In this study, Ultraviolet (UV) curable urethane acrylates for ink binder was prepared by reaction of IPDI, polyether polyol and HEA. The UV curing behavior of compositions with HEA/PETA ratio on UV irradiation time was investigated by FT-IR spectrophotometer, probe tack tester and Photo-DSC. Conversion % and gel content were increased with increasing UV irradiation time, but probe tack was decreased. Storage modulus, tensile strength and decomposition temperature were increased as PETA content increased. In case of HEA/PETA ratio was 30/70, adhesion property of UV-cured composition on PMMA sheet was excellent.

The utilization of wastepaper as a papermaking raw material is everlastingly required for the environmental protection of earth. However the recycling of wastepaper for this purpose cause another problem such as the increasing of the load of wastewater treatment, lower strength properties of paper, and poor printability, etc. The interest in the development of the environmentally friendly deinking technology is increased continuously. Thus, our research team have tried to apply the ozone to the deinking of white ledger and ONP, and obtained the positive results which can be considered as an alternative method for the conventional deinking method. The purpose of this study is to investigate the mechanism of ozone deinking. Styrene acrylate and polystyrene were treated with ozone and measured the change of molecular weight with the GPC. The molecular weight distribution obtained with GPC showed only slight increase by the ozone treatment, and gel formation by the polymerization was observed. Therefore the removal of ink particles with ozone treatment seems to be facilitated by the increase of the brittleness and decrease of adhesive property.
The binder polymers for digital textile printing(DTP) pigment inks were prepared using miniemulsion polymerization with various monomer compositions to study effects of monomer compositions on particle size distribution, average molecular weight, Tg, and color strength and rubbing fastness of the dyed fabrics with the prepared binder based pigment ink. The monomers used were MMA(Methyl methacrylate), BA(Butyl acrylate), MAA(Methacrylic acid), NMA(N-methylol acrylamide), NEA(N-ethylol acrylamide) and the ratios of the monomers were changed. The particle size was the smallest with 136nm when the MMA to BA weight ratio was 4:16 and the largest with 290nm when the MMA, BA, MAA, NEA ratio was 2.5:17:0.25:0.25. However, the glass transition temperature was lowest with $-41.90^{\circ}C$ and the color strength and rubbing fastness of the resulting sample were the best when the MMA, BA, MAA, NEA ratio was used. This suggested that the introduction of the NEA monomer to the binder polymer for the pigment ink could be an efficient way to enhance the rubbing fastness of the DTP pigment inks present.
To improve rubbing fastness of the printed fabrics, the binder polymers for Digital Textile Printing(DTP) pigment inks were synthesized with miniemulsion polymerization using various acrylic monomers, which are MMA(Methyl methacrylate), BA(Butyl acrylate), and Self-crosslinking monomers, such as NEA(N-Ethylol acrylamide) and MAA (Methacrylic acid). The acrylic monomer compositions were varied when synthesizing the binder polymers and their particle size distributions, average molecular weights, and Tgs were investigated. The prepared binder polymers were applied to prepare Cyan, Black, Yellow and Magenta pigment ink for DTP and the prepared inks were used to dye cotton fabrics. Then, color strength, and rubbing fastness were also investigated to study the effect of the comonomer compositions of the binder polymer on the color strength and rubbing fastness of the resulting pigment inks.

In this study, when printed on a nylon material, the color strength and fastness are lower than that of a polyester material, and the nylon material shrinks due to heat and pressure, resulting in poor design and poor compatibility. To overcome this problem, we investigated the possibility of transfer DTP by adding pre-treatment process to nylon transfer DTP process. For the basic study of pre-treatment preparation, we used pure nylon material which is not compounded and dispersion ink and transfer paper applied to existing PET transfer DTP. Pre-treatment preparations were classified into three types of acryl-base polymer and pre-treated with nylon and then applied to transfer DTP to confirm their color strength and fastness. The color strength of the pre-treated nylon material increased and poly-methyl-acrylate amulsion pre-treatment showed the best color at $210^{\circ}C$, 1.5m/min and 0.3MPa. The nylon material pre-treated with washing, friction, and light fastness was judged to be more excellent and stable.
New photoinitiator systems of dimethylphenacylsulfonium butyltnphenylborate (DMPSB) as a donor-acceptor initiator and styryl dyes have been investigated for free radical polymerization of an acrylate with visible lasers (488, 514 and 647 nm). DMPSB was able to be sensitized by many styryl dyes. When polymerized with pentaerythrithol triacrylate, the sensitivity value of the photosensitive layer containing DMPSB was higher than that of an tetrabutylammonium butyltnphenylborate (TBAB) as an electron donating initiator or a dimethylphenacylsulfonium tetrafiuoroborate (DMPS) as an electron accepting initiator. The sensitivity values of the photosensitive layer containing the photoinitiator systems had a close relation to the free energy changes between the excited singlet styryl dyes and DMPSB.
This study investigated effect of particle sizes of polymer binders for digital textile printing(DTP) pigment inks on touch of fabrics. The polymer binders were synthesized via miniemulsion polymerization of methyl methacrylate(MMA), butyl acrylate(BA), N-ethylolacrylamide(NEA) and methacrylic acid(MAA). The prepared binders were applied to black pigment inks and those black pigment inks were used to dye cotton fabrics. Then, color strength, rubbing fastness, stiffness, surface and bending properties of the dyed fabrics were investigated. Depending on the particle size of the polymer binder used, color strength, friction fastness, stiffness, surface and bending properties change. Generally, the larger the particle size of the polymer binder, the softer properties.
As the usuage of tempered glass for touch panel increased rapidly with the development of industry, the amount of UV curable coating solution used to protect glass surfaces during a tempered glass manufacturing process increased as well. The UV curable coating has advantages compared to thermal curing such as shortened curing time and non-solvent. Appropriated polymer and monomer were used as an acid polymer to grant an alkali peeling ability. The monomers were 2-hydroxyl methylacrylate, 1,6-hexanediol diacrylate and dipentaerythritol hexaacrylate which have acryl groups of 1, 2, and 6, respectively. The combination of three different types of photoinhibitors were used and bisphenol A epoxy diacrylate was used as an oligomer. In this study, experiments were carried out by controlling the amount of photoinitiator, oligomer, and additive while maintaining the constant content of the acid polymer and the acrylic monomer. The changes in physical properties according to the additive content were investigated. It was found that the combination of photoinitiators was necessary to achieve the hardness above 4H and it was possible to control the delamination type of the coating film from a sheet to pieces by the addition of TPO as an initiator. The increase in oligomer contents increased the hardness and adhesiveness alongside dissection time. Talc content of 20 wt% showed the best results.

In the direct digital textile printing process, the pre-treatment process is an essential condition for products by forming a clear pattern by sticking and penetration of DTP dye without spreading on the fabric. Recently, pre-treatment agent is changing from high viscosity to low viscosity in order to reduce defects of fabric during pre-treatment process. In this study, pre-treatment agent of acrylic polymer with low viscosity(less than 50cps) was prepared according to the solid content of the polymer, pre-treated on the cotton fabric, and direct DTP printing was performed to compare the color and sharpness. As a result, it showed high color at a viscosity of 50cps or less. When the solid content of the polyacrylic acid having a high molecular weight(A1) was 2.5wt%, when the solid content of the polyacrylic acid having a low molecular weight(A2) was 1 - 1.5wt%, the color was the best. And when the solid content of A1 and A2 was 1.5wt%, the degree of spreading was small and A1 was superior to A2 at the sharpness.
