This paper aims to provide empirical evidence required to describe the level of achievement by analyzing students' item response in NAEP implemented in the United States in 2001. The geography assessment in the NAEP is aimed to test students of 4th, 8th, and 12th grades, and consists of content dimension and cognitive dimension, The former includes 'space and place' 'environment and society' and 'spatial dynamics and connections,' and the latter includes 'knowing' 'understanding' and 'applying,' The level of achievement is defined as three levels for each grade: Basic, Proficient, and Advanced. In this paper, descriptions of achievement is derived inductively from an analysis of student's responses to the items which were selected by using item-mapping method. As a result, there is a great difference between the level of achievement derived empirically from students' response and the level of achievement designed principally suggested by the expert committee. The former could have a contribution to the improvement in geography curriculum.
The purpose of the study is to investigate the impact and analyze the effect of smart learning based class to on the students with low academic achievement level. The study performed in G University in 2018 among students taking calculus II class. It includes 16 students with low academic achievement level, whose grades were under C in the previous calculus I class. They belonged to special class consisted of very low academic achievement level and had to pass calculus II. 3D and AR were actively used in the class. The result shows that they got visual understanding of space, which revealed through analyzing SNS, mid-term and final examination, lecture evaluation. Also, smart learning based mathematics class utilizing smartphone's application elevated academic achievement level and influenced positively on the interest and attitude toward mathematics regardless of previous academic achievement level.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the academic achievement characteristics in terms of proficiency levels through the in-depth analysis of mathematics test items and achievement standards of the National Assessment of Educational Achievement(NAEA) from 2010 to 2012, and to provide suggestions for teaching and assessing mathematics in middle schools. The results showed that 'Advanced level' students could fully understand the concept of mathematical terms and symbols as well as various mathematical properties presented in the national curriculum. However, 'Proficient level' students tended to feel difficult to apply linear function, properties of a plane figure, and a solid figure, while 'Basic level' students seemed to have trouble solving mathematical problems in almost all areas. Thus, it is necessary to identify the mathematical misconceptions that students have and to strengthen teaching, particularly, the areas of number and operation.

The purpose of this study was to find out effect of problem solving by mental demand of items and chunking level of problem solver on the item. The principal findings of study were as follows ; 1) According to increase of mental demand of items. students' achievement score appeared to decrease and the more mental demand an item needed. the higher or at least the same hierarchical item was. These results showed that mental demand of item was main factor which decided difficulties of problem solving. 2) Though items have the same mental demand. students' achievement score were different between balance beam task and 2nd law task (achievement score of balance beam task < achievement score of 2nd law task). 3) Achievement score of LM group who used chunked knowledge to solve balance beam task were higher than non LM group who used non chunked knowledge. 4) The level of chunked knowledge was different between two tasks when non LM group solved items of two tasks. On the other hand, LM group used the same level of chunked knowledge to solve items of two tasks. 5) Achievement score of non LM group was the same between items of two tasks after treatment due to chunking effect by treatment. But achievement score of LM group didn't change before and after treatment. The chunking effect by treatment had an effect on non LM group, but it was not on LM group.

