  • Field of enantioseparations represents one of the actual topics of chemistry. Significant, in some cases dramatic differences in a desired activity as well as in toxic properties of enantiomers of chiral drugs, food additives, agrochemicals, cosmetic products, etc. represents a driving force in this field. The enantiomers of all chiral bioactive compounds have to be isolated and to be tested. Besides the ethical or environmental reasons for developing single enantiomers, it may be a real therapeutic benefit and in some cases, it has been used as a strategy for extending patent life. • It is the purpose of this study to help computational estimation study to settle down in effective teaching method through analysis how students are understanding computational estimation and what occurs using computational estimation in actual life problem situations. I set 3 cases to accomplish these purposes. (1) How students are understanding computational estimation? (2) How students' computational estimation ability is in applying actual life problem situation? (3) What is students' different attitudes in an actual life problem situation before studying computational estimation and after? To accomplish tile purpose, I chose 6 third grade students and taught 'Computational estimation using actual life problem situation' and analyzed students computational estimation processing. Then I arranged the computational estimation processing in an actual life problem situation and differences between the before and tile after. As a result, I obtained the followings. (1) Need of estimation: Every students could recognize the need of estimation with experiencing an actual life problem situation. (2) Choosing the order of decimals: Students could choose appropriate order of decimals according to an actual life problem situations. (3) Using strategy: They usually use rounding strategy and quite often use special number and compatible number strategy.

  • There have been more than 40,000 cases of fires in Korea in the last three years. However, as 'Accidental Fire Liability Act' was judged to be non-conform to the Constitution in 2007, the damages by light mistakes should be compensated. Accordingly, disputes such as compensation claims, litigations and indemnification cases of the victims of fire increased. However, it is so difficult for victims of fire cases to take proper action. So, this study is to help victims of fire cases in the disputes and compensation claims of the victims, and to find actual and practical support system based on the analysis of compensation status. To help victims of fire cases, we need to survey about victims of fire cases with multiple victims. That survey is analyzed to find support plan for victims. Furthermore, to find support plan the current law is needed to be analyzed and reviewed to revision. It is also tried to identify problems in the operation of the Center for victims of Fire currently operated by fire stations and to find countermeasures. In addition, the status of subscription and problem of fire insurance for the compensation for the victims and the method to increase fire insurance subscription rate will be studied.

  • Purpose: We analyzed our malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor (MPNST) cases to find out their oncologic results following by each treatment modalities. Materials and Methods: Thirty four patients with MPNST were registered in Korea Cancer Center Hospital from Feb. 1986 to Nov. 1996. Seventeen cases were male and 17, female. Average age was 41 years (range 18 to 74). Location of the tumor was as follows; 17 in lower extremity, 11 upper extremity, 4 trunk, and 2 retroperitoneum. Following the AJC classification, stage IA were 2 cases, stage IIA 2, stage IIB 6, stage III 16 and stage IV 8. Twenty six patients took operations and adjuvant chemotherapy and/or radiation therapy, 3 operation only and 3 adjuvant chemotherapy or radiation therapy. Average follow up period was 33.5 months (5.6 to 146.1). Kaplan-Meiyer method was done for survival curve, and log rank test for comparison analysis. Results: Fourteen cases were continuous disease free, 2 no evidence of disease, 2 alive with disease and 14 dead of disease states at final follow up. Actual 5-year and 10-year survival rates were 53.5%, 35.7%. Local recurrence rate after operation was 24.1%. 5-year survival rates of stage I/II/III were 100/85.7/55.9% and 2-year survival rate of stage IV was 14.3% (p=0.04). In 21 cases operated with stage II-III, wide margin (15cases) had 76.0% 5-year survival rate, and marginal or intralesional marigin (6cases) had 40.0%. The actual 5-year survival rate of the group which were done 4 or more cycles chemotherapy (8cases) was 71.4% and the actual 3-year survival rate less than 4cycles chemotherapy (6cases) was 83.3% (p=0.96). In 19 cases operated with stage II-III and which had no radiotherapy, marginal or intralesional margin (5cases) had 3 cases of local recurrences (60.0%), though wide margin (14cases) had 4 cases recurrences (28.6%). There was no local recurrence in 8cases which had pre-or post-operative radiotherapy. Conclusions: Surgical margin is an important factor in local recurrence. Resection margin has a tendency to influence the survival despite insufficient statistical significance. Conventional chemotherapy has no defnite statistical sigficance in the effect on local control and survival. Preoperative and postoperative radiotherapy has some positive effect on local control.

