  • Nowadays Internet is the greatest and most participating media of prompting expression with 37 million users in Korea. Internet enables collective communications between social members and contributes to form sound public opinions and to develop democracy while it has negative aspect to distribute massively crime by illegal posting which is forbidden by the Criminal Act. Criminal actors who involve to diffuse information on Internet consist of three categories of information provider, user and internet service provider. Illegal posting generated on Internet is originated from IP and the criminal regulation on it is useless and meaningless because of its countless of users and ambiguous boundary with liberty for expression. Accordingly, the only criminal policy means to prevent danger by illegal posting on Internet is to regulate ISP which saves illegal posting and mediates contacts among users. In spite of it, legislation to regulate ISP is unprepared. The prudent legislative review should be done. And it should be accordance with the doctrines of propriety and vagueness of the principle of "nulla poena sine lege".

  • This study focused on similarities between modern philosophical Nomadism and the thoughts of Korean people as well as analyzed the correlation between modern Nomad fashion and Korean traditional costumes. This study aims are as follows. First, to establish aesthetic characteristics by examining modern Nomadism and Korean thoughts. Second, draw the principles of design expressions of modern Nomad fashion and Korean traditional costumes. Third, analyze correlations between them. The method of this study was a literature review and an analysis of related photos. The study results are as follows. First, Nomadic aesthetics are characterized by the formation of complex diversity with the variability of fusion and separation through liquidity in an ambiguous boundary; in addition, various possibilities and harmony are the characteristics of Korean aesthetics, held by a holistic thought based on the vision of the universe of Qi (氣). Second, Nomad fashion appeared as variable designs through repetition and the overlapping of forms, and irregular designs were noticed through repetition and the overlapping of circles, quadrangles, and angles in Korean traditional costumes. Third, similarities in the creation of liquidity, variability, and de-territoriality based on modules can be found; in addition, common principles can also be drawn from the appearing design expressions.

  • This study analyzes the visage in fashion illustration based on the deconstructed visage of Francis Bacon's paintings as well as analyzes fashion illustration works since 2000. The deconstructed visages in Francis Bacon's paintings are classified as blurring, elimination, distortion and division. The expressive methods and meanings in fashion illustration (according to categorization) are as follow. Blurring shows an ambiguous visage organ by the sweeping of the brush, removal of a boundary among the visage, body and clothes, gradation of organic line like visage shapes, stretching of the a plat combined to visage and fragmentation of visage. It represents an uncertainty of the fashion theme and image interpretation, impossibility of figure by ambiguity, fantastic effect and the induction of the uncanny. Elimination shows the background color's painting of a photo-montage, overlap of a cutting of visage's part and background of a plat, elimination of the visage and the elimination of eyes, nose or lips. It represents a weakened identity, the reinforcement of anonymity, creation of a violent image, and uncanny unfamiliarity. Distortion shows a distorted visage by free drawing, and unconscious drawing line, fluid digital body, combination of an unconscious curve, and an eccentric combination of the accidental. It represents the relief of specialty about realistic existence, hypothetical immateriality and fantasy. Division shows overlapped visages with different angles, the weird combination of a plural visage and different species and a plural breakaway of direction, and the position of several organs. It represents motion by power's trace, non-territory of species, ambiguity and uncertainty and the uncanny.

  • Current environment in civil and construction industry has changed to actively adopt construction management (CM) in various areas. While it is found that exemplary CM projects have been carried out in many civil engineering sectors, concrete system framework has not been suggested due to ambiguous boundary between CM and supervision system, unclear perception of CM's role, and inexperienced organization and regime. This paper investigated the challenges faced in civil and construction industry, and analyzed the strategy that could improve the current immature CM system by conducting questionnaire survey from experts in various construction sectors. The results could provide valuable information that can involve diverse opinions and view points in project participants.

  • The main purpose of this paper is to review the research on the border region, especially herein to consider theoretical models critically and then to gain the implication for appropriate analytical framework or rather theoretical model on the basis of the findings. Through the review of various literature, major finding are as follows. First, the term of border or frontier was used in a rather ambiguous way. Second, the early models in the border region research have been developed to explain barrier effects, of which the border was considered to playa role. However, as border regions change from the closed regions to the opened ones, more adequate models have accordingly been developed. Third, there were several attempts to typify border regions and they tend to focus on the issue of regional development of the regions. Fourth, according to the case studies of the border region research, many border regions are not in isolation or peripheral position any more. Rather they are transformed into potentially prosperous regions through the support of authority as well as inter-regional cooperation.

