TiO2 코팅 석탄회 복합체의 기상 Acetaldehyde 광분해 특성 (Photocatalytic Degradation of Gaseous Acetaldehyde through TiO2-Coated Fly Ash Composites)

  • The photocatalyst of $TiO_2$ coated on a fly ash composites (TCF) was prepared from precipitant dropping method to remove the acetaldehyde by photocatalytic reaction. The TCF were characterized by crystal aize, crystal structure and specific surface area. The photodegradation of acetaldehyde has been investigated using a UV-illuminated fixed photocatalytic reactor with TCF catalyst and P-25 catalyst in gas phase. The effect of photodegradation reaction conditions, such as initial concentration of acetaldehyde, concentration of oxidant in mixed gas and the light intensity on the photodegradation of acetaldehyde were investigated. P-25 catalyst showed the highest photodegradation of acetaldehyde and anatase $TiO_2$ coated TCF showed higher decomposition rate than rutile coated TCF. The photodegradation rate of acetaldehyde increased with the decrease of flow rate, initial concentration of acetaldehyde ($C_i$) and water vapor, however, it was increased with the increas of UV light intensity. The optimum conditions were weight of TCF=10 g, flow rate=50 ml/min $C_i$=100 ppm, concentration of oxygen=20%, concentration of water vapor=100 ppm.

  • Objectives Alcohol is metabolized to acetaldehyde by alcohol dehydrogenase enzyme in the liver and then acetaldehyde is metabolized to acetone by aldehyde dehydrogenase (ALDH) in the liver. There are two main ALDH enzymes which metabolize the acetaldehyde produced during ethanol oxidation. In particular, in the presence of the ALDH2 1*2 allele, the activity of the ALDH 2 enzyme is lowered. As a result, acetaldehyde metabolism is slowed down and acetaldehyde accumulates in the body compared to the ALDH2 1*1 allele. There are many studies that have investigated the blood acetaldehyde concentration according to the ALDH2 genotype, but there are few studies to compare this with age. So we investigated the blood acetaldehyde concentration according to ALDH2 genotype, age and gender. Methods According to the ALDH2 genotype, we divided the group by gender and age. We divided the age group in to three groups which ranged from 20 to 34 years old, from 35 to 49 years old, and lastly from 50 to 64 years old. And then we collected blood samples after 15 min, 30 min, 1 hr, 2 hr, 3 hr, 4 hr, 5 hr and 15 hr of after drinking to measure the blood acetaldehyde concentration. Results In ALDH2 1*2 allele group, there are significant differences of the blood acetaldehyde concentration between the age groups. In ALDH2 1*2 allele and male group, there are significant differences of the blood acetaldehyde concentration between the age groups. Conclusions There are significant differences of the blood acetaldehyde concentration between the age groups according to ALDH2 genotype. Also, there are significant differences of the blood acetaldehyde concentration between the age groups with male gender and ALDH2 1*2 allele. Studies about other factors that may influence the blood acetaldehyde concentration are needed.

Effects of Plant Vinegar Extract on the Reduction of Blood Concentration of Alcohol and Acetaldehyde in Alcohol Administrated Rats

  • Excessive drinking causes 'alcohol hangover' within 8-16 hours. The cause of 'hangover' has not been elucidated exactly until now, but it is reported that it is caused by the creation of blood ethanol and acetaldehyde as ethanol metabolites. In this study vinegar extract of wood (VE) or OC-1, to which the powder extract of green tea leaves extract is added, was administered to the rats 30 minutes before the oral administration of ethanol (3 g/kg) and the blood ethanol and acetaldehyde concentration was measured in order to evaluate the efficacy of the beverage material for detoxification. As a result, the blood ethanol concentration in the group of the VE-1(vinegar crude extract) and VE-2 (double diluted solution) is statistically lower (P,0.05) than the exclusive alcohol administered control group. The blood acetaldehyde concentration of all groups of VE and OC-2, which is the double dilution of OC-1, is statistically low after 7 hours following ethanol administration. Especially, the AUC value of OC-2 group is statistically low compared to the control group. Accordingly, it indicates the conclusion that VE and OC-1, reducing the blood ethanol and acetaldehyde concentration which are two leading factors of 'hangover' after drinking, and worthwhile to be developed as beverage materials to eliminate 'hangover'.

