Al2O3 나노 입자를 적용한 증기 압축 냉동 사이클의 성능 (An Experimental Study on Performance of Vapor Compression Refrigeration Cycle with Al2O3 nano-particle)

  • $Al_2O_3$ 나노입자의 농도별로 전동식 압축기의 회전속도(rpm)의 변화에 따른 자동차용 증기압축 냉동사이클의 COP를 실험적으로 평가하고 나노입자를 적용하지 않은 기준 사이클의 COP와 비교하였다. 이를 위해 실제 하이브리드 자동차에서 쓰는 사이클 부품들을 이용하고 항온항습 챔버를 이용하지 않는 방식으로 장치를 설계 및 제작하였다. 별도의 전동식 인버터 압축기의 제어장치를 활용하여 1000rpm부터 500rpm 간격으로 4000rpm까지와 $Al_2O_3$ 나노입자를 질량비 기준으로 농도 0.05%, 0.1%, 0.2%와 0.5%의 범위에 대하여 실험을 수행하였다. 이를 통해 기준 사이클과 비교하면 기준 사이클의 일반적인 운전조건인 약 3000rpm에서 $Al_2O_3$ 나노유체를 적용하는 사이클의 COP는 질량 농도비 0.05%에서는 15.4% 정도, 농도비 0.1%, 0.2% 및 0.5%에서는 각각 9.4%, 13% 및 9.6%가 증가함을 알 수 있었다.

Turbulent Mixing Flow Characteristics of Solid-Cone Type Diesel Spray

  • The intermittent spray characteristics of the single-hole diesel nozzle (d$\sub$n/=0.32 mm) used in the fuel injection system of heavy-duty diesel engines were experimentally investigated. The mean velocity and turbulent characteristics of the diesel spray injected intermittently into the still ambient were measured by using a 2-D PDPA (phase Doppler particle analyzer) . The gradient of spray half-width linearly increased with time from the start of injection, and it approximated to 0.04 at the end of the injection. The axial mean velocity of the fuel spray measured along the radial direction was similar to that of the free air jet within R/b= 1.0-1.5 regardless of elapsing time, and its non-dimensional distribution corresponds to the theoretical velocity distributions suggested by Hinze in the downstream of the spray flow fields. The turbulent intensity of the axial velocity components measured along the radial direction represented the 20-30% of the U$\sub$cι/ and tended to decrease in the outer region. The turbulent intensity in the trailing edge was higher than that in the leading edge.

측정 방법에 따른 PM2.5 농도 비교 (Comparison of PM2.5 Concentrations by Measurement Method)

  • $PM_{2.5}$ concentrations were measured using a cyclone, impactor (the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency well impactor ninety-six, WINS) and optical particle counter (OPC) at a campus site located in Yongin for the period August 2014 through March 2017. The concentrations from cyclone (Y) were generally higher than those from impactor(X); the best-fit line was Y=1.22X+5.64. The ratios of $PM_{2.5}/PM_{10}$ ranged from 0.61 to 0.66 when $PM_{2.5}$ concentrations from cyclones in selected studies were converted into those from impactors using a regression equation in this study. The slope of the best-fit line between OPC and impactor was close to 1 at 0.95, while that between OPC and cyclone was 0.72. After sampling, the flow rate in the low-volume air sampler with cyclone decreased by 3% on average, which did not have a significant effect on measured concentrations.

  • The generation of fine relics of inorganic and metallic materials from precursor suspensions is of significant current interest as it holds the key to the fabrication of display and printed circuit board. Some novel printing methods depositing ceramic particles have been suggested in recent years. When a conducting liquid is supplied to a capillary nozzle at a low flow rate and when the interface between air and the liquid is charged to a sufficiently high electrical potential, the liquid meniscus takes the form of a stable cone, whose apex emits a microscopic jet. This is called as a cone-jet mode. In our experiments, an alumina particles flowing through a nozzle were subjected to electro-hydrodynamic printing in the cone-jet mode. The pattern of 'YONSEI' characters was tested at $10 {\mu}l/min$ of alumina ink flow rate and different applied voltages. At an applied voltage of 6 kV, feature size was in the range of $250 {\mu}m.$

춘천에서 2002년 봄철 황사 발생기간 동안에 채취된 미세분진 중 무기성분의 특성 (Characteristics of Inorganic Components in Fine Particles Collected at Chunchon during the Springtime Yellow Sand Occurrence Period in 2002)

  • Yellow sand (YS) storms were observed about ten times in the Korean peninsula during March and April in 2002. Twenty four hour fine particle (PM$\_$2.5/) samples were collected onto the 47 mm Teflon - coated quartz filters over 9 days during and after the events using the MiniVol Portable Air Sampler at a flow rate of 5 liters per minute. The highest PM$\_$2.5/ concentration measured during the YS period was 289 $\mu\textrm{g}$/㎥, which is 13 times higher than the lowest of the values for the samples collected during the non-yellow sand period. The filter samples were analyzed for inorganic ions using the IC, AAS and Autoanalyzer, and for metals using the ICP-MS. The results showed that the concentrations of some inorganic ions (e.g., Ca$\^$2+/ and SO$_4$$\^$2-/) and metals (e.g., Fe, Mn) of soil origin were elevated during the yellow sand events.

