This paper is an exploratory study on the success factors of Defence Quality Management System (DQMS) which is the certification system granted by the military for improving the quality of munitions. DQMS is established by adding military requirements to the ISO standard, thus, we especially focus on the additional requirements to figure out success key factors of DQMS certification. The 51 additional requirements of Korean Defense Specification (KDS) are empirically investigated from 67 companies that acquired DQMS certification. Firstly, we conduct an independent t-tests on 51 additional requirements of KDS 0050-900-3 to determine if there is a difference between an easily certified company and a hard-to-certify company, and obtain 8 requirements such as 'Internal propagation of performance', 'Preparation of documented work instructions', 'Work instructions in the workplace', 'Documentation of equipment management', 'Inventory management', 'Packaging and identification', 'Guarantee of access to internal audit result for customers', 'Notification to the customer for improper product.' Secondly, we carry out an factor analysis to the 51 additional requirements for classification, and figure out that 4 requirements among the 8 requirements above mentioned are grouped together in the same factor. The 4 requirements are 'Preparation of documented work instructions', 'Work instructions in the workplace', 'Packaging and identification', and 'Guarantee of access to internal audit result for customers.' The result of this paper will provide useful information to the company preparing for DQMS.

We propose a new method of robot manipulator modeling. Different from existing modelers, our modeler provides a convenient robot modeling configured from modules from module library or module modeling. In addition, a way of using D-H parameters to configure a robot is proposed. These additional functions of robot modeling can be a powerful and flexible tool for various needs of robot modeling. We show an example of modeling with our approach.

In this paper we propose the multiple local search method(MLSM) based on the motion information of the neighbor blocks. In the proposed method motions are estimated from the multiple searches of many candidate local search regions. To reduce the additional search points we avoid to search the same candidate regions previously visited using the distance from the initial search point to the recently found vector points. In the simulation the proposed method shows more excellent results than that of other gradient based method especially in the search of motion boundary.

This study examines the effects of information and communication technologies on individual performance. The literature has paid a considerable amount of attention to social influence as a determinant of individual behavior. We combine task-technology fit with concepts from adaptive structuration theory to specify social influence. In our model, we suggest that individuals should receive support from proper social construction to have additional performance improvement. Empirical data from 317 individuals across 43 teams in 10 companies is used to assess the theoretical model. Our theoretical model received support from the data.

저작권법에 의한 데이터베이스 보호에 문제가 제기되자 세계 각국에서는 추가적인 데이터베이스 보호법 제정 여부를 놓고 열띤 논의를 벌이고 있다. 본 연구에서는 저작권법에 의한 데이터베이스 보호의 문제점 및 최근 선진 각국의 데이터베이스 보호 입법 동향을 살펴보고 이를 토대로 국내 데이터베이스 산업 활성화를 위한 법적인 보호 대응책을 제안하였다.

In sequential capital allocation processes, the information on the future availability (flexibility) of invested funds provides a decision maker with additional insight into the characteristics of alternatives. The investment decision with consideration of flexibility and profitability results in more wealth accumulation than the decision without considering flexibility does in sequential investment processes. To utilize the information on the flexibility under certainty, the PV/FI decision model is developed.

In this paper a new process capability index $C_{psks}$ is introduced for non-normal process. $C_{psks}$ that is proposed by transformation of the $C_{psks}$ incorporates an additional skewness correction factor in the denominator of $C_{psks}$. The use of each technique is illustrated by reference to a distribution system which includes the Pearson and Johnson functions. Accordingly, $C_{psks}$ is proposed as the process capability measure for non-normal process.

In this paper, a new iterative decoding of LDPC codes is proposed. The decoding is based on the posteriori probability of each belief propagation (BP) decoding and an additional postprocessing, that is, erasure decoding of LDPC codes. It turned out that the new method consistently improves the decoding performance on various classes of LDPC codes. For example it removes the error floor of Margulis codes effectively.

Image quality analysis has been carried out for both monochrome and colour print images obtained by a calibrated low-end scanner. The analysis method is based upon ISO13660 for monochrome images and additional criteria for colour quality that we have defined. We have compared performance of the calibrated scanner with that of a high-end spectrophotometer in terms of several aspects such as line and large area. They have provided similar results without significant discrepancy.

Compared with unicast, multicast over wireless ad-hoc networks do not support reliability due to their inability to exchange request-to-send/clear-to-send (RTS/CTS) and ACK packets with multiple recipients. Although several media access control (MAC) layer protocols have been proposed to provide reliable multicast, these introduce additional overhead, which degrades system performance. A novel MAC protocol for reliable wireless multicast is proposed in this paper. By adapting orthogonal frequency division multiple access characteristics in CTS and ACK packets, the protocol achieves reliability over wireless multicast with minimized overhead.
