The purpose of this study with regard to this is to subdivide unmet healthcare needs of family living with dementia patients into affordability, accommodation, and accessibility and figure out the relevant factors. Methodology: The 2017 Community Health Survey was used, and 2,331 families living with dementia patients was included. To figure out the factors with regard to the types of unmet healthcare needs, multinominal logistic regression analysis was conducted. Findings: According to the analysis result, sex, age, monthly household income, economic activity, self-rated health, self-rated stress and perception of depressive symptoms turned out to be the factors related to unmet healthcare needs. Regarding affordability, unmet healthcare needs were low when the object was female, over 65, highly educated, and monthly household income were high. On the other hand, unmet healthcare needs was high when self-rated health was bad, self-rated stress was high, and had depression. With regard to accommodation, unmet healthcare needs were low when the object was over 65. Unmet healthcare needs were high when the object was female, economically active and had depression, and self-rated health was high. Regarding accessibility, unmet healthcare needs were low when the object was high school graduate, but it was high when self-rated health was bad. Practical Implication: This study confirmed that the family with dementia patients had a high proportion of unmet healthcare needs due to affordability and accommodation. The existing main discussion was that the experience of unmet healthcare needs normally occurred due to economic reasons, but a consideration on various cases and factors is required to ultimately achieve the policy goal to reduce the unmet healthcare needs of the family living with dementia.

  • Aging is accompanied with numerous transitions in life, and residential environment becomes a pivotal part of the elderly's lives. Physically supportive housing linked with services emerges in midst of the reality that retrofitting housing with special features has been seriously underfunded. The purpose of this study was to examine the residential satisfaction of the elderly in two types of independent living arrangements specially designed for the elderly. The indices of residential supportiveness were developed, and the questionnaire survey was adopted for data collection. Two hundred eighty residents living in two different kinds of senior housing participated in the survey, and all the collected responses were used for data analysis. The finding showed that almost all of the elderly positively assessed their senior living. That is, the statistical analysis illustrated that satisfaction indices of senior living significantly and positively contributed the satisfaction with overall residential environment. Satisfaction with physical environment was the only strong predictor in explaining current residential satisfaction of the elderly in senior rental housing, and accounted for a small proportion of the variance in the dependent variable. Since affordability was the biggest concern among residents in senior housing, it was of significance that long-term housing affordability was ensured and reduction in service cost by utilizing economies of scale was pursued.

  • Purpose - Considering the importance of housing needs to real estate market, domestic studies on real estate prices from the perspective of demand are basically based on macro-data, but relatively few are associated with micro-data of urban real estate demand. We try to find a reliable relation of elasticity of demand and commercial housing market. Research design, data, and methodology - In this paper, we have derived housing demand theoretic method and have utilized micro-data of residential family housing survey of downtown area in Kunming City in October, 2015 to estimate income elasticity and price elasticity of housing demand respectively and make a comparative analysis. Results - The results indicate that income elasticity and price elasticity of families with owner-occupied housing are both larger than those of families with rental housing. Income elasticity of housing demand of urban residential families in Kunming is far below the foreign average and eastern coastal cities level, however, the corresponding price elasticity is far higher. Conclusions - We suggest that housing affordability of urban families in western China are constrained by the level of economic development, and the current housing price level has exceeded the economic affordability and psychological expectation of ordinary residents. Furthermore, noticing the great rigidity of housing demand, the expansion space of housing market for improvement and for commodity is limited.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate housing cost burden of U.S. households according to current and previous tenure types and explore influences on their housing affordability. The public-use microdata of the 2009 American Housing Survey was analyzed in the following two stages: In the first stage, households were classified into eight groups by combining their current and previous tenure types, year moved into current housing units and mortgage status of current owners and their characteristics were compared. In the second stage, the factors that influenced the housing cost burden by each combined tenure group were explored using multiple regression analyses. The findings are as follows: (1) The mortgage status was more influential than the previous housing experiences of owner households to distinguish one owner household from another. (2) Renter households who had been owners of previous housing units showed significantly different characteristics compared to continuing and new renter households in terms of income, educational attainment, and householder's marital status as well as housing costs and housing cost burdens. (3) To see the multiple regression analysis results, households with different current and previous tenure types were found to have different factors that influenced the housing cost burdens. In addition, household characteristics were found to have significant influences on housing cost burdens as strong as cost-related variables such as annual mortgage payments and rent per square footage.

Empirical research and analysis were done for the research. Survey from advanced research and clothing design for the senior citizens in Japan and German are analyzed. The result of this research extracted characteristics, which applied to the production of a severe senior patient wear. And the following characteristics emerged: affordability, comfort, aesthetics, and ease of putting on the clothes. To meet these conditions by the details of the clothing design, using fasteners like zippers and Velcro is useful. It is able to solve the problem of affordability making the vertically integrated overalls to be able being separated by zippers in order to reduce the volume of laundry. It was able to overcome the discomfort due to contamination of the feces through the use of the fasteners even though the importance of choosing the comfort material related closely to the comfort. Using material mixed with multiple colors, plaid or bright pink, instead of using neutral colors fulfilled the aesthetic requirement. In Particular, utilizing detachable function fasteners contributed great services.

A licensed microdata set of 2012 KHS was obtained on September 29, 2012 from the official KHS Website and analyzed statistically. I selected 93,795 young college graduate renters between 20 and 29 years of age in the Capital Region and compared their housing costs across income levels and tenure type. Major findings were as follows: (1) Jeon-se deposit was on average 3.1 times the annual household income and monthly renters' deposit was 7.1 times the monthly household income; (2) households in higher income groups tended to pay a larger deposit and/or monthly rent; however, households with a lower income were found to pay a greater proportion of income to housing costs than households with a relatively higher income; (3) a total of 64% of all young college graduate renters had housing cost burdens to pay 30% or more of their income for housing, and more than 78% of the low-income households were found burdened; and (4) after housing cost payments, low-income households had less than one million KRW left to spend on other needs and savings; in addition, some low-to mid-income households had zero or even minus income left after housing cost payments.