회분식 광촉매반응기를 이용한 아세트알데하이드와 MEK 제거특성 연구 (Photocatalytic Degradation of Acetaldehyde and MEK using Batch Type Photo-Reactor)

  • 본 휘발성유기화합물인 아세트알데하이드와 MEK(methylethylketone)의 광촉매분해특성을 회분식 광반응기를 이용하여 연구하였다. 광촉매분해반응의 주요 반응변수인 아세트알데하이드와 MEK의 초기농도, 수분함량, 그리고 반응온도의 영향을 조사하였다. 아세트알데하이드와 MEK의 광촉매 분해속도에서 어느 일정농도까지는 초기농도가 증가할수록 증가하나, 그 이상에서는 완만한 증가형태를 보이며, 분해반응형태는 Langmuir-Hinselwood 모델이었다. 아세트알데하이드와 MEK의 광분해반응에 있어 수분은 inhibitor 역할을 수행하였다. 그리고 아세트알데하이드와 MEK 분해반응에 있어 최적의 반응온도는 $45^{\circ}C$이었다.

당귀추출물 전처치가 Rat의 혈중 알코올 및 알데히드 농도에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of the Extract of Angelica gigas on the Serum Alcohol and Acetaldehyde Concentration in Rats)

  • Objectives : Our study was designed to assess whether the extract of Angelica gigas can lower serum alcohol and acetaldehyde concentration in drunken rats. Methods : We divided Sprague-Dawley male rats into 3 groups of a Vehicle control, Positive control and Angelica gigas group. Serum alcohol and acetaldehyde levels were checked at baseline, 0.5, 1, 2 and 4 hours after drinking ethanol. Independent t-test was performed to assess the difference of the serum concentrations between the Angelica gigas induced group and the control group. Results : Angelica gigas lowered the serum acetaldehyde concentration. However, it did not lower alcohol concentration effect. Conclusions : We assume that Angelica gigas could be effective for alcohol induced hangover.

냉동건조방법에 의한 Acetaldehyde 고정에 관한 연구 (Studies on the Fixation of Acetaldehyde by Freeze Drying)

  • 선택된 당류 및 전분 가수분해 물질을 기질로 사용하여 냉동건조에 의하며 acetaldehyde을 고정시키는 방법을 연구하였다. 단순기질 보다는 복합기질이 일반적으로 acetaldehyde를 고정시키는 능력이 좋았고. 특히 mannitol+lactose가 고정능력 면에서 가장 우수했다. 그리고 경계성 등을 고려할 때 mannitol+maltodextrin이 공업적으로 acetaldehyde를 고정하는데 적당할 것으로 평가됐다. 일반적으로, 기질 농도가 증가함에 따라 건조 중 acetaldehyde손실이 감소하였으며, 기질 농도 40%일 때 mannitol+maltodextrin 기질의 acetaldehyde 고정 능력이 가장 좋았다. 냉동건조 방법으로 acetaldehyde를 고정할 경우 건조실 압력이 낮을수록 건조 중 acetaldehyde 손실이 감소했다. 그러나 대량생산을 목적으로 할 때에는 0.5 Torr이하의 압력을 유지하는데 건조경비 부당이 과다하므로, 0.5 Torr정도의 건조실 압력을 유지하는 것이 적당할 것으로 평가됐다.

