The results of the study showed that the level of knowledge was 3.411 points and the level of recognition was 2.542 points. There was a significant difference in purchase of irradiated food by level of education, affiliation, and job type; in consumption of irradiated food by affiliation, level of education, job type and work experience; in preventive behavior of irradiated food by affiliation, work experience and job type. In a correlation analysis on the factors of irradiated food, those with more knowledge and better recognition had more experience of purchase and consumption. However, preventive behavior had no significant correlation with knowledge, recognition, purchase and consumption. Therefore, for a rational selection of irradiated food, it is important to provide information and safety training on them.

  • The term 'nursing' is often defined as a therapeutic and interpersonal process that ultimately functions to help clients. In the process of helping, empathic ability(ability to entering into the another's feeling or motives) is an essential factor that has been proved in the fields of psychology and social psychology. In the sense, nursing personnel with high level of empathy is required to accomplish the comprehensive nursing. The purpose of this study was (1) to investigate empathy between nursing and non-nursing students, (2) to examine changes of empathic ability in accordance with their academic years, and (3) to show relationships, if any, between the two concepts, empathy and need-affiliation. For the survey, 325 respondents for nursing department and 378 from non-nursing departments were randomly selected from the two universities in Seoul. The instruments used in this questionaire survey method were Hogan's Empathy Scale and Mehrabian's Need-Affiliation Scale, each of them has established its validity and reliability in many different people and settings. For the analysis, descriptive stative statistics were mostly used by calculating frequencies, percentages and mean scores. T-test, analysis of variance and correlation coefficient were employed to test the differences and the statistical significance. The results of this study are summarized as follows: (1) There was no significant difference in empathic ability detween the nursing and non-nursing student (2) The levels of empathy among the nursing students, 'surprisingly enough, were negatively correlated with their academic years, even though statistical significations was not found. • In recent years retail competition has intensified, generally as a consequence of technologies, more sophisticated management practices and industry consolidation. An understanding of current customers' loyalty intentions and their determinants is an important basis for the identification of optimal retailer actions. The focus of this study is to examine the links between patronage intention and the effects of various antecedents of current customers' store loyalty intentions in fashion store. 340 female universities students living in Seoul were analyzed by utilizing multiple regressions to investigate the predictability of each of the 4 different sets of variables(consumer value, source of information, clothing benefits, importance of store attributes) on four patronage intentions of apparel shopping(discount store, speciality store, conventional market, Fashion shopping mall). Four factors were significant in predicting conventional market patronage intention. Brand had a negative coefficient, while price, social affiliation, store fashion service/promotion had positive coefficients. Fashion shopping mall were predicted by five factors:brand had a negative coefficient, while media, social affiliation, price, uniqueness had positive coefficients. For specialty store, four factors were significant: brand had a negative coefficient, while store fashion service/promotion, personal sources, uniqueness had positive coefficients. Four factors were significant in predicting discount store patronage intention :price, store fashion service/promotion, social affiliation, variety of price & product had positive coefficients. Despite the relatively low $r^2s$, all four variables appeared to have, to some degree, predictability of choosing among four different types of store for apparel shopping. Based on the results, patronage intention profiles for four retail stores were developed. Marketing implications are discussed.

  • This paper tests the validity of pecking order theory by Myers(1977) and Myers and Majluf(1984) on Korean manufacturing firms listed in the KRX for the years of 1994 to 2003. We also want to see if there is any difference in financing behavior between chaebol affiliated firms and non-chaebol affiliated firms. We develop testable hypotheses from the idea that established relationship between bank and firm mitigates the problem of information asymmetry (Kang and Lim, 2001), and thus makes it easier for firms to raise funds through banks. The test result of the first stage shows that firms prefer cash reserves to debt financing, and prefer debt to equity. Chaebol affiliated firms are found to behave as if they already exploit internal capital markets. The second stage of the test carried out by dividing debt capital into bank loans and corporate bonds also shows a consistent pattern of financing behavior. Firms are testified to prefer cash to bank loans, bank loans to corporate bonds, and corporate bonds to equity. In this case chaebol affiliation seems to make firms behave as if they already establish internal capital markets. Further analysis shows that some, though not in every case, difference of ordering around the occasion of Korean financial crisis exists. It may be from the change of attitude of Korean firms to risk, or from weakened influence of internal capital market along with strengthened market power in the post-crisis period.

For this study, the effect of LMX on AOCB and COCB, as well as the mediating effect of AOCB behavior, the moderating role of toxic leadership, were analyzed. The results of studies are as follows. First, LMX had a positive effect on AOCB and COCB, respectively. Second, AOCB has a mediating-effect between LMX and COCB. and Third, toxic leadership confirmed the moderating-effect between LMX and AOCB, and finally the moderated-mediating-effect through AOCB in the relationship between LMX and COCB. Therefore, it was analyzed that the quality of the relationship between leader and member in the organization is an important factor in expanding the positive and voluntary behavior of members in the organization. In addition, since toxic leadership weakens positive and voluntary civic behavior for organizational members, it suggests the need for strategy to overcome toxic leadership for an efficient organization management.

  • This study aims to examine whether committee preference and negotiation group affiliation have an effect on proposals and passages of legislators' bills. Previous studies points out predominances and reflections of partisan interests, but analytic result shows legislators' preferences work on introductions and passages of bills through committee and negotiation group as assembly institutions. The rates of proposals and passages were high in the committee that legislators would like to belong to. The same result was found in negotiation group affiliation. However, active activities of legislators works in only their committees, not in a general meeting. This result shows that committee and negotiation group are significant institutions of national assembly.
