A Servicism Model of the New Technology Industry Enterprise System (서비스주의 기술 산업 기업 연구)

  • This study was conducted for technology development and industrial and enterprise system design for the sustainable life of mankind. Human society is facing a crisis. As the power of mankind has increased due to the development of nuclear weapons and information and communication technologies, the risk of human society has greatly increased. The value of growth and freedom is increasing due to capitalism and democratic systems, so technological innovation is accelerating, and industries and companies are growing significantly. New technologies and industries can greatly develop human society and put it at risk. This study was conducted with the aim of redesigning technology, industry, and enterprise systems so that humans who live on Earth can be more sustainable for a longer time. It presented a practical alternative for a long-term sustainable human society. It suggested alternatives for what philosophy and methodology should be developed for the whole of humanity and in each individual national society, for developing technologies, fostering industries, and operating corporate systems. First of all, the problems of the technology development system, industrial system, and enterprise system of human society were analyzed. The characteristics and problems were analyzed in terms of sustainability of human society. The necessary and sufficient conditions for an alternative system to solve the raised problems were derived. A system that satisfies these conditions was designed and presented. The alternative system was named as a servicism system as a system based on the service philosophy. The structure, operation model, and implementation plan of the new technology industry enterprise system were presented. In the future, follow-up studies are needed to be concreted at the level of individual countries and human society as a whole.

  • We studied franchisees’ answers to the questionnaires to know their selective motives and criteria, their types and the reliability of a franchisor in the food-service industry. Then we showed the basic data about the selective criteria of a sound franchisor. The result of this study was as follows. First, we need a specialist and a department to present a financially sound franchisor. Second, we must determine the criteria of franchise fee, royalty and the other items on payment for the franchisor. Third, the alternative plan to trust the franchisor was needed for a large-scale franchisee.

For years, Internet users have been dream of intelligent software agents that automatically prowl the online world and bring back high-quality information. In the era of web2.0, Internet users can communicate each other on open platforms(e-mail, Naver Knowledge-In. Cyworld, Wikipedia, and blog etc.). The author investigate the impact of web2.0 user's perceived value. affective commitment. brand equity on loyalty intention. The results suggest that excellent service quality will be alternative solving in web2.0 business environment.

  • Quality of Service(QoS) is the collective effect of service performances and has a direct impact on customer satisfaction. Although QoS is subjective, network performance parameters contributing to QoS can be measured physically. Therefore overall customer satisfaction for each test condition of the performance parameters is evaluated by asking respondents to indicate his or her opinion on a five-category rating scale i.e., excellent, good, fair, poor, and unsatisfactory. The opinion data resulting from the test can then be used to measure and analyze QoS from the customers' viewpoints. In this papaer, we consider two methods for analyzing the opinion data: MOS method and Cumulative Probability Curve method. The former evaluates an arithmetic mean of the opinion scores which quantify the surveyed opinions of respondents. The latter uses graphical and analytical models which are based on the distribution of the opinions rather than an arithmetic mean. The advantages, disadvantages, and an alternative of each method are discussed, together with future directions of research.

  • As Korea has just turned into an aging society with the increase of average life expectancy, and the main causes of deaths is cancer and other chronic diseases. And this corresponds to a dramatic increase in medical expenses for the aged. To curve this problem, the hospice care can be an effective alternative, which can provide patients with both quality service and intensive care to help ensure high quality life for the patients. To demonstrate the economical effect of hospice services, a comparative study on the media expenses of geriatric hospitals and general hospitals, which bear similarities in common regarding the characteristics of their patients, is performed. Thus the results of the study can serve as a quantitative indication for the management of hospice services.

