  • This paper proposes a speed control system based on a fuzzy logic approach, integrated with a simple and effective adaptive algorithms. And this paper attempts to provide a thorough comparative insight into the behavior of induction motor drive with PI, direct and improved fuzzy speed controller. A indirect vector controlled induction motor is simulated under varying operating condition. The validity of the comparative results is confirmed by simulation results for induction motor drive system.

  • This paper presents speed control of IPMSM drive using neural network(NN) PI controller. In general, PI controller in computer numerically controlled machine process fixed gain. They may perform well under some operating conditions, but not all. To increase the robustness of fixed gain PI controller, NNPI controller proposes a new method based neural network. NNPI controller is developed to minimize overshoot rise time and settling time following sudden parameter changes such as speed, load torque and inertia. Also, this paper is proposed speed control of IPMSM using neural network and estimation of speed using artificial neural network(ANN) controller. The back propagation neural network technique is used to provide a real time adaptive estimation of the motor speed. The results on a speed controller of IPMSM are presented to show the effectiveness of the proposed gain tuner. And this controller is better than the fixed gains one in terms of robustness, even under great variations of operating conditions and load disturbance.

Adaptive sliding mode observer of the motor stator coordinate system using the voltage equations of the rotor flux components are observed. Lyapunov function of the induction motor speed is estimated by the relationship further. In order to establish such a control scheme based on the way conventional PI controller and sliding mode observer annexing characteristics of the system through simulation and experiment were compared. Analyzed and compared according to the results presented confirmed the usefulness of the system.

  • Normally, the artificial intelligence algorithms are widely applied to the optimal controller design. Then, it is expected that the best output performance is achieved. Unfortunately, when resulting controller parameters are implemented by using the practical devices, the output performance cannot be the best as expected. Therefore, the paper presents the optimal controller design using the combination between the state-space averaging model and the adaptive Tabu search algorithm with the new criteria as two penalty conditions to handle the mentioned problem. The buck-boost converter regulated by the cascade PI controllers is used as the example power system. The results show that the output performance is better than those from the conventional design method for both input and load variations. Moreover, it is confirmed that the reported controllers can be implemented using the realistic devices without the limitation and the stable operation is also guaranteed. The results are also validated by the simulation using the topology model of MATLAB and also experimentally verified by the testing rig.

  • In this paper, we proposed that the problem of controlling induction motor with magnetic saturation is studied from an input-output feedback linearization with adaptive algorithm. The $\pi$-model of induction motor is considered. An adaptive input-output feedback linearizing controller is considered under the assumption of known motor parameters and unknown load torque. Simulation results are provided for illustration.

  • In this paper, an adaptive passivity based excitation and governor control scheme is proposed to enhance the transient stability of a single machine infinite bus power system with parametric uncertainties. We employ a state model where the frequency, the difference between active and mechanical power, and the difference between the squared terminal voltage and its reference are regarded as state variables. Using this state model, the proposed controller is obtained in two steps; firstly, a simple direct adaptive passivation controller is designed for the power system with parametric uncertainties; then a linear PI controller is applied to guarantee the stability of the closed loop system.

  • This paper describes a control scheme of speed sensorless fuzzy direct torque control (FDTC) of permanent magnet synchronous motor for electric vehicle (EV). Electric vehicle requires fast torque response and high efficiency of the drive. Speed sensorless FDTC In-wheel PMSM drives without mechanical speed sensors at the motor shaft have the attractions of low cost, quick response and high reliability in electric vehicle application. This paper presents a new approach to estimate the speed of in-wheel electrical vehicles based on Model Reference Adaptive System (MRAS). The direct torque control suffers in low speeds due to the effect of changes in stator resistance on the flux measurements. To improve the system performance at low speeds, a PI-fuzzy resistance estimator is proposed to eliminate the error due to changes in stator resistance. High performance sensorless drive of the in-wheel motor based on MRAS with on line stator resistance tuning is established for four motorized wheels electric vehicle and the whole system is simulated by matalb/simulink. The simulation results show the effectiveness of the new control strategy. This proposed control strategy is extensively used in electric vehicle application.

  • In this paper, we developed modeling of tension and speed dynamics for a two-drum winder in a three span continuous web transport system which had not been previously. Dynamic modeling of the time-varying nonlinear system was derived by considering the effect of the radii and mass moment of inertia in the unwinder and the two-drum winder through winding up the web. After linearizing it, we designed with a variable-gain a PID controller for tension control and a PI controller for speed. Simulation is carried out with the variation of radii and moment of inertia at high speed for the proposed tension control system with the two-drum winder and the variavle-gain a PID controller. Results show good performance of tension control during the speed change speed at a start-up and stop.