The purposes of this study were to analyze the frequency and type of volition strategy, according to achievement level, employed by students with high learning motivation, and to identify the role volition strategy plays in keeping students motived to learn science. To accomplish these aims, two groups of students(each containing three members) were selected. Students in the two groups both had the same cognitive level and high learning motivation. However, one group's science achievement was high, and the other was low. Through interviews and class observations, volition strategies students in the two groups used when they encountered hindrances in science learning were compared. Results of the study revealed a relationship between achievement level and volition strategy. Students showed differences in the frequency and types of volition strategies used according to science achievement. It was found that students with higher achievement levels used volition strategies more often to overcome hindrances in science learning than those with lower achievement levels. Furthermore, students with higher achievement levels generally used internal mind control strategies while those with lower achievement levels used environmental control strategies. Lastly, findings found that the types of volition strategies used by lower achievement level students were very limited.
The purpose of the present study was to investigate the effects maternal employment history, achievement motivation and gender egalitarianism in job on university students' negative beliefs about the consequences of maternal employment. A total of 338 university students in Seoul, Kyungki, and Kyungnam area, provided information for the study. Analyses results showed that male students had higher level of negative beliefs about the consequences of maternal employment and achievement motivation and lower level of gender egalitarianism in job than female students did. Mothers' history of employment during the student's middle and high school period and higher job egalitarianism predicted lower negative beliefs about maternal employment. As male and female students were compared, male students with history of mothers' employment, lower level of achievement motivation and higher level of gender egalitarianism showed low level of negative beliefs about maternal employment. For female students, mothers' employment significantly predicted their beliefs about negative consequences of maternal employment.
Inter-Organizational Cooperation is the most common and important strategy in modern public and privet sectors managerial activities. In this paper the concepts of inter-organizational cooperation means not selfish cooperation as in the game circumstance and theory, but general collaborative action between organizations, they have share same goal. The achievement level of jointed-goal of inter-organization is depended upon the performance of cooperation, which resulted from the conditions and circumstances of cooperation. This paper analyses the effect of inter-organizational cooperation on achievement level of the jointed goal between two organizations with computer simulation model of the system dynamics approach. In the computer simulation model, three factors, goal perception, communication, and control, are considered as a key conditions of cooperation, which impact on the performance of cooperation. Simulation model was constructed with focus on the dynamic interactions between these three factors and the achievement level of jointed-goal. Consequently, the results found in this paper may provide further grounds for reducing the time delay that included in the conditions of cooperation.

This study investigated the influences of the cooperative and the individualistic learning strategies on the academic achievement and the attitudes toward science instruction and science by the level of achievement. These two learning strategies endowed students with the responsibility of learning and emphasized student-centered learning which included higher order thinking activities. Cooperative learning group students studied the tasks through small group discussion, and individualistic learning group students solved the same ones individually. In the traditional group. teacher-centered expository lesson was used. The subjects of this study were 7th graders of coed middle school, and were taught about separation of mixture for 10 class periods. Two-way ANCOVA results revealed that the test scores of academic achievement for cooperative learning group were significantly higher than those of individualistic and traditional learning groups. The attitudes toward science instruction and science were also more positive in cooperative learning group than the others. No interactions between the treatment and the level of previous achievement indicated that the cooperative learning strategy was effective regardless of the level of achievement.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of the group reward and cooperative skill training on science achievement and learning motivation of elementary students. 3 classes of the 6th grade students were selected from an elementary school in Busan. Group I took traditional cooperative learning (TCL), group II took cooperative learning with competitive group reward (GR), and group III was trained in cooperative skill (CS) before cooperative learning. Students were taught about 'weather forecast' for thirteen periods and problem-based learning steps were applied in each class. The results from this study were as follows: First, there was an interactive effect between the treatment and achievement level in the science achievement test scores. In the case of high-level students the group reward was more effective than cooperative skill training on the science achievement; on the other hand, in the case of low-level students the cooperative skill training was more effective than the group reward on the science achievement. Second, there was no interactive effect between the treatment and achievement level in the motivation scores.
Purpose: Business education is in high demand whereas knowledge is critical for an individual's professional development in general, and for teachers in particular. In this research, the effect of the distributions of teachers' business knowledge on schools' achievement were investigated. Research design, data and methodology: This study employs a quantitative method to investigate the level of business knowledge distributions of teachers on schools' achievement. 155 business studies subject teachers were categorised into 66 respective schools to measure the correlation and regression between teachers' business knowledge distribution and schools' achievement. Results: The results of the study show that there is a significant relationship between school achievement from the aspect of teachers' business knowledge distributions, with the score of, r = 0.345, p < 0.05. The value of R2 shows a moderate relationship between the teachers' knowledge distributions on school achievement but still plays a role in determining the measurement of the school's level of achievement. Conclusions: It is concluded that the relationship between teacher's business knowledge and school achievement in the subject of Business Studies is significant. This study proves that the teacher's knowledge about business is very important in guaranteeing the success of students who took this subject.