  • Removal of water contents in a gas is needed in industrial field of gas processing related on energy production/conversion, and environmental treatment. Inertial separators are economic devices for separating droplets from the gas stream. For accurate understanding of removal process in a curved vane mist eliminator, a numerical model including turbulent dispersion, evaporation and condensation of water vapor at surface of droplets is required. A two-stage curved vane mist eliminator has been modeled, and fluid flow of mixture of air and water vapor and droplet trajectories were solved simultaneously with taking into account two-way coupling. Removal efficiency of droplets with various inlet condition of relative humidities (RH, 40%, 90%, and 100%) were compared. As RH increased, the effect of evaporation decreased and inertial separation efficiencies of droplets obtained increased especially for droplets of diameter below 10 micrometers.

PIV를 이용한 DBD 플라즈마 유도 유동장 운동량의 예측 (Momentum Measurement of Induced Flow by DBD Plasma Using PIV)

  • Particle image velocimetry is performed in order to analyze flowfield induced by a dielectric barrier discharge plasma actuator. The velocity vector fields are obtained for the two different input voltage conditions; the voltage 3 and 5 kV at the frequency 10 kHz. The obtained flowfields show that the air is accelerated and its speed increase almost linearly over the covered electrode. The amount of momentum induced by the DBD plasma actuator is estimated from the obtained velocity fields, and the estimated values reasonably agree with the previous experiment.

입자크기분석을 위한 레이저회절 분광계의 측정오차 분석 (Analysis of Measuring Error for Particle Size Analysis by Laser Diffraction Spectrometer)

  • 본 연구는 입자크기를 분석하기 위한 장치인 레이저회절 분광계의 측정오차 및 재현성을 분석한 것이다. 레이저회절 spectrometers는 입자크기를 분석하기 위한 장치 중에서 가장 대표적이고 중요성을 가진다. 이 측정장치는 운전이 간단하며, 입자분석에 있어서 재현성이 우수하고, 빠른 속도로 분석이 가능한 형태이다. 입자크기를 분석하는 과정에 있어서 공급되는 분산형태와 흐름율에 따라서 측정오차가 미세하게 발생되었고, 흐름율은 분산형태가 건식인 경우 0.1~23 g/min로 공급하였고, 습식인 경우는 분산되는 용매에 따라서 1.4~35 %가 되도록 조절하여 측정결과에 따라서 발생되는 측정오차를 분석하였다. 흐름을 변화에 따라서 발생되는 측정 오차는 측정 cell 내의 입자에 입사되는 레이저 회절패턴이 변화함으로서 측정오차가 다양하게 발생하였다. 본 연구에서 측정오차를 분석하기 위해서는 입자모양, 크기, 분산형태와 용매, 흐름율과 농도의 변화에 따라서 실험을 실행하였고, 분석장치의 시스템에 따른 측정오차를 나타내기 위해서는 장치내의 역학적인 공정, 측정시간, 초점거리, 주입압력, 전처리과정인 ultrasonic이나 혼합에 의한 분산효과에 따라 측정오차 및 재현성을 분석하였다.

An Experimental and Numerical Study of Corona in a Cage with Sandy and Dusty Flow in High Altitude Area

  • In order to study the effect of the high-altitude and dusty weather in northwest of China on the corona characteristics of transmission lines, a corona caged based experimental system with sandy and dusty flow condition is numerically investigated and designed. This system overcomes the difficulties caused by harsh environment and offers easy usage for off-site tests. The design parameters are mainly determined by the characteristics of strong sandstorm in northwest region and test requirements. By the comparison of numerical simulation of the particle diffusion in four programs with rectangular or circular air-duct, a practical technology, which introduces swirl to control the particle diffusion length, is obtained. Accordingly, the structure of round air-duct with swirl elbow in inlet and outlet of high level segment is selected as final program. Systems of control and measurement are designed at the same time. Field tuning results show that the test system could ensure the range of sandy and dusty coverage. The wind speed, sandy and dusty concentration could be controlled and meet the requirements of accuracy. The experimental system has many features, such as simple structure, easy to be assembled, disassembled, transported and operated, small space occupied.

고체연료 램젯용 HTPB 연료그레인에 첨가제와 점화보조제가 미치는 영향 (Effects of Additives and Ignition Support Material on HTPB Fuel Grains for Solid Fuel Ramjet)

  • 첨가제와 점화 보조제가 적용된 고체연료 램젯 용 연료 그레인의 연소시험을 수행하여 점화 지연과 연소 효율을 확인하였다. 연료 그레인은 HTPB에 AP 파우더 15 wt.% 보론 입자 5 wt.%가 혼합된 형태로 구성되어 있다. 연료 그레인에 $NC/BKNO_3$와 Composite 추진제로 이루어진 점화보조제를 도포하여 우수한 점화성능을 확보하였다. 에탄올 블렌딩 과산화수소 가스발생기를 통해 램젯 연소실의 공기와 가깝도록 온도, 압력, 산소 조성을 조절한 산화제 가스를 유속 $200kg/m^2s$ 으로 흐르도록 설정하였다. 실험 결과, 점화보조제의 작동을 통해 연료그레인에서 0.5초의 점화 지연시간을 파악하였다. 또한 보론의 연소를 통해 8 bar의 일정한 연소실 압력과 0.86의 높은 연소 효율을 확인하였다.