  • Minkowski sum of two polyedra is an operation to compute the sum of all pairs of points contained in the polyhedra. It has been a very useful tool to solve many geometric problems arising in the areas of robotics, NC machining, solid modeling, and so on. However, very few algorithms have been proposed to compute Minkowski sum of polyhedra, because computing Minkowski sum boundaries is susceptible to roundoff errors. We propose an algorithm to robustly compute the Minkowski sum boundaries by employing the controlled linear perturbation scheme to prevent numerically ambiguous and degenerate cases from occurring. According to our experiments, our algorithm computes the Minkowski sum boundaries with the precision of $10^{-14}$ by perturbing the vertices of the input polyhedra up to $10^{-10}$.

  • The range data acquired by 2D/3D LIDAR, a core sensor for autonomous navigation of an unmanned ground vehicle, is effectively used for ground modeling and obstacle detection. Within the ambiguous boundary of a road environment, however, LIDAR does not provide enough information to analyze the traversable region. This paper presents a new method to analyze a candidate area using the characteristics of LIDAR reflectivity for better detection of a traversable region. We detected a candidate traversable area through the front zone of the vehicle using the learning process of LIDAR reflectivity, after calibration of the reflectivity of each channel. We validated the proposed method of a candidate traversable region detection by performing experiments in the real operating environment of the unmanned ground vehicle.

  • In this paper, the conventional k-modes and fuzzy k-modes algorithms for clustering categorical data is extended by representing the clusters of categorical data with fuzzy centroids instead of the hard-type centroids used in the original algorithm. The hard-type centroids of the traditional algorithms had difficulties in dealing with ambiguous boundary data, which might be misclassified and lead to thelocal optima. Use of fuzzy centroids makes it possible to fully exploit the power of fuzzy sets in representing the uncertainty in the classification of categorical data. The distance measure between data and fuzzy centroids is more precise and effective than those of the k-modes and fuzzy k-modes. To test the proposed approach, the proposed algorithm and two conventional algorithms were used to cluster three categorical data sets. The proposed method was found to give markedly better clustering results.

  • Since the accomplishment of industrialization and mechanization, human and the nature have gone farther their own way. Human depending on technology have been increasingly expanding and developing their artificial space and as times go by in such a way, estrangement between the human and nature has resulted in dissatisfaction of human's instinctual desire and devastation of human's living. People, to deal with such challenge, begins taking a look at the nature. In introducing the nature into the modern architecture, a physical natural element is often directly taken into or the shape that could be inferred from the nature is taken. The study was intended to identify the characteristics of the pattern introducing the nature into the modern architecture, as mentioned in the former case, which is summarized as follows, Introduction of the nature contains a variety of functions in the space and it creates the new space by integrating the internal and external space which becomes boundaryless integrated space. The boundary in the building tends to be getting more ambiguous, while the space accommodating the nature serves the interface, playing a role of intermediator for both the internal and external space. It functions the open public place that helps build the natural community among the users but taking the nature into the inner space, and it is used to attempt to change the interior of the building or for ventilation lighting or energy-saving purpose. The spatial meaning was found to have varied depending on pattern of the nature introduced. Such conclusions mentioned hereon is expected to help forecast and understand the forthcoming space accommodating the nature when reviewing the pattern of introducing the nature appeared In modern architecture.

  • The classification of the background and cell areas is very important research area because of the ambiguous boundary. In this paper, the region of cell is extracted from an image of uterine cervical cytodiagnosis using the region growing method that increases the region of interest based on similarity between pixels. Segmented image from background and cell areas is binarized using a threshold value. And then 8-directional tracking algorithm for contour lines is applied to extract the cell area. First, the extracted nucleus is transformed to RGB color that is the original image. Second, the K-means clustering algorithm is employed to classify RGB pixels to the R, G, and B channels, respectively. Third, the Hue information of nucleus is extracted from the HSI models that is the transformation of the clustering values in R, G, and B channels. The backpropagation algorithm is employed to classify and identify the normal or abnormal nucleus.
