Altar architecture is a kind of sacrificial building, mainly formed in altar. Central architecture of Altar architecture is relatively simple. However, various attached building are necessary for worship. Among them, Sinsil which is a place to seal a God's tablet, is very important. The central government of the Joseon Dynasty attempted to define the local sacrificial system and make it customary as a way to strengthen the centralization based on Confucianism. Nonetheless, the altar architecture of the province without detailed regulations, were managed and underwent repairs according to the political situation of the state and local circumstances. Sinsil, which is an important component of the altar architecture, best reflects this situation. Therefore, it was possible to grasp the situation of the altar architecture of the province in the Joseon Dynasty by analyzing the Sinsil through various documents. As a result of analysis, it was divided into six types. In addition, It is also found that there are temporal relation between these six types.

The purpose of this study was to determine changes in neighborhoods due to the development of residential districts around Jangchungdan(?忠壇) altar in Seoul from the 1920s to the 1930s. In the Joseon Dynasty, this area was a protected and sacred area to honor the spirit. The reputation of the area, however, turned into the place to play and take a rest and neighborhoods around Jangchungdan altar were developed as high-grade residential districts with the impression of suburbs during the Japanese colonial period. Residential districts were formed with the destruction of the Hanyang City Wall and the privatization of nation-owned forest, which were physical and symbolic boundaries of Seoul in the Joseon Dynasty.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the structural safety of cultural altar since its bearing capacity has been questioned due to weathering damages and sectional defections. This evaluation process consists two stages; which the first is field investigation and the second is structural modeling and analysis. Based on field investigation, all of the structural members supporting the altar were carefully examined and all the findings were accounted for the development of the structural modeling using the Midas computer program. Using a 3D scanner, the weight of the Buddha statue was applied to the structural modeling. Then, according to the allowable stress design method of KBC2016, the structural safety was evaluated. Based on this result, replacements of several structural members were recommended to increase the structural safety and value of cultural property.
Sajik, the altar of land and grain was treated as one of the most important national ritual facilities by the Joseon dynasty and the Ming dynasty because it symbolized the legitimacy of a dynasty, and its architectural ordonnance was arranged strictly by the government. But when the Joseon government considered to reconstruct its national Sajik altar in Hanyang during the Sejong period, they found the new architectural ordonnance for local Sajik altars recorded in "Hongwulizhi(洪武禮制)" had been published by the Ming government was hard to adopt, because it was too narrow and totally different from the traditional style. Above all things, they doubt of there was other architectural ordonnance for kingdoms, not for local governments. King Sejong ordered to investigate the origin form and former examples, and tried to get other ritual documents of authority published by the Ming government such as "Damingjili(大明集禮)". After several academic researches and intense debates, they decided to create a new architectural ordonnance for their national Sajik altar, its form was in accord with the traditional style and its size was in accord with the new ordonnance. But they did not know there had already been the architectural ordonnance for the kingdom in the Ming dynasty. Because the first emperor of the Ming dynasty had changed its Sajik ritual system several times, even the whole country of the Ming dynasty also had gone through chaos on this issue even after his death. Consequentially, the official documentation works had been made partially, there was no a complete document on this issue even in the Ming government.
In the 7th century, Sachunwang-sa temple had two extra building-sites behind the Main hall. These two building-sites were found to be in peculiar form different from any another existing stone bases. The stone bases of northern put of these building-sites were decorated to molding as the protruding comers of eaves, which was pierced into a circular hole, and was carved into a form of Gomeck-ii(the stone bases lot supporting the wall). The northern building of sachunwang-sa temple was found to be used as the altar following munduru(文豆婁) method, through the observations of the archives of Samkukyusa(三國遺事) and the Abhiseka stura(skt. 灌頂經). The molding as the protruding cornets of eaves of stone bases was shaped as the roof of a building and the carving of Gomeck-ii gives a proof of the existence of the wall between columns in the altar. The hole of the stone bases protected the wooden cylinder of munduru from the exterior world. The author concludes, through this research, that the altar of Schunwang-sa temple was used lot the religious service during the war for worthship and protecting from the enemies. Also he concludes that these buildings must have been in wooden pagodas constructed upon a square plan, that is with both front and side width equal, haying a quite small scaled and low floored building with its first floor closed on all sides, being different item the usual form.
