  • Reactors are connected with capacitors to passive filter circuits for reducing harmonics caused by power conversion application. This passive filter frequently gets out of order by voltage and current stress. Especially filter reactor has too much voltage harmonics components, its trouble rate is higher than capacitor. In this paper, we analyzed voltage and current of reactor and capacitor used for passive filter by simulation and measurement. If reactor has a tolerance on variation of reactance value, series resonance frequency is different from originally filter design frequency and parallel resonance can be generated at the close point of the former. Because filter absorbs harmonic component of non-linear load, much of harmonic voltage has been impacted on reactor.

  • Most of LV customer have applied the 3-phase four wire system distribution system because it has advantage of supplying both of 1-phase & 3-phase loads simultaneously. Due to its structural simplicity, it is more convenient for use rather than the conventional separated scheme. But voltage unbalance more commonly emerges in individual customer loads due to phase load unbalance, especially where, single-phase power loads are used. Voltage unbalance factor(VUF) represents the loss of symmetry in the supply(magnitude and angle). It leads some problems such as de-rating or power losses. In this paper, voltage and current waveform in the actual fields have been measured and analyzed in relation with internationally allowable voltage unbalance limits.

  • Low power circuit techniques have been developed to realize the highest possible performance of embedded SRAM at 1V power supply with$0.5\mu\textrm{m}$ single threshold CMOS technology in which the unbalance between NMOS and PMOS threshold voltages is utilized to optimize the low power CMOS IC design. To achieve the best trade-off between the transistor drivability and the subthreshold current increase, the ground potential of memory array is raised to suppressthe subthreshold current. The problems of lower cellstability and bit-line dealy increase due to the enhanced array ground potential are evaluated to be controlled within the allowable range by careful circuit design. 160MHz, 128kb embedded SRAM with 3.4ns access time is demonstrated with the power consumption of 14.8mW in active $21.4{mu}W$ in standby mode at 1V power supply.

  • Inner support regions of continuous steel and concrete composite bridge decks, transverse crackings are easely developed by tensile forces due to live loads and primary and secondary effects of concrete shrinkage. Since these cracks have an influence on the durability of bridge decks, crack width should be controlled within allowable limit values. Although crack width is a function of steel stress, bar diameter, bar spacing, etc, the current code for the amount of longitudinal reinforcements provides only one value of 2 percent of the concrete area. In order to investigate cracking bahaviors of composite girders with the variation of the longitudinal steel ratios, negative flexural tests are conducted on five composite girders and crack width and crack spacing are compared to ACI Code and Eurocode. Based on the test results, it is discussed the suitability of the current code for the longitudinal steel ratio.

  • It is very important to secure the marine vessels during entire loading and off-loading operations. The environment influences on loading conditions. the western coastal area of Korea is characterized as a strong current due to a high tidal range. The tension of mooring lines varies as per the current and wave changing its magnitude during the day. A proper mooring arrangement and design of mooring line should be determined as per environment conditions. In this study, a 50,000 DWT container ship being moored is investigated numerically. The dynamic tension of mooring lines is estimated by MORA (Mooring Response Analysis) software. Environmental conditions of selected offshore terminal site are plugged as input data. The mooring line tensions are obtained for various wave frequencies per wave directions. The results demonstrate the change of tensions of lines and the allowable range of safe conditions in berthed mooring.

  • A dynamic simulation program of a catenary-pantograph system including tunnel section and transient section is developed in this study. The simulation program can accommodate for the pantograph of two panheads and three d.o.f model. Using the developed program, the dynamic characteristics with a SCHUNK'S WBL 85-PANTOGRAPH are analyzed at the conventional TAEBAEK line and its tunnel section when the catenary system is supported by a tunnel bracket. The simulation results show that the variation of contact force md uplift displacement is allowable in general section and the entrance and exit of a tunnel, but the uplift displacement and the separation ratio within tunnel section is difficult to allow.

  • This paper introduces and develops an efficient method for measuring power factor (PF) and its nature under nonlinear load current situations. The method is based on generating a pulse width modulated signal whose width correlates to the value of PF. This signal can then be employed as a feedback signal for controlling PF related power quantities in a system. This method has the advantages of its simple implementation, less computational complexity, and its allowable error of less than 4[%], which is justified by the computer simulation results.

  • Improvement was made on the free span analysis of the offshore pipelines. The effect of axial force (both tension and compressive force) can be explicitly applied to the current design code. The closed form solutions of beam-column equation were derived for the typical boundary conditions. The solutions can be used to find the natural frequencies of the span using the energy balance concept. The results can be applied to the current design code and will result more realistic calculation of free span lengths of offshore pipelines.

  • The maximum output torque developed by the machine is dependent on the allowable current rating and maximum voltage that the inverter can supply to the machine. Therefore, to use the inverter capacity fully, it is desirable to use the control scheme considering the voltage and current limit condition, which can yield the maximum torque per ampere over the entire speed range. This controller is controlled speed and current using hybrid PI(HBPI) controller and estimation of speed using ANN. Also, this paper is proposed control of maximum torque per ampere(MTPA) of induction motor. This strategy is proposed which is simple in structure and has the honest goal of minimizing the stator current magnitude for given load torque. The performance of the proposed induction motor drive with maximum torque control using HBPI controller is verified by analysis results at dynamic operation conditions.

Therefore, to use the inverter capacity fully, it is desirable to use the control scheme considering the voltage and current limit condition, which can yield the maximum torque per ampere over the entire speed range. The paper is proposed maximum torque control of induction motor drive using adaptive learning neuro fuzzy controller and artificial neural network(ANN). The control method is applicable over the entire speed range and considered the limits of the inverter's current and voltage rated value. For each control mode, a condition that determines the optimal d, q axis current $_i_{ds}$, $i_{qs}$ for maximum torque operation is derived. The proposed control algorithm is applied to induction motor drive system controlled adaptive learning neuro fuzzy controller and ANN controller, the operating characteristics controlled by maximum torque control are examined in detail. Also, this paper is proposed the analysis results to verify the effectiveness of the adaptive learning neuro fuzzy controller and ANN controller.