  • Perhaps, one of the typical emerging markets drawing tremendous attention from not only business professionals but also policy-makers would be the mobile Internet services. In recent years many research institutes reported their predictions on the growth of the mobile Internet services market, announcing that the market would show explosive growth and replace the wired Internet service market rapidly. Unfortunately, however, the reality we are facing at present is quite different from their expectations. The realized share of the mobile services in Korea last year has turned out remaining only about one percent of the total network service revenue. What are the reasons for the gap between the prospects and the reality? Starting from this question, this paper attempts to explore the generic pitfalls of the traditional number-crunching methods adopted thus far for the forecast of newly emerging market trends, and present an alternative by introducing systems thinking to the mobile Internet service market as an example, followed by its rationale as a new tool for forecasting and some reasoning about why traditional methods are no longer appropriate.

  • 본 연구는 2008년에 도입된 사회복무제도가 정착 될 수 있도록 하기 위한 개선방안을 모색하고자 한다. 즉, 단순한 인력공급 차원이 아닌, 사회복무요원들의 질 향상을 위한 교육과 사회복지기관에서 사회복무요원에 대한 올바른 활용이 전제되어야 한다. 이에 사회복지기관 담당자(사회복지사) 304명을 대상으로 사회복무제도와 사회복무요원에 대한 인식과 태도가 어떠한지 조사한 결과, 사회복무제도에 대해 긍정적인 태도를 보였고, 제도가 지속적인 운영과 확대가 되길 희망하였다. 또한 사회복지사업에 사회복무요원의 역할과 활동에 긍정적으로 인식하였다. 그리고 사회복무제도의 성공적인 정착을 위해 사회복무요원의 배치전 사전교육과 직무교육 시간 증가와 관리운영에 관한 권한 강화, 운영비 지원을 필요로 하였다. 따라서 사회복무제도 운영 개선과 사회복무교육센터를 통한 교육내용의 강화, 우수 복무기관에 대한 다양한 인센티브 부여가 요구된다.

A Framework for Supporting Virtual Engineering Services Using Ubiquitous and Context-Aware Computing (가상공학 서비스를 위한 유비쿼터스 및 상황인식 컴퓨팅 프레임워크)

  • Context-aware engineering services in ubiquitous environments are emerging as a viable alternative to traditional engineering services. Most of the previous approaches are computer-centered rather than human-centered. In this paper, we present a Ubiquitous and Context-Aware computing Framework for collaborative virtual Engineering $(U-CAF\acute{E})$ services. The proposed approach utilizes BPEL-based (Business Process Execution Language) process templates for engineering service orchestration and choreography and adopts semantic web-based context-awareness for providing human-centered engineering services. The paper discusses how to utilize engineering contexts and share this knowledge in support of collaborative virtual engineering services and service interfaces. The paper also discusses how Web services and JINI (Java Intelligent Network Infrastructure) services are utilized to support engineering service federations and seamless Interactions among persons, devices, and various kinds of engineering services.

Cost analysis on renewable warranty policies subject to imperfect strategies using inter-failure intervals

  • In this paper, cost analysis is conducted using inter-failure interval under renewable warranty subject to imperfect repair for multi-component system. One way to model the imperfect repair is to use the quasi-renewal process (Wang and Pham 1996). Two alternative quasi-renewal processes were suggested by Park and Pham (2010) using quasi-renewal process; first is an altered quasi-renewal process with random variable parameter and second is a mixed quasi-renewal process considering replacement service and repair service, simultaneously. In this study, we use the altered and mixed quasi-renewal processes and develop the warranty cost model to obtain the expected value of warranty cost and to help company make important decisions regarding the warranty policy. Numerical examples are used to demonstrate the applicability of the methodology derived in the paper.

  • With a remarkable and rapid change of universities in Korea, the role of universities has been changed from a traditional education supplier to a demander. Both the remarkable decrease of the number of entering students and the advent of an open education market are enforcing the universities to be changed. Universities should provide a variety of educational services in accordance with the students' needs. This study is based on the systematical Kuh's model which the educational service quality provide a decision making of alternative plan. This research is purposed to empirically study the effects of educational service quality(circumstance index, input index, participate index, output index) provided by universities on student satisfaction and educational performance(Perceived usefulness, Education Achievement). The results of this research follows; first, circumstance index, input index and output index significantly effect student satisfaction, but participate index does not effect satisfaction. Second, student satisfaction significantly effects on the educational performance.