This study was carried out with a focus on the factor on the periodical space organization of Daebodan (大報壇: the altar of great recompense) in Changdeok Palace, which is significant in terms of political history in the late Chosun Dynasty, and consider the factors in the formation of the structural system through historical records and drawings. Daebodan has the ideology of righteousness to the Ming Dynasty which the hierarchy of the Joseon Dynasty. who felt the crisis of the domination order, imposed as a solution after the Manchu war of 1636. In addition, Daebodan was built by complex factors that entailed the self-esteem of the 'Joseon Centralism Ideology (朝鮮中華)' and the desire of the sacrificial rituals for Heaven that were imminent to the kings of Joseon. Superficially, Daebodan has the spatial organization of the Sajik (社稷) Altar and the placement of an annex building, but had the applied placement due to limited topography and access to the backyard. Furthermore, the lateral structure of Daebodan multiply accepted various factors of the nine step's stairs, the hight of five cheok (尺), the circumstance of two floors that were showed in the altar and platform with small fences and an imperial order including the internal form of Hwangjangbang (黃帳房). Moreover, the name of the alter came from 'the Jiaote Sheng Book of Rites(禮記 郊特牲)' representing 'the suburban sacrifice ritual for Heaven (郊天)', and it was built by not only combining the system of the Sajik Altar in the Joseon Dynasty and China but also avoiding 'excessive etiquette (僭禮).' The point is a remarkable feature shown by the structural system of Daebodan. Thus, it is considered that the 'Notion of Confucian-Cultural Succession (中華繼承意識)' and the desire of the sacrificial rituals for Heaven were expressed by the structure and form of altar. This study examined the process of the creation, expansion, decline and disposal of Daebodan in a chronological order, and found that the ruling ideology of the governing elite by the political and cultural background of the era at each transitional point was reflected in the spatial formation of the altar. On the other hand, as a result of performing a field survey to find the location in accordance with Daebodan in drawing materials, there remains items such as worked stones from Daebodan, precast pavers and fragments of proof tile discovered in the surrounding of tora vine (Actinidia arguta) which is a natural monument of Changdeok Palace. As such, verification through future excavation and investigation is required.
The main functions of a Buddhist temples are as a place for Buddhist services and a place for sermons and each ancient Buddhist temple was equipped with a main and separate building. After Zen Buddhism was first introduced, there was a tendency to change the terms to Buddhist sanctuary and altar, as set forth in the Zen Buddhism code of conduct called 'Cheonggyu(淸規)'. As such, it was thought that the division between Buddhist service space and preaching space were relatively firm until the Goryeo Dynasty. However in the period from the end of the Goryeo to the beginning of the Joseon Dynasty there was an increasing tendency of integration of the two buildings. It can be seen that, in cases where both buildings remained, statues of Buddha were enshrined in these buildings without any distinction. Eventually it is led to the tradition of duo-Buddhist sanctums.
Korea Protestant slower growth and social church's changes in the environment of the traditional worship center for the sermon to a variety of changes was required, because of this period reflects the availability of a new type of worship was to appear. These changes in the type of worship in the form of the worship space, and space configuration is affecting many more. This study was the type of church korea today, the type is classified as a traditional worship and contemporary worship, and to characterize the category by a change in the type of church worship space in the configuration that affects cases throughout the analysis was to investigate, study follows. Traditional worship the center of the altar, the altar placed platform form, a vertical elevation of the platform sheet form, the installation of the cross, place the side of the choir seats, church chair type attribute appears tradition and in part compressed pulpit appears symbolism. Contemporary worship to the exclusion of the symbolic elements of the platform open, flat sheet form and the platform was the preferred form of minor elevations of the flat, multi-purpose space used for worship to sermon platform placed around the altar of the adjustable type, the choir seats placed in scheelite, preferred form of scheelite was an individual chair. However, the characteristics of traditional and contemporary worship space features a mix of worship space, quite a lot of cases that have been found. Integrated and consistent element of the worship space, the worship of the discrepancy in the form of systematic theological depth analysis did not come true without lust about contemporary culture is changing rapidly to accommodate sprawl is judged. Therefore, the characteristics of the type of worship and prayer to understand the changes in the church building is a prerequisite to be a very important aspect.
The purpose of this paper is to study on the spatial characteristics from the "The Holy Trinity" fresco painted by Masaccio in the early Renaissance paintings. The results of this study are as follows. 1. The elevation composition of the "The Holy Trinity" fresco is divided into the upper and lower structure through horizontal axis on horizontal line around vanishing point. The upper structure is composed of vertical axis formed through the disposition of the "Trinity" elements and horizontal axis on horizontal line. The lower structure is composed of the sarcophagus and skeleton in such inside and the altar supported through circular columns of left and right. 2. The section composition of the "The Holy Trinity" fresco is composed of the ceiling structure of cylindrical-shaped vault on upper part around basic square floor plan that is interior space and upper structure. The exterior space and lower structure is placed with sarcophagus in inner part that altar and step is projected as same height and width in the outside direction. 3. The basic floor composition of the "The Holy Trinity" fresco is planned by square shape around structural columns that is placed at corners as symmetry through transverse, longitudinal and diagonal axis. The whole floor composition planned through the altar and step that is in exterior space at front, the apse of round form at rear part and the structure of the middle story concept at interior. 4. The visual aspect of the "The Holy Trinity" fresco is composed of the stable balance in relation with distance and height because the interior and exterior space as well as the upper structure and lower structure is formed by regular proportion system. The elevation angle of visual range was planned to view in detail generally or partially the architectural composition system and element, characters through proper visual distance, center and position.
