내열 및 내유성 고무복합체 특성연구(The study on the thermal and oil resistance rubber composite), 2016.[6] 연구에서는 고온($150^{\circ}C$, $175^{\circ}C$, $200^{\circ}C$) 조건의 고온촉진노화를 통하여 불소고무 복합체의 수명을 예측하였다.
Inconel 718 super alloy was aging heat treated at the temperature range from $675^{\circ}C$ to $785^{\circ}C$ for 5~40 hours after solution annealing at $1025^{\circ}C$ for 1 hour. The aging treated specimens were investigated microstructure, mechanical properties and thermal expansion/contraction. Precipitates appeared for a long time aging treatment were niobium carbide and also ${\gamma}^{\prime}$ phase. For the aging treatment time of 10 hours, the changes in strength and hardness with increasing aging treatment temperature showed the maximum value at the temperature of $725^{\circ}C$. This maximum value is to be related with the precipitation of ${\gamma}^{\prime}$ and ${\gamma}^{{\prime}{\prime}}$ phases. The decrease in strength, elongation and hardness during long time aging at $725^{\circ}C$ were thought to be induced from the coarsening of the grain size and the transformation of ${\gamma}^{{\prime}{\prime}}$ phase to ${\gamma}^{\prime}$ phase. For the specimens treated for 10 hours, impact energy showed constant value of ~105 J with increasing the aging temperature, however this value continuously decreased with elapsing time at the aging temperature of $725^{\circ}C$. It was found that the decrease in impact value was induced from the coarsening of grain size and the carbide coarsening. The coefficient of thermal expansion of aging treated Inconel 718 alloy increased with raising test temperature, and the coefficient was appeared $11.57{\sim}12.09{\mu}m/m{\cdot}^{\circ}C$ and $14.28{\sim}14.39{\mu}m/m{\cdot}^{\circ}C$, respectively, after heating to $150^{\circ}C$ and $450^{\circ}C$.
The fatigue properties of Ti-Ni shape memory alloy wires were investigated. In Ni-rich Ti-Ni shape memory alloys, $Ti_3Ni_4$ precipitates formed by aging treatments are believed to vary the shape memory and mechanical properties. In this study, the effect of aging temperature and aging time on shape memory properties and fatigue life were investigated using Ti-50.9 at% Ni alloy wires. The specimens were solution-treated at 1073 K for 3.6 ks followed by aging at 573 K, 673 K and 773 K for periods between 3.6 ks and 3600 ks. It was found that the fatigue life under a constant stress decreased with increasing aging temperature. When the specimens were aged at 573 K for periods between 36 ks and 360 ks, superior shape memory and fatigue properties were obtained. The fatigue life also decreased when the test temperature and strain amplitude increased. It was concluded that the fatigue life exhibited a linear relationship with the critical stress for slip.
In this paper, the emission and aging properties of ZnS:Cu electroluminescent device were experiment respectively at room temperature and 7$0^{\circ}C$ relative humidity 100%. ZnS:Cu and BaTiO$_3$were respectively used for phosphor and dielectric. While AC 100V on 400Hz frequency were applied to the devices at room temperature and 70$_3$relative humidity 100%, the change of brightness were measured and compared. The surface of aged devices were investigated by scanning electron microscope. With the continuously operated environment of room temperature and 7$0^{\circ}C$ relative humidity 100%, the decay time were measured and the dark spot and aging status on the surface of the device were investigated. ZnS:Cu electroluminescent properties were deteriorated by the Increased temperature and humidity. Also the deteriorated properties were confirmed by the brightness and surface chanties of device, and the aging mechanism from the simulation on sulfur vacancy and deep tracts density.
Aging is defined as a collective process that alters organism's functional capacity and appearance over the course of life. Apart from an increase in susceptibility to many diseases, aging affects the cellular system that is responsible for decoding painful stimuli. Yet, aging-associated molecular mechanisms of pain perception remains elusive. Using Drosophila, we showed a decrease in temperature tolerance and a reduction in high temperature thermal avoidance with aging. Locomotor activity assay demonstrated that the age-dependent changes in heat nociception did not stem from the general decline in muscular activity. However, we identified pain-related gene expression alteration with aging. We anticipate that our findings would help opening a new window onto developing the optimal pain treatment for the elderly.