  • Ethanol, Acetic acid 및 Acetaldehyde를 단일 탄소원으로 하여 Candida sP. JY-5 효모의 증식특성을 batch culture를 통해 검토하였다. Ethanol상에서 이 효모의 지수적 증식기 동안의 비증식도 ($\mu$) 값은 농도가 0.5g/l 이상일 경우 그 초기 농도에 따라 변화하나 비례하지는 않았다. 최대 비증식도는 0.291$hr^{-1}$이었고 최대 증식수율은 10g/l 농도에서 61.2 %이었다. Acetic acid상에서의 비증식도는 이 기질의 초기 농도에 관계없이 일정하였으며 그 값이 0.106$hr^{-1}$. 최대 증식수율은 10g/l 농도에서 46.8%로 나타났다. 한편 Acetaldehyde 기질에서 지수적 증식기 동안의 최대 비증식도는 0. 063$hr^{-1}$이었고 최대 증식수율은 0.2g/l 농도에서 44.9%였다.

흰쥐에서 Acetaldehyde 대사에 미치는 복어추출물의 영향 (The Effect of Puffer Fish Extract on the Acetaldehyde Metabolism in Rat)

  • The present stduy was undertaken to investigate the possible effect of Puffer fish skin extract (Pf) on the heptic acetaldehyde metabolism . It was obsrved that PF markedly decreased the acetaldehyde levels in blood and liver. The activity of mitochondrial aldehyde dehydrogenase (Ald DH) increased by induction of acute intoxicatiion of alcohol (5 g/kg) was further increased through pretreatment with PF for 2 weeks. When PF was given to rat fed with 25% alcohol solution instead of water for 6 weeks. the activity of Ald DH in mitochondrial fraction decreased to about 28% compared with sucrose-treated group. But after pretreatemnt of PF, the activity was restored to the normal level. By the treatment with disulfiram (300 mg/kg, once a day for 3days) was restored to the control after the pretreatment with PF. And also mitochondrial Ald DH activity in vitro was not changed. All these observations suggest that reduction of acetaldehyde levels are partly due to increase activity of mitochondrial Ald DH. Therefore, the recovery from intoxication of acetaldehyde may be enhanced by treatment with PF.

  • Rhodotorula sp. Y -55 효모의 중식특성을 etha nol, acetic acid 또는 acetaldehyde 상에서 batch culture로 조사하였다. 기질농도가 중가함에 따라 중식수율이 감소하고 유도기가 연장되었다. 비성장속도(${\mu}$)는 지수기에서 ethanol과 acetaldehyde의 초기농도에 따라 변화하였으나 acetic acid는 이와 상관이 없었으며 그 값은 $O.107h^{-1}$로 나타났다. 최대 비성장속도는 20g/L의 ethanol에서 $O.270h^{-1}$, O.2g/L의 acetaldehyde에서 $O.041h^{-1}$이었다. 또 최대 중식수융은 109/L의 ethanol에서 32.6%, 20g/L의 a acetic acid에서 25.6%와 O.2g/L의 acetaldehyde 에서 45%였다. 세포내 조단백질과 핵산 함량은 e­t thanol상에서 각각 41.5wt%와 4.9wt %였고 acetic acid상에서는 각각 40.2wt %와 4.7wt%로 나타났다.

  • Effects of $Biozyme_{R}$ and $\textrm{Business}_{R}$ on alcohol metabolism in rats, and on the activities of alcohol dehydrogenase(ADH) and acetaldehyde dehydrogenase(ALDH) were studied in vitro. Alcohol concentration in rat blood was decreased after the treatment of Business(3.3 mι/kg, Biozyme 1.67 mg/wι) and Biozyme(3.3 mι/kg, 1.67 mg/mι) prior to the administration of ethanol(25%, 0.83 g/kg). And the acetaldehyde concentration of rat blood was also decreased when compared with control values in the same condition. Effects of Biozyme on ADH and ALDH activity were also studied. While the ALDH activity was elevated in the presence of Biozyme(2 $\mu\textrm{g}$/assay), the ADH activity was not influenced by Biozyme at the concentration range from 2 $\mu\textrm{g}$/assay to 0.2 mg/assay. In summary, Biozyme accelerated the rate of ethanol metabolism and the acceleration might be due to the increase in ALDH activity.vity.