  • In the form of B2C transaction, making an on-line order by using the website increases rapidly. An off-line order at the whole sale outlets is geometrically increasing. However, it is so true that both types of market are showing a tendency to become computerization. As to apply this type of computerized B2B transaction to this kind of large scale wholesale outlets, the most important fact to be considered is that there must have no data error. In addition to this, an accurate counting of actual stock is a precondition to decide a suitable amount of production and a timely delivery of goods. In this study, reducing elements of the risk that may create a difference In between actual stock and that in the computer, the integrated B2B ordering system is designed by taking actual cases an example in order to manage the information for a sale, which is conducted by various system in the large scale wholesale outlets such as E-mart, Carefour or the same kinds.

  • The purpose of this study is one of high price medical equipment wished to grasp propriety factor about the MRI introduction, analyzing payability through cost accounting into compensation. It was investigated from January 1 to December 31, 2007 about the MRI of a General Hospital. Expectation availability was 23.2 cases, but actual availability did achievement more than 196.1% with 45.5 items. It is estimated that there are a lot of occurrence cases because great reasons that actual availability increases more than expectation availability is excellent resolving power than a CT, and is device that prefer to reason back that radiation damage is less in person body. The followings show the main results of this study. 1. The MRI was construed in order of cost accounting, wave and personnel expenses 45.4%, administrative expenses 53.0%, and material costs 1.6%. 2. According to CVP (Cost-volume-profit) analysis, BEP (Break Even Point) profit is 173,931,428 won for 11 months, and break even usage number of items are 37.5 cases, and separation usage number of items were confirmed by 1.4 cases. Therefore, was construed that can achieve BEP within 11 months though usage number of items keeps 1.4 items day to create the MRI's hospital operation profit. 3. Estimated limit profitability appears high by 96.7%, exceed fixed charges even if when is non-benefit and when it is benefit consider variable, is judged that the MRI's addition induction helps in hospital management enhancing earning rates.

  • Background: To improve postoperative outcomes associated with interstitial pneumonia (IP) in patients with lung cancer, the management of the postoperative acute exacerbation of IP (PAEIP) was investigated. Methods: Patients with primary lung cancer were considered to be at risk for PAEIP (possible PAEIP) based on a preoperative evaluation. The early phase of this study was from January 2001 to December 2008, and the late phase was from January 2009 to December 2014. In the early phase, chest computed tomography (CT) was performed for patients for whom PAEIP was suspected based on their symptoms, whereas in the late phase, chest CT was routinely performed within a few days postoperatively. The numbers of possible PAEIP cases, actual PAEIP cases, and deaths within 90 days due to PAEIP were compared between both phases. Results: In the early and late phases, surgery was performed in 712 and 617 patients, 31 and 72 possible PAEIP cases were observed, nine and 12 actual PAEIP cases occurred, and the mean interval from the detection of PAEIP to starting treatment was $7.3{\pm}2.3$ and $5.0{\pm}1.8$ days, respectively. Five patients died in the early phase, and one patient died in the late phase. Significantly fewer PAEIP-related deaths were observed in the late phase (p<0.05). Conclusion: Identifying patients at risk for PAEIP by routine postoperative CT examinations led to the early diagnosis and treatment of PAEIP, resulting in the reduction of PAEIP-related mortality.