Quick aging of catalysts has done with IAE(Institute for advanced engineering) AGING MODE suggested by IAE. To estimate the effects of number of aging cycle, temperature and $H_2O$, characteristics of surfaces, mechanical properties and weibull modulus were estimated. Also, the conversion efficiency of aged catalysts was evaluated with model gas bench test. The area of surface and pore volume were decreased according to the number of aging cycle. The precious metal which is well dispersed in fresh state was sintered and agglomerated with aging. The mechanical of deactivation and sintering of catalysts are discussed on the basis of mechanical tests. The conversion efficiency was decreased with the repeats of aging. Especially, the existence of $H_2O$ in supply gas had a main role in catalyst deactivation withy high temperature.
NR composites with different curing systems were aged thermally at 60, 70, 80, and $90^{\circ}C$ for 2-185 days in a convection oven, and the changes in the crosslink density were investigated as a function of the accelerated thermal aging. The overall crosslink densities increased with increasing aging time irrespective of the aging temperatures and curing systems. The changes in crosslink density were enhanced by increasing the aging temperature. The degree of the increased crosslink density was in the following order: "the conventional cure system > the semi-EV system > the EV system". For short term thermal aging, the change in crosslink density with the aging time was complicated, particularly for low temperature aging. The activation energies of the change in crosslink density with thermal aging using the conventional and semi-EV cure systems increased and then remained relatively constant with increasing aging time, whereas that of the specimen with an EV cure system tended to increase linearly. The experimental results were explained by the dissociation of the existing polysulfidic linkages and the formation of new cross links through the crosslinking-related chemicals remaining in the sample.
The ifluence of transformability and stabilized effects in tetragonal phase on the isothermal phase transformation of Y-TZP at low temperature were investigated. The transformability of Y-TZP powders were gradually increased with calcination temeprature and reached maximum at critical temperature, but when the Y-TZP powders were calcined above critical temperature, transformability of Y-TZP were gradually decreased with increasing calcination temperature. It was concluded that maximum transformability was appeared because particle size effects decreased and constrain effects increased with calcined temperature. The isothermal phase transformation during aging at 25$0^{\circ}C$ only observed in Y-TZP stabilized by constrain effects and the amounts of transformation during aging at 25$0^{\circ}C$ only observed in Y-TZP stabilized by constrain effects and the amount of transformed monoclinic phase during aging decreased with increasing constrain effects. From these results, the mechanism of isothermal phase transformation and degradation behaviors at low temperature in Y-TZP was concluded that occurred by decreasing of constrain effects due to stress relaxation at grian boundary.
Various aging treatments were conducted on AISI 630 martensitic precipitation hardening stainless steel in order to optimize aging condition. Aging treatment was carried out in the vacuum chamber of Ar gas with changing aging temperature from 380℃ to 430℃ and aging time from 2h to 8h at 400℃. After obtaining the optimized aging condition, several nitrocarburizing treatments were done without and with the aging treatment. Nitrocarburizing was performed on the samples with a gas mixture of H2, N2 and CH4 for 15 h at vacuum pressure of 4.0 Torr and discharge voltage of 400V. The corrosion resistance was improved noticeably by combined process of aging and nitrocarburizing treatment, which is attributed to higher chromium and nitrogen content in the passive layer, as confirmed by XPS analysis. The optimized condition is finalized as, 4h aging at 400℃ and then subsequent nitrocarburizing at 400℃ with 25% nitrogen and 4% methane gas for 15h at vacuum pressure of 4.0 Torr and discharge voltage of 400V, resulting in the surface hardness of around 1300 HV0.05 and α'N layer thickness of around 11 ㎛ respectively.
High temperature materials in service are subjected to mechanical damage due to operating load and metallurgical damage due to operating temperature. Therefore, when designing or assessing life of high temperature components, both factors must be considered. In this paper, the effect of tensile hold time on high temperature fatigue crack growth and long term prior thermal aging heat treatment on creep rupture behavior were investigated using STS 316L and STS 316 austenitic stainless steels, which are widely used for high temperature components like in automotive exhaust and piping systems. In high temperature fatigue crack growth tests using STS 316L, as tensile hold time increased, crack growth rate decreased in relatively short tensile hold time region. In long term aged specimens, cavity type microcracks have been observed at the interface of grain boundary and coarsened carbide.
