfortable-Discomfortable' was employed for the evaluation of amenity. And Seven scale of mono polar adjective such as 'Very-Not at all' was employed for the evaluation of masking degree against road traffic noise. The results are as follows; Green music was evaluated the highest amenity among test sounds and murmurs of a stream, signal music, song of a bird, crying of insect was showed the amenity rank of order. The softer and weaker introducing sound was evaluated more suitable and comfortable under the road traffic noise. So adequate level of introducing sounds was considered for the desirable urban soundscape. Also the louder sounds compared to background noises had greater masking effects. But similar levels of introducing sounds were recommended considering both good amenity and masking effects.

Due to the dramatic industrialization in Korea, rural area has been degraded with incurable problems including community aging, emptying and liabilities overburdens. Rural amenity, the intangible resources that the rural area itself has, is regarded as a breakthrough that can revitalize the rural communities. In fact, the rural area and communities have lots of amenity resources that have been overlooked. Rural area has kept traditions and open green spaces which are highlighted in these days since the life quality has been upgraded and working days in a week was cut off to 5 days. Institute of Rural Resources Development realized the importance of rural amenities and offered the nation wide survey project for rural amenity resources. In this article, the survey project that was implemented by the Korean Society of Rural Planning was narrated in terms of methodologies and procedures. Also the results and the problems were addressed.

21st century has begun as an age of green growth. Development paradigms disregarding environmental sustainability are being changed and henceforth, stronger efforts should be made to discover and utilize green values. With the importance of green values, rural amenity which is in the spotlight as a new channel to change the way people think about depressed agriculture and rural community could be the key to discover green values of rural area. This study is to emphasize rural amenity and to rectify prejudiced and distorted contents of agriculture and rural community in agricultural highschool textbooks. By doing this, students of agricultural highschool who will lead agriculture in the future will come to recognize the importance of agriculture and rural area and discovering it's values. This study was done through analysis and development of contents in 39 kinds of textbooks of Agricultural highschool. A content analysis was employed to examine to what extent the contents on agriculture and rural community were reflected in the textbooks of agriculture highschool. And 262 new education contents formulating positive and exact rural amenity concept were developed and 62 of them were included in textbooks.

The assessment of an urban site depends on the way whether it responds to multiple needs such as functionality, aesthetic and complex comfort of acoustic, thermal, lighting and air quality etc. This study aims to investigate the assessment of various urban soundscapes in the sense of acoustic amenity by the questionnaires. As a result, acoustic amenity assessment was influenced by the non-acoustic factors such as environment assessment of visual, thermal, air quality etc. In the sense of sound quality, urban environmental sound was interpreted as 3 factors of strength, evolution of time, spacial localization. So these factors would be considered in the new assessment method for acoustic amenity. And it was shown that the subjects tend to perceive the noise level less than $3{\sim}5dB\;L_{eqA}$ according to the urban landscapes under the similar noise exposure level.

This study is basically to investigate the possibility of revitalizing the fishing village economy by targeting on trip type, propensity, and awareness of visitors who visited Gogunsan in JeonBuk by applying Blue Amenity. As the result of survey, it showed that visitors in Gosunsan islands generally were satisfied with trip, and they had considerably higher intention of revisit. However, it showed that the improvement and publicity of various travel services including resources and facilities were demanded. In particular, it should pay attention to requirements depending on age and selection of main visitors with reference to revisit, and as the result, the factors having the most important influence on are traffic, and natural scenery, so it is considered that these factors must be maintained to increase the rate of revisit with full of concentration. Besides, it is confirmed that Visitors are unfamiliar with Blue Amenity applying fishing village's own historical cultural resources with reference to preferring islands trip, and they were much concerned about the establishment of tentatively named "regional(urban - fishing village) center" to revitalize the fishing village economy. Moreover it could grasp the tourist industry operated jointly by fishing villages, the pride of town to characterize, advantage in promoting the tourist industry as compared with other regions, and difficulties or recommendations in promoting the tourist industry. And comprehensive investigation of Blue Amenity resources in this region and the measures of improving life environment must be performed in future.

This Study tried to approach with a new Point of view about Green Design that had been studied on just Aesthetics and Function and it focused on creating a pleasant environment In the Interiors combing with Horticultural therapy as advanced study in Green Design. This study is barred on understanding that nature, human and space should continue to coexist through realizing relationship between nature and human and overcoming denaturalization and dehumanization and have an opportunity to know what a pleasant space for human is. Although pleasant space can be made by many different methods, this study start from the thought that a space with plants is the best to satisfy human's basic emotion. The method of study is through research and analysis with many kinds of references and examples, and then the results were used to make design guide which introduces Green Amenity Space in residential space. The pleasant space that human pursuits should be the human-centered space as well as the space giving them mental and physical satisfaction beyond space with just function and beauty. Therefore Green Amenity Space is the best space with which human is familiar.

Effective information "query and retrieval" process is one of the fundamental problems in the field communication and information science and has become especially important due to dramatic increase in magnitude of information to be processed in modern era. Of particular importance at information exchange process, our study focuses on compositions of proper queries and retrieval of rural amenity resources. This particular task has been difficult because the rural amenity resources does not necessarily carry measurable traits and also contains huge amount of data. In this Letter, we propose an alternative approach to the architecture of the resource information system by use of a noble retrieval algorithm based on ontology. Test of efficiency and applicability of this new scheme was conducted, and it showed that this has possibility to be effective information retrieval process of rural amenity resources.

Classification results of rural villages provide useful information about rural village characteristics to select similar villages in rural development project; many researches about regional classification have been practiced. Recently rural amenity was introduced as an alternative for rural development, and rural villages have been surveyed to find potential resources for rural development by 'Rural Amenity Resources Survey Project'. Accumulated information through this survey project could be used to classify rural villages. However existing rural classification method using statistical data is not efficient method to use rural amenity resources information described with text. We introduced Information Bottleneck Method (IBM) based on information theory and implemented this method to classification with rural amenity resources information of Yanggang-myen, Yeongdong-gun in Chungbuk province.

The purpose of this study is to suggest an Amenity Meaning of the residential Environment reflected on the Residents. It focuses on the Environmental Quality through interviews and surveys of Multi-Family Housing Estates. The demand of Amenity as Environmental Quality of the Residential Environment will increase significantly in a short period of time. The Amenity Meaning fuses psychological and material elements, Also, these relate synthetic Environmental Qualities with Naturally Friendly Housing Estates. Thus, this paper may be used primarily by researchers, housing developers who may wish to incorporate the environmental quality of housing development.
