  • Numerical simulations for channel flows with $Re_{\tau}$ = 180, 395 and 590 have been performed to investigate the hairpin packet formation process in wall-bounded turbulent flows. Using direct numerical simulation databases, the initial flow fields are given by the conditionally averaged flow field with the second quadrant event specified at the buffer layer. By tracking the initial vortex development, the change in the initial vortex to an ${\Omega}$-shaped vortex and th generation of a secondary hairpin vortex were found to occur with time scales based on the wall units. In addition, at the time when the initial vortex has grown to the channel center, the inclination angle of the hairpin vortex packet is approximately $12{\sim}14^{\circ}$, which is similar for all three Reynolds numbers. Finally, numerical simulations of the evolution of two adjacent hairpin vortices have been performed to examine the interaction between the adjacent vortex packets.

  • This paper is channel assignment and scheduling techniques for efficient wireless AMI network. In AMI system, the multi-channel cluster network to be proposed defines the communication channel between NC (Network Coordinator) and CDA (Clustered Data Aggregator) as the network channel. CDA and OMD(Out Meter display) and communication channel between SMD(Smart Meter Device) are defined as the group channel. AMI network of the multi-channel cluster based in which the network channel and group channel is mixed increases the administration efficiency through the physical/logical consumer channel clustering. The reliability of inspection data through the channel use distinguished between the adjacent cluster is enhanced. In addition, the fast aggregation of data is possible and the size of a metering network is increased through the channel allocation of the multichannel cluster based.

  • In this thesis, we analyze performance related to reduction scheme of intercell interference causing serious problems in wiBro system. Frequency reusing factor(FUF) is 1 in WiBro system, and it means that a adjacent cell uses same frequency band. This channel environment raises intercell interference problem, which provokes serious problems related to system performance and channel capacity. Consequently, it affects deterioration in system performance as a whole. We analyze intercell interference when appling a various schemes such as (DCA)Dynamic Channel Allocation, CS(Channel Segregation), IMUFR(Interference Mitigation Using Frequency Reuse), IDMA(Interleave Division Multiple Access), IDMA(Interleave Division Multiple Access), FH-OFDM, CRSA(Conceptual Random Subcarrier Allocation), and HDD

  • In this paper, we study the coexistence of typical radio access technologies (WiMAX, CDMA, WLAN) in heterogeneous networks. Although the radio accesses employ different frequency band, they can interfere with each other due to out-of- band emission. We compute the minimum adjacent channel interference ratio (ACIR) to satisfy the allowable level of interference, and the resulting minimum frequency separation (guard band) between interfering and victim system. We observe that WiMAX-WLAN coexistence and WiMAX-CDMA coexistence are feasible with at least 20 MHz and 15 MHz guard bands, respectively.

  • In this paper, the derivation of the protection ratio for the digital microwave system with diversity is newly suggested for a basic guidance of initial planning for frequency coordination, and computational results are presented for an actual radio frequency band. The net filter discrimination has been also examined to see the effect of the adjacent channel protection ratio caused by adjacent channel interference. In addition, the protection ratios for the space or frequency diversity system are analyzed in terms of diversity improvement factors to find out an equivalent allowable noise-to-interference ratio (N/I) from degraded fade margin. According to results for 6.2 GHz system, with the space diversity of 25 m distance between antennas or the frequency diversity of ${\Delta}f/f=0.05$, under 64-QAM and 60 km at BER $10^{-6}$, the protection ratio can be greatly reduced in comparison to the non-diversity system. So, assuming that only the same protection ratio as the non-diversity system is kept, it is shown that the system with diversity may get more interference level of N/I allowing from 9.0 to - 5.9 dB or from 6.0 to - 4.3 dB for the space or frequency diversity. In consequence, it is concluded that the diversity system is more robust or tolerable for interferences or fades, which may play an important role in overcoming N/I to some extent.

  • The objective of this planning proposal is to rehabilitate the urban stream which has been ecologically disturbed in the urban process. The experimental stream, Su-am stream located in Anyang City is typical urban stream in adjacent land use and the spatial condition. The stream in the watershed context, is the second tributary of Han River, in the Anyangcheon watershed. The Characteristics of the stream reach were analyzed by the river corridor survey. In the conceptual phase, Rehabilitation Programs were established based on the hydrological, ecological and spatial characteristics of the stream. Spatial zoning concept according to the characteristics of the stream and adjacent land use, was suggested 4 types of zoning; ecological preservation zone, natural landscape zone, neighborhood water-friendly zone and CBD water-friendly zone. Implementation Practices can be summarized as follow: For The longitudinal river continuum, some In-stream practices were suggested and implemented; such as channel alignment, step & pool, pool & riffle and low-flow channel bank. For latitudinal continuum and intimate spatial relationship between Sam-duk Park & Su-am stream, gentle sloped bank was planned and implemented. After stream improvement & ecological Implementation, follow-up monitoring and adaptive management programs will be a meaningful process for ecological rehabilitation.

  • In this paper, we propose a method to improve performance of pilot symbol assisted modulation(PSAM) channel estimation method for OFDM systems over frequency selective channel. When channel values are estimated, the low pilot density used for channel estimation increases not only the effective data rate but also power efficiency. Thus, the lower pilot density which is used for channel estimation is better for OFDM system. At first, we estimate the channel values which are located at the middle of adjacent pilots, and then all of the possible channel values are estiamted by using original pilot values and previously estimated pilot values. Furthermore, the error of estimated channel values is reduced by introducing guard interval which is designed acccording to maximum channel delay. Performance achieved with the proposed method is illustrated by simulation experiments in comparison with the existing methods in terms of mean squared error(MSE).

  • This paper presents the performance evaluation of direct broadcasting satellite by monte-carlo(MC) and quasi-analytic(QA) simulation method in the existence of uplink/downlink adjacent channel interference(ACI), co-channel interference(CCI), and gaussian noise. Korea's satellite system parameters and link design are used at the simulation. MC and QA simulation methods are a valuable adjunct to analytical performance.
