Improvement of OPW-TR Algorithm for Compressing GPS Trajectory Data

  • Massive volumes of GPS trajectory data bring challenges to storage and processing. These issues can be addressed by compression algorithm which can reduce the size of the trajectory data. A key requirement for GPS trajectory compression algorithm is to reduce the size of the trajectory data while minimizing the loss of information. Synchronized Euclidean distance (SED) as an important error measure is adopted by most of the existing algorithms. In order to further reduce the SED error, an improved algorithm for open window time ratio (OPW-TR) called local optimum open window time ratio (LO-OPW-TR) is proposed. In order to make SED error smaller, the anchor points are selected by calculating point's accumulated synchronized Euclidean distance (ASED). A variety of error metrics are used for the algorithm evaluation. The experimental results show that the errors of our algorithm are smaller than the existing algorithms in terms of SED and speed errors under the same compression ratio.

Flow Divider Valve의 최적설계를 위한 동특성 해석 (Dynamic Characteristics Analysis for Optimal Design of Flow Divider Valve)

  • Flow divider valve는 한 개의 공급라인에서 두 개 이상의 출력라인으로 유압유를 일정비율로 분배하는 유압제어밸브로서 하중압력이나 공급압력 등에 관계없이 항상 일정비율의 유량분배가 가능해야 한다. 현재 상용제품의 유량분할 정확도는 90~95% 수준이며, 이러한 유량분할오차(Flow dividing error)는 유압시스템에 누적오차로 작용하여 많은 문제점을 야기시키고 있어 보다 고정밀 유량제어가 가능한 Flow divider valve 개발이 요구된다. 본 연구에서는 외력을 고려한 스푸울의 거동을 수치적으로 정확하게 조사하여 Flow divider valve의 동특성을 규명함과 동시에 유량분할 오차를 감소시키는 최적설계방안을 제시하고자 한다. 동특성 해석은 일정한 하중저항을 입력신호로 작용하는 경우에 대해서 제시하였으며, 이때의 고정오리피스와 가변오리피스의 단면적 및 스푸울의 단면적 변화에 따른 동특성의 변화를 조사하였다.

FCM을 이용한 3차원 영상 정보의 패턴 분할 (The Pattern Segmentation of 3D Image Information Using FCM)

  • 본 논문은 공간 부호화 패턴들을 이용하여 3차원 얼굴 정보를 정확하게 측정하기 위하여 초기 얼굴 패턴 영상으로부터 이미지 패턴을 검출하기 위한 새로운 알고리즘을 제안한다. 획득된 영상이 불균일하거나 패턴의 경계가 명확하지 않으면 패턴을 분할하기가 어렵다. 그리고 누적된 오류로 인하여 코드화가 되지 않는 영역이 발생한다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 요인에 강하고 코드화가 잘 될 수 있도록 FCM 클러스터링 방법을 이용하였다. 패턴 분할을 위하여 클러스터는 2개, 최대 반복횟수는 100, 임계값은 0.00001로 설정하여 실험하였다. 제안된 패턴 분할 방법은 기존 방법들(Otsu, uniform error, standard deviation, Rioter and Calvard, minimum error, Lloyd)에 비해 8-20%의 분할 효율을 향상시켰다.

  • This paper introduces the spring-mounted odometer system which maintains the correct contact with the pipe wall and measures the distance along the pipe. The odometer wheel is designed to keep contact to the pipelines inner wall and to generate fifty rectangular pulses per one turn(l59.5681mm) during pigging. The pipeline has the defects in various types such as buckles, winkles, cracks, dents, welding point and so on. Specially, girth welding points which exist each 12m of the pipeline, much affects the operational environment of the odometer. The measurement error of the distance along the pipe is accumulated, for the measurement error of wheel's circumference and the pipeline inner environment. So, this paper proposes the method for the error compensation based on the analysis of the odometer's behavior around the girth welding point of pipe. The experimental results show that developed odometer system can be used for the intelligent pig with good performances.

  • To improve limitations of fuzzy PI controller especially when applied to high order systems, we propose two types of fuzzy logic controllers that take out appropriate amounts of accumulated control input according to fuzzily described situations in addition to the incremental control input calculated by conventional fuzzy PI controllers. The structures of the proposed controller were motivated by the problems of fuzzy PI controllers that they generally give inevitable overshoot when one tries to reduce rise time of response especially when one tries to reduce rise time of response especially when a system of order higher than one is under consideration. Since the undesirable characteristics of the fuzzy PI controller are caused by integrating operation of the controller, even though the integrator itself is introduced to overcome steady state error in response, we propose two fuzzy controllers that fuzzily clear out integrated quantities according to situation. The first contr ller determines the fuzzy resetting rate by situations described fuzzily by error and error rate, and the second one by error and control input. The two structures both give reduced rise time as well as small overshoot. To show the usefulness of the proposed controller, that are applied to systems that are difficult to get satisfactory response by conventional fuzzy PI controllers.

According to alteration of shape and material about hinge, stability investigation is performed Through this stability investigation, trial and error is reduced in design and manufacture, at the same time, we are accumulated foundation data for unit control.

  • In this paper, we suggest the method for a service robot to move safely from an initial position to n goal position in the wide environment like a building. There is a problem using odometry encoder sensor to estimate the position of n mobile robot in the wide environment like a building. Because of the phenomenon of wheel's slipping, a encoder sensor has the accumulated error of n sensor measurement as time. Therefore the error must be compensated with using other sensor. A vision sensor is used to compensate the position of a mobile robot as using the regularly attached light's panel on a building's ceiling. The method to create global path planning for a mobile robot model a building's map as a graph data type. Consequently, we can apply floyd's shortest path algorithm to find the path planning. The effectiveness of the method is verified through simulations and experiments.

가속도 센서를 이용한 보행 정보 및 보행자 위치 추정 (Pedestrian Gait Estimation and Localization using an Accelerometer)

  • This paper presents the use of 3 axis accelerometer for getting the gait information including the number of gaits, stride and walking distance. Travel distance is usually calculated from the double integration of the accelerometer output with respect to time; however, the accumulated errors due to the drift are inevitable. The orientation change of the accelerometer also causes error because the gravity is added to the measured acceleration. Unless three axis orientations are completely identified, the accelerometer alone does not provide correct acceleration for estimating the travel distance. We proposed a way of minimizing the error due to the change of the orientation. Pedestrian localization is implemented with the heading angle and the travel distance. Heading angle is estimated from the rate gyro and the magnetic compass measurements. The performance of the localization is presented with experimental data.

  • Military Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) is utilized to search a mine under the sea. This paper presents design and performance verification of real-time hybrid navigation system for AUV. The navigation system uses Doppler Velocity Log (DVL) integration method to correct INS error in underwater. When the AUV is floated on the water, the accumulated error of navigation algorithm is corrected using position/velocity of GPS. The navigation algorithm is verified using 6 Degree Of Freedom (DOF) simulation, Program In the Loop Simulation (PILS). Finally, the experiments are performed in real sea environment to prove the reliability of real-time hybrid navigation algorithm.

  • This paper present effective odometry error compensation using multisensor fusion for the accurate positioning of mobile robot in navigation. During obstacle avoidance and wall following of mobile robot, position estimates obtained by odometry become unrealistic and useless because of its accumulated errors. To measure the position and heading direction of mobile robot accurately, odometry sensor a gyroscope and an azimuth sensor are mounted on mobile robot and Complementary-filter is designed and implemented in order to compensate complementary drawback of each sensor and fuse their information. The experimental results show that the multisensor fusion system is more accurate than odometry only in estimation of the position and direction of mobile robot.
