This study aims to understand the meaning that learning of the old age has, through old age learners who augustly live after retirement-life so called successful silver years. Qualitative research methods is used for analyzing the contents of articles about 15 old age learners and the results are follows below. First, the retirement has dual meaning for the old learners. One is they experienced psychological and emotional insecurity after retirement and the other is it is a turning point for them to realize their longtime dream. Second, the old age learners showed enthusiasm about learning and they voluntarily found the way of success in their silver years. Finally, the old age learners working in new career with provocative and enthusiastic attitude work as a role model of successful old age life and show how they progress. This study argued that we need to consider the old as active agents and the old age as the time when productive and continuous learning can be done. In addition, this study strongly insisted that we need to realize the importance of 'education by the elderly' and social and other relevant conditions are needed to be established immediately.

The development of ICT and the popularization of smart devices are affecting not only politics, economics and culture but also even education. Smart education, a concept that promotes active learning based on the latest mobile technology, is being noted for a new paradigm in education of the $21^{st}$ century. The aim of this study was to develop a mobile application, Smart Medical Terminology(SMT), allows health science students to learn medical terminology anytime, anywhere, easily and conveniently. The SMT makes learners interested in and motivated to learn medical terminology. It also provides various learning methods that enable self-direction learning in accordance with the level of learners.

This qualitative research provides a situation model, which is designed for promoting learning of eigenvalue and eigenvector. This study also demonstrates the usefulness of the model through a small groups discussion. Particularly, participants of the discussion were asked to decide the numbers of milk cows in order to make constant amounts of cheese production. Through such discussions, subjects understood the notion of eigenvalue and eigenvector. This study has following implications. First of all, the present research finds significance of situation model. A situation model is useful to promote learning of mathematical notions. Subjects learn the notion of eigenvalue and eigenvector through the situation model without difficulty. In addition, this research demonstrates potentials of small groups discussion. Learners participate in discussion more actively under small group debates. Such active interaction is necessary for situation model. Moreover, this study emphasizes the role of teachers by showing that patience and encouragement of teachers promote students' feeling of achievement. The role of teachers are also important in conveying a meaning of eigenvalue and eigenvector. Therefore, this study concludes that experience of learning the notion of eigenvalue and eigenvector thorough situation model is important for teachers in future.

As exchanges and cooperation of political, economic, social, and cultural aspects among nations are recently vigorous, recognition of the global world has increased. In order to nurture the right talent in this era of globalization, transition into appropriate education for the global age beyond the state centered curriculum is required. Due to the recent explosive spread of smart devices, a new educational paradigm of smart training has emerged. Global learning can be effectively supported in the smart educational environment that entails brisk interactions, active participation and cooperation in a highly connected society. In this research, we suggest an instructional model for effectively supporting global learning in smart learning environments.

Purpose: This study was done to apply a PBL module for students' practice in maternity nursing. Method: Two PBL module scenarios were made for clinical cases in antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum nursing care. A total of 70 senior nursing students of S university were enrolled in this module for their scheduled 3 weeks of practice. A structured questionnaire and subjective statements were collected for evaluation. Result: The students' perceptions of PBL were found to be effective in encouraging motivation and interest in studying, absorbing practical knowledge better, and learning through interaction with tutors. They became more confident, active, and positive throughout the PBL experiences while a lack of time for learning was a limitation. Conclusion: PBL is considered a method that can strengthen nursing students' abilities to adjust to clinical situations in maternity areas. It is recommended to expand PBL in nursing practice courses and develop various scenarios and qualified tutors.

The purpose of this study was to develope the education program using multimedia for endocrine disruptor, and to examine the learning effects of it on high school students. The subjects were 70 tenth grade students in the academic high school located in Chungnam. With dividing them into two groups: the controlled group and the experimental one, lessons were executed respectively. Total average of achievement was significantly different between control and experimental groups. Using multimedia learning can be effective in improving in terms of knowledge achievement. Meaningful difference did appear from almost, but did not appear between using multimedia materials group and traditional approach to tuition classes. The most of experimental group students were interesting of the education program using multimedia, and thought that multimedia learning materials were helpful to understand the lesson about endocrine disruptor. And experimental group students were more active and positive in the lesson using multimedia than in the traditional ones. By providing students with the proper learning materials that go with their traits and preference, the educational environments that students can take part in the class more positively and actively should be provided.

Nowadays, active teachers expend much time and effort in preparing for classes. Especially, the basic formative calsses in art education have much effect when they are done with a lot of material(plaster casts, etc.) and lighting effect, but not in real. Proposed web-based learning instrument makes possible basic formative classes with simple operation by loading several materials and lighting operator on the web. In this paper, we propose web-based learning instrument to improve basic formative classes. Students will easily be able to express shadow and shade by lights with this web-based learning instrument in basic formative classes.

The core purpose of the system proposed in this paper is to help learners pursue proactive and self-oriented education by allowing learners to proactively configure their own content, that is, learners no longer have to be restricted by prescribed sequence of lectures. Although a variety of standardization and Learning Management System (LMS) were produced to develop and effectively manage web contents in response to active diffusion of internet application, practical changes to assist online learners are not yet to be found. In this paper, I would like to introduce a LMS that can support self-leading education by providing various types of learners at Virtual University with delicately organized educational contents for maximum efficiency. The system allows a learner to select a lecture or a chapter which has been presorted to meet his educational needs and intellectual ability. In general, most LMSs cannot meet every individual's educational needs because they structure their programs by letting learners simply choose from a list of available lectures at prescribed level or difficulty. However the Self-Leading LMS eliminates such boundaries by allowing learners to choose contents and difficulty within the limit set by their own educational competence.

Inactive region means a region filled with invalid pixel values to represent a specific image. Generally, inactive regions are occurred when the non-rectangular formatted images are converted to the rectangular shaped image, especially when 3D images are represented in 2D format. Because these inactive regions highly degrade the compression efficiency, filtering approaches are often applied to the boundaries between active and inactive regions. However, the image characteristics are not carefully considered during filtering. In the proposed method, inactive regions are padded through reinforcement learning that can consider the compression process and the image characteristics. Experimental results show that the proposed method performs an average of 3.4% better than the conventional padding method.

The processes of informatization of the modern educational space are inextricably linked with the active introduction of innovative information technologies, which diversify the forms of education and upbringing. The use of these technologies in education due to their specific properties significantly enhances the clarity of learning, emotional impact on students, helps to deepen interdisciplinary links, intensifies students' work, and improves the organization of educational activities. Innovative information technologies offer new opportunities for the use of text, audio, graphic, and video information in lessons, enriching the methodological possibilities of the lesson. Today, the use of these technologies is becoming an integral part of the study of any subject. Using multimedia presentations, publications, and websites created by students in the learning process, they can develop learning skills. According to researchers, there are many multimedia programs for working with a computer in a music lesson, namely: a music player, a program for singing karaoke, a music constructor, music encyclopedias, and training programs. The introduction of innovative information technologies in the system of music education allows expanding learning opportunities.
